We absolutely loved our stay in this hotel - very helpful staff, clean well appointed rooms in a great location. Completely agree with previous reviewers - well the positive ones anyway......none of our party had any negative comments I have stayed in other hotels in Barca but I will definitely return to this one!!
I do really recommend this hotel. The staff is friendly and helped us with every worry we had. It is located near the beach and the metro station "Marina". You have some supermarkets close to the hotel and the location is really great no matter what you prefer to do.
We stayed at Capri for two nights in the first week of June. We checked in the afternoon in room 303 (Deluxe Apartment, 1 bedroom) that had a queen bed and a sofa cum bed. The staff at the reception was extremely helpful and showed all the things to do at Barcelona and gave us valuable advice on the best way to commute via local transport. The nearest metro station is Marina and it is a 200 meter walk from the hotel. There is also a Chinese supermarket near the metro station from where one can buy basic grocery products (water, etc). The apartment was quite good and well equipped with amenities. There was adequate crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils in the kitchenette. The bathroom was large and spacious and the linen was quite good. The only hitch was that the bed was too soft and we were not very comfortable on this front. The sofa cum bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep upon. Our booking did not include breakfast and the reception informed us that the normal rates are 14 Euros per adult and 10 Euros per child but if the breakfast is prepaid at the time of check in, then there is a discount of 10% on these rates. We did not opt for breakfast so I cannot comment on how the spread was. Only other grouse we had was that the guests are expected to clean the utensils themselves. Housekeeping services only clean the room and make the beds but they do not clean the dishes. This is contrary to our experiences at other serviced apartments in other countries. We did not expect that the dishes would have be done by us. Also, they are quite inflexible about the check out time. We got a call on the phone at exactly 12 noon asking us to check out. Overall, excellent service, good apartment. Will be more helpful for guests if they have a little more flexibility in their rules and regulations.
The noisiest hotel I have ever stayed - its 1.50 am and its so loud we can't even sleep. We hear every 3-5 minutes people walking by outside and talking, some yelling and screaming. I went to complain to front desk and they said its NORMAL. Why would they not install soundproof windows if the noise is NORMAL? If the hotel guest can not sleep at night because of the noise who cares if the fridge or pool is new and clean. The area is a little sketchy - you can not even walk into hotel from the street without a card. Internet was fast. Rooms not bad, large and new. If you coming from US or Asia service will seems not good - its just Spain, this hotel is better than average for Spain. I had some plumbing work done in my room - maintenance guy fixed the drain but left behind him black footprints of smelly rotting stuff from the pipes, all over bathroom and bedroom floor. No one cleaned it up intil at 11.30 pm, pissed off I got front desk to get someone to come from home to clean. If you are coming from service oriented countries of Asia or used to higher standards of some US and Canadian hotels you are likely to be disappointed. The area around hotel is dirty - people through cigarette butts right on the street and garbage on the streets is plentiful, similar to New York a day before garbage pick up.
I did not enjoy my time here and left early. This hotel brand use to be excellent...but now its falling apart. How can a hotel look nicer on the outside than the rooms do on the inside? The rooms are horrible and not very nice, dated and depressing. Smell of sewage (I had to change rooms 3 times). Noise in the hallways. ** A noisy back packer hostel or student dorms right next door filled with 18 year olds screaming all through the night ** DO NOT STAY HERE! ...well unless its cheap and you are a student ;-)
Arrived about 10pm and check in was painless. The only downside to this hotel is if you are looking for a city centre location. If you don't mind some walking and want to be out of the noise of the city then this place is ideal. Hotel has a bar and restaurant, decent size gym and roof terrace with sun loungers. The rooms are a good size, especially when traveling with a large teenager. Good sized lounge with double sofa bed, kitchen area and dining table. Main bedroom is a good size with double wardrobes and safe. Shower room is well sized with plenty of towels, good supply of toiletries, and hairdryer. Fridge comes stocked with bottles of water to get you started and you can get more at the hotel bar A 5 minute walk takes you to Marina metro station and your access to Barcelona. You can walk to Sagrada Familia in 20 minutes. The same length of walk in the opposite direction and you're at the beach.
This place has exceeded my expectations in terms of location, staff sincerely, cleanliness, responsiveness . I will always stay at Capri. The one bedroom apartment was just excellent for family of four. I just hope they make the sofa cum bed a little more comfortable.
We booked studio and deluxe apartments for our 5 day stay and we're not disappointed. The rooms are spacious, well equipped with kettle, fridge, microwave, iron etc and beds very comfortable. Showers and bathroom products are great. Distance to town and to beach is both about 15mins walk which if you like walking is fine and a great base for a short break.
Stayed here as a group of 12 over 3 apartments for my hen party for 3 nights, we emailed beforehand to see if we could have 3 apartments on the same floor and they accommodated this. Check in was a little slow as only 1 person on the desk but not a major problem. The apartments were spacious and very clean and modern and was impressed by the toiletries provided in the bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and was a little skeptical over the comfort of the sofa beds but even these were comfortable! The room was cleaned daily however on the second day our room was cleaned and housekeeping didn't check the towels properly when changing and ended up taking my own, I did ask if they were able to find this but they advised that housekeeping could not. We ran out of coffee/teas and housekeeping topped this up daily, we also requested milk downstairs from the restaurant which they happily provided. The apartments are well located and easy access to most sites, we walked almost everywhere and was also easy to catch a taxi when required. Overall the stay was great and no major complaints regarding Capri. I would recommend for others to stay here too!
Hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly, excellent value. Very convenient for families traveling with children and on a budget! You can reach major tourist attraction by taxi in five to ten minutes!
