We were in Barcelona and thought we would stay away from the noise of Las Ramblas as we figured we would need a day for jet lag. The hotel was closer than we thought but not to close.....it's within walking distance of the soccer stadium where you cal pick the hop on hop off but which will take you through the city. The hotel was kept very clean and the service was great, everyone that we encountered spoke english. Reasonable rates, we will definitely return.
Stayed in a classic room for an one night with partner, and disappointed with stay. Stayed in better 4 star hotels in Barcelona (Vincci) and better 3 star hotels in across Europe (The Circus, Berlin). The excuse of classic room is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Capet was worn, wooden seat which was stained, stained bathroom tiles. Nice receptionist, good gym and lobby prevented this from being a 1 star review, but paying 5 star prices for room quality offered was unacceptable. Stayed in room 323.
Excellent hotel, fantastic service. We were upgraded to an Executive Suite, and we were given a beautiful welcome package of wine, chocolates, nuts & sweets. Only issue was that we were unable to use our accumulated meal allowances at this location. Also, the terrace was not open, and the options for a nice dining experience were limited.
This was our first trip to Barcelona, Spain and I'm glad that we stayed at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos The hotel suite that we stayed in was impeccable! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, will definitely return!
First stay in Barcelona and we had a great time. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Even the hotel is older it still has its charm. The breakfast had a good choice of food items, the bar has a great atmosphere and super cocktails. Life music and DJ were also present. So good place to stay, it’s not that far from the airport and the taxi ride to the town center is affordable. Would stay there again.
Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip, the room was well decorated and stylish with comfortable bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, great service. Breakfast buffet has a good selection and I have never had a more efficient service when everyone is busy to get on with the day.
I returned with my friend after staying here last year and being told that the hotel was going through a refurb and was going to be better so we wanted to check out the changes. We arrived early and no room was ready although we were told that we had not booked one of the new rooms something that is not specified when booking through third parties. Apparently the hotel was at full capacity due to the football and nothing could be done until the following day. We took a walk and on return we were dealing with a different person and had to repeat ourselves again and this gentleman had no care at all and was more interested in getting us to pay more. We took the room offered but getting there it was the old tired room with one bed and i had asked for two beds. After going down and getting the manager Ishmail involved a room was made available and it was one of the new ones with two double beds. The new room was good and i can not fault the space, cleanliness, the bed and pillows were fabulous and it really is deserving of a 5star hotel room. Breakfast is a wide selection and very tasty though coffee could be better. The variation in service between the first and second visit has put me off trying this hotel again i will try other 5stars nearer to the city centre. There is a Metro down the road to the city centre and the airport which is handy for those using public transport plus the Camp Nou is down the road.
I stayed 2 nights in this hotel for a conference. It’s in a process of renovation, but it doesn’t disturb the guests. The new rooms are fine, not very big, but good size for a 4-start-hotel. The only problem with the rooms is bad isolation (you can hear your neighbors even if they are talking not very loud). I didn’t like the breakfast: no eggs-station and no good coffee (Nespresso machine). The location is vey remote if you are visiting Barcelona as a tourist, you will need 20-30 minutes to get to the downtown by car. So I can recommend this hotel only if you are staying for conference in it, but not for holidays in Barcelona.
After the always wonderful Singapore property, this was the best Fairmont that I have stayed in to date. Room 1515 was immaculate and contained all the communications possibilities, space and comfort that a business traveler could possibly want. Staff throughout were friendly helpful from the front desk to those in the B-24 restaurant. Only a couple of slightly unexpected things to point out......this is not fault of the hotel, but sat nav systems are not very helpful when driving you there as they show the property on the other side of a very busy multi-lane each way road. Secondly you have to pay for parking which surprised me at a property of this standard, Day rate is 30 Euros.
I received fantastic service from the staff at the Fairmont. I felt they really cared about my experience. My rooms were great, with everything I needed for business and sleeping and relaxing. Very nice beds. I had two stays here recently only a few days apart. I was recognized on returning, and the gentleman remembered my name, where I was traveling in between and asked how my trip had been, so genuinely friendly people. The people at the concierge desk were very helpful in getting me where I needed to go. This one is a little different from many Fairmonts in that they are often in spectacular locations. The location of this one is not in the middle of an interesting district or anything. (It isn't bad, just a bit boring.) It's obviously convenient for the convention center. But honestly, a 5 minute walk and you are on the metro to anywhere you want to go in Barcelona. Or they have plenty of taxis waiting out front. I didn't mind the routine of taking the metro to the city center and back to go out for the evening. I was a bit disappointed by the Terrace restaurant out by the pool (very high priced for a not too exciting menu). Inside at the restaurant, breakfast is fantastic with anything and everything you would want. Very expensive, but again, outstanding food choices.
