We walked to casa Batllo Gaudi and the cathedral gothic streets and la boqueria and it !!!

Good experience. I enjoyed my stay. Staff were very friendly. They upgraded our room. I suggests they change their Matresses because they were not comfortable.

Avenida Palace is an elegant (but not over the top) hotel in the heart of Barcelona, on a busy street close to the Plaza Catalunya. It is a little old fashioned (e.g. a real key for your door, which you drop off at the desk when you leave the hotel) but in a good way, with high quality furnishings, lots of beautiful wood paneling, etc. The bathrooms were up to date, spacious, and easily shared by our family of 3 (two sinks, both a shower and a tub). We had a suite, and our teenage daughter could close off the living room when she wanted some privacy; we could likewise close off our bedroom when we did not want to be disturbed. There was a hallway that was large enough to serve as a third room. Amenities (toiletries, etc) were of excellent quality. The hotel breakfast, which was included in our stay, was in a bright interior room, and included both hot and cold items, with plenty of fruit. On two occasions we used the pool on the roof to cool off at the end of a hot day; the view was just beautiful. We thought this was definitely the expected quality for a four star hotel (and we have stayed in many places around the world).

This was my second time at the Avenida Palace, it's a very nice hotel, great location, very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it.

Hotel was perfect for our stay. Great location. Comfortable room. Beautiful lobby. Only con was needed to go to lobby for wifi. Would definately stay again!

Great hotel excellent location room was huge with nice bathroom we enjoy our stay

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, this time it was for a big family trip. Booked 4 rooms and couldn't be happier with the location and service.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay here. Location is excellent.....train stop from airport right outside main door passaige de gracia, exit catalunya plaza. Costs 4.50 euros and takes about 30 mins. Otherwise bus stop 1 block away or taxi 40 euros. Remember when booking room though that you might hear metro at night rumbling. I would book higher room ,it's 9 floors, facing the street or ear plugs if light sleeper. Lovely roof top pool and sitting area with small refreshment bar. Coffee, cava and view excellent! Great breakfast buffet, would definitely recommend as is open until 11am. We had junior suite which had 2 rooms with sofa sleeper in one with tv, and the other 2 single beds pushed together with their own bedding. Large bright bathroom. Found staff to be pleasant and helpful.

Loved the location right in the heart of all the action you are steps away from all the main atractian's its a grand old hotel but dont let the old fool you its been renovated and everything is top notch loved it

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cleanliness, location and service were great. Restaurant staff were not very friendly or helpful. Part of that was due to language

Good location, and the hotel looks good from outside. Everything else was just ok or lacking. Front desk staff was pretty cold and stingy with a smile or a "thank you". Don't ask them questions since they are busy chitchat with each other... except one guy who was helpful and offered some good tips.

Close to the port (about 1 to 2 miles), close to the airport (about 6 to 7 easy miles) one block from Red and Blue Tour buses, one block from good restaurants and shopping. Great nightlife!

When we made reservations with this hotel we made it with breakfast included. We made the reservation with our friends who also stayed at the hotel at the same time and we both had the same information about the reservation. Everytime we visited the dining room the staff greeted us after checking our room number and letting us in without questions. Surprisingly at our last day in the hotel, when we visited the dining room, the guy that was greeting us told us that breakfast was not included. We were shocked! First of all we were sure that we made reservation with breakfast. Second of all we were outraged at the hotel's staff as to why they only told us this information at the last day after we already ate breakfast there. If we knew that breakfast was not included we would have eaten outside of the hotel because we did not like the breakfast there anyways. The manager refused to ask her staff as to why they did not inform us of this mishap earlier and we ended up paying extra for the breakfast. In overall we had the worst experience so far in all of our travels, not to mentions that we were on our honeymoon.

Cool, grand hotel from the 40's, lots of solid brass and marble with grand staircases. Air conditioned.1/2 block off La Rhombla, and steps from a metro station.Internet, as everywhere in Europe is touch and go in the rooms but solid in the spacious lobby with wait staff. You could pay far more and do far worse. Enjoyed just as much as the Arts hotel in Barcelona. Steps from everything!!

I have become accustomed to having workable internet and to have super slow internet was a big disappoinment. Decided to leave early.

This hotel is located at the top of La Rambla close to the Placa de Catalunya. A perfect place to walk to places to eat and to shop. We also walked to the Picasso Museum and to the Cathedral of Barcelona. Public transportation is easily available at the Placa as well as the Metro to other parts of this great city. You can also walk down Ramblas as far as you like. Ramblas is the most busy and interesting street in the city ending at the ocean with historic monuments. The Avenida Palace is very clean and a beautiful hotel with free Wi Fi and a good restaurant for morning brunch. If you arrive early before your room is ready they will store your luggage until your room is available while you go out to explore the city. Will definitely go back.

Hotel AVENIDA Palace was very well located it was very easy to get around walking or taking a taxi.

Fortunately we only needed a place to lay our heads at night and shower in the morning. The bed sunk in, in the middle and was very uncomfortable. The lighting was terrible and our only view was of the surrounding outside walls of the hotel. Very old hotel and the rooms felt like it. The rooms need a remodel

Could not have been any better. Buffet breakfast --- excellent. Room was superb.

Good experience, well maintained hotel with beautiful Old World Spanish decor. Great location, with shops, tour buses, outside cafe dining all close by. Also close to theaters and opera.
