While this hotel was fairly clean and the staff very polite, it was unclear to me just how far it was away from the city center. It took about 1 hour to get to the city center via the metro, and about 30 minutes via taxi. The shuttle to and from the airport was very convenient, however. This would be a good place to stay on the first night you arrive and the last night before you leave, but otherwise is not very convenient for sight-seeing.

Easy to use the bus or Metro, nice hotel, very good conditions to stay and to explore Barcelona. Thank you!

The hotel was very good and great location we arrive from cruise that day and we were flying home early the next morning so we did not have time to do much. The fact that the hotel had a Airport transfer was a big factor for my choosing it. The hotel was great for what we needed.

I ended up staying here the night before an early flight. The free shuttle was nice and helped save me some cash. It does come every 30-45 minutes, so the wait time can get long especially if you literally just missed it. Check in process was easy and quick, free wifi everywhere at the hotel. Being an airport hotel, it is about a 30 minute bus ride to the city center, but that's expected of any airport hotel. The staff was courteous and booked my morning shuttle to the airport (you have to ask about it when you check in). The room was ok.

The staff was really wonderful and exceeded expectations. Food was decent and the location was excellent in getting to the airport. Bus stop out front was great in getting to/from center of town (20 min. ride - bus 21). Hotel design was a bit modern in style and suited us fine. Room was very clean but bed was a bit stiff for my taste. Had difficulty with computer and internet (some key identifications were rubbed out and certain icons were located in hard to find places. Needed help from staff but they were generous, kind, and efficient in assistance.

The hotel itself was nice, but this is NOT what I would consider an airport hotel. We chose this hotel because we were landing in Barcelona at 10:30 PM and had a flight the next morning to Los Angeles at 6:00 AM. It advertises being very close to the airport. We called, like instructed when we landed, for the shuttle, and were told we would have to wait 50 minutes for the shuttle, even though they were just 15 minutes away. So, we waited almost an hour for the shuttle. Then, the shuttle, because it also goes to another terminal, and had to sit and wait at the other terminal for a while, took over 30-35 minutes to bring us to the hotel. It was midnight by the time we checked in! Then, the next morning, we were told the first shuttle leaves at 5:00 AM, so we would need to take a taxi, which I was expecting. What I was not expecting is for the taxi, which was called by the receptionist and was a friend of the receptionist, charged us 30 Euros for the 15-20 minute drive. Ten days prior to this we had taken a taxi into the heart of downtown Barcelona, which took about 25-30 minutes, for 30 euros! Why does a taxi, who is friends with the hotel personal, charge the SAME PRICE, and take almost as long as going to downtown Barcelona? What is the purpose of using aN airpoRt hotel? Next time I will stay at one of the other airport hotels which I noticed were much closer, and hopefully they will call a taxi that does not rip us off.

The hotel was ok for one night cruise out of Barcelona. I liked the shuttle service.

Hardly rates as an "airport" hotel (took a good 20 minutes to get there. Free shuttle did not leave the hotel early enough for my flight, so had to spend half as much as I paid for the room for a taxi. Room itself was very nice

Location is decent but not as close to airport as it sounded. Facilities are good and very new looking. Loved the room and service was good with English speaking staff.

We were flying out of Barcelona the next day and wanted a hotel near the airport. We had done a cruise and a winery tour after disembarking the ship. We were dropped at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel fit the bill. It was near the airport, provided free airport shuttle and was very clean. There is a restaurant/cafeteria on premise. There are not other restaurants in the immediate area however offerings were adequate. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if traveling from Barcelona.

The Alfa hotel is great if you want to be close to the airport. They have a free shuttle and the staff is extremely helpful.

Whenever we come to Barcelona, this is where we stay. It does not get any better than this. From the warm welcome, to the courteous service, the wonderful food and drink, the restful sleep, and finally the fond farewell -- we savor our time here. And look forward to our return...

Close and quiet. Couldn't get the TV to work. No hot food when I wanted dinner at 6 pm. I know it's Spain but this is a transit hotel and I had to get up at 4:30 am. No way to make the room dark because of light in bathroom window. Staff nice.

Wonderful hotel with a very, very helpful staff. this hotel far exceeded my expectations.

The room was fine, with very nice bathroom. Air conditioning temperature was not adjustable, but comfortable. Easy but long bus access (25 minute ride) to downtown. Restaurant was good, but expensive. Free shuttle to/from airport.

Hotel okay but neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired Food was so so but the only choice shuttle to airport okay

Reasonable price, clean modern room, nice multi-lingual staff, and good shuttle service. The downside is that no hotel is at or near the airport, the shuttle being the only connection to hotels. It is located in an industrial area, so it serves the function as a place to leave from before an early morning flight and be at the airport in ten minutes.

Stayed the night on my way back home. The staff was excellent. Soon as I checked in. they were asking if I needed a wake up time and a taxi to the airport and what time for each. The only down side is, its not near anything. The upside is the number 21 bus stops right outside the door, which takes you pretty much anywhere as far as down town and the pier area. Was most impressed with the helpfulness of the staff

I really don''t have a good comparison for hotels in countries other than the U.S. The desk staff was very professional and helpful. I'm sure dealing with guests from other countries is stressful. However, they spoke English very well and were able to help give us directions. The room was comfortable and clean. Since we were away from the city center, we chose to eat in the hotel cafe. The food was nothing out of the ordinary, but sufficient. Meal times are completely different than our traditional US meals. Overall, the experience was good. The staff was excellent.
