Wonderful hotel in a great central location, with easy access to all the sites of Barcelona. Friendly, professional and very helpful staff. Great room with a balcony over looking Place Catalunya and even a special welcome treat from the hotel as we were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
We were going to Barcelona for a night on our way to France so convenience was a key requirement. Our flight was arriving at 7:30 AM and we were flying out the next day at 7:20 AM. I learned that there was an express bus service from the airport to Placa de Catalunya so I checked out hotels near there. Once I found this hotel online nothing else looked as good to me. I was convinced it was the right place for our purposes. I booked two nights so we could come in, get our lovely room, shower and then enjoy an excellent breakfast (buffet and prepared food) at the hotel in a beautiful space with a spectacular ceiling. Great central location for strolling around the city. We walked about 7 miles, came back a for a nap before going out for another walk in the other direction, and then out for a terrific dinner around the corner. Comfortable night and then up early to walk across the plaza and catch the AeroBus back to the airport. The staff was friendly and helpful. The linens and towels first rate. The room was stylish with a pleasant view. They upgraded us to a room with an extra sitting area which we quite enjoyed. Even though we were right in the middle of everything the place was quiet. We felt like we had a 2 day visit instead of less than 24 hours and will be coming back to Barcelona in a week for 3 nights at another H10 property in a different neighborhood. I have high expectations based on the quality of this experience.
This boutique hotel was a great find. The staff look and act very professional and make you feel very important. The room we had overlooked the square but the windows block out any noise so no concerns here. The room was lovely, spacious, clean and had everything you could possibly need. We were given complimentary bottles of water and a bottle of red wine. A lovely touch. The hotel is in the perfect location for everywhere, tour buses local buses are very close. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return.
The hotel is situated on the Placa de Catalunya and acts as a great base for La Rambla, The Gothic Quarter, local bus and taxi ranks and the Metro, The reception and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful, added by nice touches such as complimentary chocolates, wine and, due to staff diligence a birthday cake for my wife as they realised it was her birthday during our stay. The bedroom and bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was a choice from the buffet or cooked, which was very good. The Gothic quarter has a large number of places to eat and is cheaper than eating on La Rambla. The indoor food market on the La Rambla however, is well worth a visit and has a number of stalls where you can sit for tapas. We pre-booked, via the net a visit to the Sagrada Familiar. The booking gives you a specific time to attend. It is an outstanding building and well worth seeing. The number 24 bus from the Placa de Catalunya will take you to Gaudi's Park. The fare is 2.15 euros one way and drops you right outside the park, which is free to enter, but if you want to see the Gaudi's architecture within the park book via the net was there is a long wait if you pay there. Barcelona is a vibrant and busy city and well worth a visit for sights, food and its diversity.
Strategically located close to everything and just 10 meters from the entry to the subway. The building is historic and you can see that in the restaurant, all the nice old ornaments and decorations. It is well renovated. The rooms are warm, sound isolated and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Free refreshments in the afternoon.
Small hotel in front of metro station Placa Cataluynua, newly renovated. Reception hall is very small, receptionists very helpful. Narrow staircase or old elevator takes to 2nd and 3rd floor where most of the rooms are located; those staying in 4rd floor need to climb stairs. Rooms are small but elegant. Small rooms mean that bed is right in front of the door and all noise from the corridor may disturb at night. Breakfast room is very beautiful and breakfast is great. Breakfast buffet selection is large and warm egg dishes are ordered from the menu, included in the breafast.
This hotel is an absolute gem! Fantastic position, staff and food. We heeded previous travellers advice and asked for a third floor balcony room facing the placa and that is exactly what we were given. I cannot wait to return!
Cannot fault this hotel !! Location, staff, facilities, cleanliness all spot on. Worth every penny. Booked bed and breakfast, extensive choice, quality ingredients. Staff well informed and really helpful. Despite being on a busy tourist square you aren't disturbed by outside noise. HIGHLY recommended
Great location and excellent hotel. We stayed three friends for 4 nights at the hotel. The hotel was stunning and tastefully decorated. The staff were very courteous and polite. They were generous in providing for our needs, and more. We arrived at 12:00 and already received our room. We also received an upgrade to a room with a terrace. It was definitely worth the price we paid. The rooms were not so big but the place was comfortable and enough for us and our bags. The location is excellent and close to everything. Thank you very much for the excellent hosting, we were very pleased.
This hotel is in a great location at the on La Rambla and Catalunya Plaza. The airport bus stops at the Plaza so it's easily accessible by public transport. We had a lovely room (315) which was actually on the 4th floor of the hotel overlooking La Rambla. It wasn't enormous but there was room for us to store our bags and move around easily and had cupboard space and a spacious bathroom with a shelf to store some toiletries. We received a bottle of wine and truffles on the first night of our stay and also signed up to the loyalty scheme for the hotel which gave us each a free drink of our choice at the bar. Between midday and 4pm there were free nibbles and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic available. There was a lovely outdoor area leading from the lounge which has lounges to sit on and enjoy your drinks. We didn't pay for the breakfast as it seemed expensive and instead enjoyed eating out at the local bars and restaurants and the market which is a short walk from the hotel. There are literally dozens within a very short walk from the hotel. Our room had a small balcony which enabled you to watch the chaos of La Rambla in relative peace. Watching the street sellers pack and unpack their goods so quickly and carry out their bartering was great entertainment. There were also shutters which we closed out night to shut out the noise. There was the faint rumbling of the metro as there is a stop almost outside the hotel. But we soon got used to it. The air conditioning was very good and needed as it toasty during our stay. As others have said the lift is quite small but we only used it when we first arrived and had small bags so we fitted into it easily. Otherwise we used the steps. The room was well equipped with an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, safe, bottled water and a good selection of toiletries which were refreshed daily. The free WiFi worked well in the room so we were able to research our daily activities easily.
