South Gap Hotel

This hotel and the staff were excellent. The rooms are a little tired, but very clean and the view of the turtles swimming in the surf from the balcony can't be beat!!

This hotel is perfectly located in the Gap. The room was a little rustic and could use some TLC, but I had heard that it was going to be renovated soon. I would definitely return. The South Gap is near several restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and convenience stores. Because of its location, you do hear music coming from the bars across the street until around 3 to 4 AM on most nights of the week, so it's not ideal if you're a light sleeper. We could also hear the music coming from the hotel restaurant below but it ended much earlier. The kitchen was basic, with a refrigerator/freezer, sink, hot plate, and small appliances, most that had seen better days. There were plenty of glasses, pots and plates that were in better shape. The mounted flat screen TV had cable and wifi worked fine in our room. The bathroom was small but serviceable. It's about a 10 minute walk to the public access point for Dover Beach, next to Infinity on the Beach. We found Dover to be a decent beach, but we had received recommendations from locals to go to Browne's Beach in Bridgetown. We found that it was a far superior beach in sand and water quality, but there really aren't any similar hotels on that beach so we were still happy to stay at the South Gap and travel to Browne's Beach. (We went to the Boatyard that for $40 Barbados currency per person, offers chairs and umbrellas, and some water activities, and the $40 is entirely redeemable for food and drinks at their restaurant/bar.) Overall, the South Gap was a great value with perhaps the best balcony views on the south side of the island. I would definitely go back, especially if it were renovated with better soundproofing.

Amazing view from the balcony and a big pool! The staff was very helpful

We enjoyed our stay. Good location and nice hotel staff.

The facility was nice, beautiful view of the ocean from balcony or the pool, room was ok for the $, but the noise across the street every night until 3 or 4 am from karaoke was bad! Staff was very friendly & nice!

Fantastic! Loved the staff! Great location. Great activities allowing you to meet other island visitors.

The staff were amazing. Very Attentive. Great place to stay. I will be coming back.

South Gap Hotel is a small hotel But in a very good location for night life and restaurants. The Hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly any very willing to tell you how to get around and what events were going on

I had an amazing stay. The staff was awesome!! It got a little noisey Weds nite from the music across the street but other than that it was great!!

The South Gap Hotel is located in St. Lawrence Gap, which is on the southern part of the island about five miles from Bridgetown. I checked in May 27, 2013 and stayed until May 30. The hotel is perfect for short or long stays. The rooms have stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, TV, shower/tub, a terrace for spectacular views of the water, a swimming pool, a small casino, and a breakfast/lunch room bar. The bar only stays open until 6, but there are many bars, nightclubs and restaurants in the area, also many beaches and shops. I say stay here. The staff is great. Just need to fix the air-conditioner.

The South Gap Hotel in St. Lawrence Gap is a nice hotel for the money. You have everything in one place, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, beaches, bars, and neighborly people. The nightlife here is superb and so is the food. This hotel makes a rum punch during Happy Hour that will have you smacking your lips for more! Rooms have microwaves, stoves, refrigerators, TVs, radios, showers, eating utensils, etc. There !s also a friendly staff. Only downside is that the bar and restaurant closes early and the air conditioner was out, Otherwise...stay here. You'll like it!

The South Gap Hotel in St. Lawrence Gap in Barbados is a clean, friendly hotel in a popular area. St. Lawrence Gap is an area of shops, restaurants, hotels, and bars with lustrous beaches as a nice backdrop. The rooms are spacious. The views of the water are spectacular. The only issue I didn't like was that the bar closes early, and the air- conditioner seems to be off. Great value for the money though. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the area, and the breeze off the Caribbean is hard to beat!

Great location walking distance to beaches and close to major highway. Very close to airport too. Friendly staff

Good hotel to stay. It has great view of the beach and was close to all the bars and lounges.

Great value. Great location. Walk to Dover Beach is worth it. Friendly staff. Feels like home. Need a blanket for bedroom. Used restaurant -- medium to large portions. Just opposite to Hal's Parking Lot Karaoke -- can be noisy if you are looking for rest or easy access to entertainment. Having an apartment away from home was great.

The South Gap hotel is in a perfect location with nice bars, lounges, hotels, and walking distance from a wondeful beach. The hotel is spacious and the hotel staff is very helpful. The hotel needs to upgrade its infrastructure, cleaniness, and repaint the hallways and hotel.
