We have just spent Christmas at Mango Bay and we had an amazing time. The staff, the food the location were all superb. The rooms were a bit dated but we were informed that a refurb was to happen in 2018. We would love to return.
We stayed here for one night after disembarking from a cruise ship. After checking in ( which took quite a while) we were shown our room which was quite a long way from reception and up stairs. There was no lift! Also because it rained during the afternoon, there was no cover as you were exposed to the elements if you wanted to go anywhere. Whilst food and drink were included, it was average at best. It would also appear that this was a place for English party goers. Not really our scene. As we had an early flight the next day, we booked a wake up call with reception for 5.30am which finally came through at 5.50am leaving us 10 minutes to shower and pack and check out before our driver arrived! Had I known what the place was like, I would have stayed elsewhere.
Stayed two weeks dec 8th - 23rd food good along with the staff rooms do need a little up dating but let’s face it how long do you spend in your room !! Entertainment was ok we are a family so young daughter 6 years loved the pool and beach Also they had a cinema for the younger guests which she loved . Hope to return next December to this amazing island Sammy
This little gem will never disappoint the staff are lovely we was up graded to a deluxe room which was a lovely surprise this was our 5th time to the island 2nd time to mango bay and will be back. The staff are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble we swam with the turtles complimentary catamaran trip we had 3 days the sea was rough and currents were strong and the red flags were flying so we were unable to go on the boat and in the sea but this soon passed and the boat was rescheduled. We visited 3rd December for 10 days we had a couple of rainy days but we met a couple for the same duration whom we met last year so we went on trips on those days we did the caves and the jeep island tour both great fun. There is a street party on every Sunday on the street at front of hotel and yes the party goes on to 3am best way to join in rather than moan it’s one night a week if you stay in the superior rooms etc you won’t really hear it only if your in the standard rooms as these are on that side but it’s fun and an experience. The food is gorgeous buffet breakfast lunch and dinner alternative between sit down menu or buffet but loads of and nice your never feel hungry. 4pm sandwiches if you can squeeze any down. Beach is nice and can walk left or right for miles. Nice shopping mall opposite lime grove always go there to get my girlfriend Mk bags ! There is now a masy supermarket down the road that’s new from the year before but it’s not cheap. Drinks are if good standard but don’t do pimms I am quite parcel to a glass of pimms but hey just had to drink the rum punch instead lol. Rooms are big and spacious with all your needs being on the top floor was nice as no one above you so nice and quiet. The manager is always walking around making sure there are no problems and speaking with the guests. All I can say thank you mango bay for yet another brilliant holiday will def be back ......
Had a fabulous time. Hotel great ,staff very friendly. Small hotel but plenty of character. Food and drink better than we expected. Some complaints but you must understand this is Barbados. You either love it or you hate it. We loved it.
A lovely friendly hotel.Made to feel very welcome by both staff and guests.A perfect location for myself as have friends living nearby.Hopefully will return next year!Would thoroughly recommend to my friends.
We visited Mango Bay on our annual trip to the Caribbean. It is a hotel we have had our eye on for some time and managed to get it at half the normal price it is advertised at. You need to wait for the 3 week window, normally around February or March time when prices drop! The hotel is well situated for walks into Holetown or either way along the nice beaches. We upgraded to a superior room on the advice of other reviewers and were more than happy with the location. The room was very spacious, with a covered area for sunbeds and also a decked area with more sunbeds and a parasol. It was about 20 steps to the bar! Food was good, with plenty of choice with a pretty equal split of self service and al a carte through the week. Some of the service was too laid back and on two occasions they completely forgot our desserts!! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were spoilt with a bottle of fizz, decorated table, room and card. In fact they looked after all celebrations this way with numerous tables decorated throughout the week. It was evident that many people return here year after year which may be a good sign?, but not our style, we like to try different places. Overall very enjoyable and worth a visit if you can get it for under £1400 pp for a week.
We came here on our honeymoon and Mango Bay resort ticked all the boxes for us. The service was brilliant. All staff there were sop friendly and would go out of their way for you. The food was great, i love the fact that everyday was a different menu and even if you didn't want something from that menu they would cater for you! I had to go to the doctors one afternoon due to getting water caught in my ear and so we ended up missing lunch. When we got back 2 hours after lunch they cooked us up a pizza and some fries to keep us going. The room was spotless and was cleaned daily with fresh towels every day. Possibly the best all inclusive i have been too in a long while!
We had such a great time last time we just had to go back. We tried somewhere else in holetown last year but it was not the same. Why? Well, its the staff and the ambience that they create. Nearly all the staff from 2 years ago were still there and it was great to see them again. The management gave us a series of treats as returning customers which was unexpected but very nice. I cant see us going anywhere else in the caribbean now. Thanks very much to all staff xxx
My wife and I stayed at Mango Bay for 7 nights and could not have felt more welcome. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much hassle for them. Check in was a breeze and complimentary rum punch was very much appreciated. The rooms are everything they need to be. Spacious, with large comfy bed, balcony, safe, and my usual bugbear was happily avoided: I could fit my head under the shower head (6'3" male here). Okay, some of the decor looks a bit tired but I wasn't spending much time in my room anyway. The pool is clean with plenty of loungers and waiter service. Ditto the beach, which offers stunning views especially at sunset. It is a sandy beach with only the odd rock underfoot in the sea and a swimming area coned off with buoys stopping any watercraft getting in your way. We were also able to borrow snorkel and mask from the watersports hut and swim out amongst the sea turtles amongst the rocks which lie under the water a little further down the beach. This was magical. Do it around 10.30am when the catamarans all moor up as they feed the turtles... We enjoyed the waterskiing, stand up paddle, glass bottom boat and kayaking, all free of charge with the stay. There is also a free catamaran trip which we sadly didn't get chance to try but I'm told is well worth a look. The restaurant is superb. The quality and range of food on offer is top notch and the staff are so attentive and helpful. Barbecue night was also a real treat. Steak straight off the grill and cooked exactly how I'd ordered it. Lovely. The bar is my favourite part of this hotel. The staff are amazing! The cocktails are awesome. Shout out to Rondell who can make a 50% alcohol drink taste like juice and to Tre who is just the nicest barman I've ever encountered. The other staff are also brilliant, happy to chat, make up cocktails on the fly and really are a credit to the hotel. The hotel is well situated for the local supermarket, shopping mall, bars, restaurant and is on the bus route. Do try the One Love bar around the corner on a Sunday night. Trust me it is a great experience. Thinking of negatives (are there aren't many) I would suggest is better wifi coverage. Unless you are in one or two certain spots you haven't a hope of getting on the hotel wifi. Certainly not in the bedrooms. The evening entertainment was also on certain nights a bit boring. However, overall an absolutely amazing stay. If I was to return to Barbados I'd pick this hotel!
