It's not the Ritz but you'll like it. The front desk staff are super nice and the place was clean and a well stocked kitchen so you can buy stuff at the market and make your own food. Preparing your own food can save you a few bucks when traveling. The grounds are well kept and the room we stayed in is big enough for 4 people: 2 on the king size bed in the bedroom, and two on the sofa bed. Wifi is really weak in the room we were in on the 4th floor but it's a bit better in the lobby and when wifi traffic is lower like in the mornings. Don't count on it if you really need it for work or if you want to FaceTime friends and family. There is no patio but there are enough windows to get a lot of natural light in the rooms. The metallic shutters can black out sunlight if you want to sleep in so you can get the most out of your nightlife and not worry about direct sunlight in your eyes in the morning. The elevators are tight and slow so don't expect the big fancy boxes like in the U.S. The hotel has a small cafe on the property but the food doesn't look all that exciting so we passed on everything they offered. What we really liked was the fact that the metro is a few minutes walk through the residential streets, ask for directions from the front desk. There's also a bunch of shops and restaurants about 5 minutes away that you can walk to for coffee, lunch or tapas.
Stayed here for MedLab, the hotel is near to metro and handy to travel in and out of Barcelona centre and airport. A taxi charges 22.5 euros from airport to hotel. The area around the hotel is fairly bleak and of little obvious interest, so the transport link is important. The hotel itself is ok with a spacious rooms,my room was not serviced during my four day stay, however there were plenty of towels. Free WiFi very slow and a bit iffy, breakfast is continental, basic and plentiful. Down the road there is a small supermarket so you can stock the large fridge in the room. In all a basic hotel which has little in the way of frills but fine for a few days.
This apartment hotel situated in L'hospital de Llobregat offers large rooms with balcony ideal for those who likes to have a fridge and a sofa group etc. The roof top pool is a nice detail as well. Friendly staff and lots of great restaurants in the area. Placed by a quite trafficated road and thus a little traffic noise must be expected, but didn't bother us.
We stayed two nights with my adult kids. 2 bed room apartment is spacious. Closer Metro Station. Suburb itself is not posh. Life market is near by. 24 hr reception and very helpful. Speaks English. Bit of wait for lifts.
We stayed for 7 nights in a one bed apartment, with 2 teenagers on the pull out sofa in the lounge (it was quite a nifty one, that folded out to contain all the bedding, so no hassle at all). The only drawback is the bathroom is off the bedroom, so we had no privacy - ideally we should have booked a 2 bed. The entrance and block was smart, and quirky, with the inner garden area. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi connectivity (lack of) was a bit of a pain at the beginning of our stay, but improved midway through. This traumatised the kids (!). The apartment itself was superbly clean, and contained everything you possibly needed (towels, liquid soap/shower gel/washing up liquid), with a immaculate kitchen and bathroom. The massive bed was sooooo comfortable, I think the best mattress I've ever slept on. Air conditioning was good, and shutters kept the rooms cool - unfortunately having the shutters down affected the TV signal, but as there were only about 3 Spanish channels to watch it didn't matter too much. Situated on a junction, you do hear the zip of scooters etc at night, and also I think there must be an underground route underneath, as there was a rumble every 20 mins or so until they stopped running (we were on Floor 1, so it might improve with height). The rooms were cleaned every 3 days, with everything replaced and left lovely and fresh. We didn't use the pool much, but it was spotless. Ultimately we would stay here again, due to the good value for money, cleanliness, ease of travel into the centre, and it being situated it a lovely safe friendly comfortable district (sit and have a beer at the bar near the roundabout next to the metro, to watch the world go by on an evening). We would just leave the kids behind, or get a bigger flat!
Stayed here for 5 nights in July 2017, with a group of friends (4 of us in the 2 bedroom apartment) Could not fault it , everything was perfect! The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped, with a beautiful large balcony and view. (plus amazing free aircon!) The roof top pool and view were absolutely stunning, the photos cannot do it justice! Location was great too, short walk from metro and less than 30 minutes on metro to the centre. Lidl and other supermarkets near to hotel which was handy! Nicest and cheapest place I've ever stayed abroad in Europe! I cannot recommend enough!
Me & my friends (4 of us in total, in our early 20s) have just got back from a 5-night stay at Aura Park Sud and we had a brilliant time. Our days were filled with activities as we wanted to make the most of everything Barcelona has to offer, so we mostly used our apartment as a base while exploring this vibrant city. Aura Park Sud is ideal when used for this purpose. We loved our daily dip in the rooftop pool - perfect for cooling down on a hot day, and the views of the city were amazing from up there. If we'd wanted to spend an entire day lying by the pool, we'd have needed to get there super early as due to limited space there are only about 10 sun loungers to choose from. The location is just outside of Barcelona, but the centre and all the main attractions are within easy reach due to the efficient metro system. Aura Park Sud is a <5 minute walk from the Avinguda Carrilet and Sant Josep stations, so I'd definitely recommend getting a Hola Barcelona unlimited travel card for the duration of your stay. The exterior is actually the prettiest apartment block I've ever seen! Love the green paint and tree design. The lobby area is also gorgeous and has a vending machine for snacks and, to our relief given how hot it was during our stay, cold drinks. Staff on the front desk are very friendly and helpful, and gave some great restaurant recommendations. Inside, the apartments are well presented and appropriately sized. I believe they're cleaned every 3 days. We stayed in an apartment with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed (this is where I slept and it was very comfortable). If possible you may want to bring extra pillows: we were instructed not to move the couch cushions when setting the sofa up as a bed, and no extra pillows were provided so we had to steal some from the main double bed. Wifi is not reliable at all although is slightly better downstairs in the lobby. The apartment had air conditioning, a safe for keeping passports and valuables and a drying rack for swimwear & towels. The kitchen came with cutlery and a few pans but no oven trays, and we had a kettle but no toaster. There is a restaurant downstairs which does a (mostly cold/continental other than the occasional appearance of eggs and bacon) breakfast buffet for 8 euros per person, but we found it was much better value for money to pick up things like pain au chocolat, croissants and cereal bars from the nearby shop and eat those. Aura Park Sud was perfect for what we needed- a comfortable and convenient base to use when we weren't out and about in Barcelona. If we ever return to the city we'd be more than happy to stay there again.
Don't ever book this apparment hotel. We booked 2 appartments each with 2 separate bedrooms. When We arrived they had made an dobbelbooking, meaning thar our familily of 4 children and two adults had to sleep in separate rooms. For the other 6 it did'nt matter since it was two couples. It seems it is something they do often, so don't trust that what you book is what you get. Our family really needed to be together, instead We wasted a lot of money on some for us useless rooms, that totally runied our last day of our holiday as a family. My recomensation: NEVER BOOK AURA APPARTMENTS !!!!!
Lovely place to stay, staff were all very nice and helpful. Apartment is a little out from centre and main attractions, however the metro is very close. The pool was very nice. The only problem we haf was the wifi connection wasn't great at all. It would have benefited from having an iron in it too.
I wanted an apartment near the airport of BCN. Although they state they are near it, the distance is longer than expected. Should recommend it for families. Not for a Biz trip. Clean. Good air conditioning. Fully equipped. Lots of space
