As always a wonderful experience. Cannot beat the location, accommodation and excellent staff and service. This is our destination every time and will not go anywhere else. Nikki and Danielle are wonderful, The beach is pristine. Recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet stay in a perfect location. Not for the younger crowd as it is absolutely quiet at night with nothing going on but that is one of this gem's charms. If I could recommend one thing it would be to have some quiet music around the pool area during the day. That is the only thing that could make this more perfect.
The location is fabulous- right on the beachfront, beautiful white sandy beach, turquoise sea and turtles! The rooms are spacious and all have sea views with large balconies. It is fairly small, I think about 30 rooms, so you feel like you're getting personal attention. The staff were all helpful, friendly and cheerful. On the down side, the wi-if was hit and miss in some areas. The restaurant and bar closed at 7 pm which I felt was too early. The bar staff also have to cover food orders in the kitchen so the bar is unattended for long periods. Lounger service would be nice. The bath towels were a little small. However the real way to judge any hotel is, would I go back? It's an easy question, the answer is an unequivocal, yes.
If you want the independence of a self-catering facility, the comfort of hotel services, and glorious, glorious beachfront, come to Coral Sands. The Coral Sands Beach Resort is a family business lovingly and attentively run by Rosemarie Stoute, with the help of excellent reception, housekeeping, and room service staff. Located in the heart of the south coast, Coral Sands is in Worthing, a short and pleasant morning or evening walk from Accra Beach and the Rockley area, with all of its restaurants, beach bars, cafés, and shops. It is also less than a 2-minute walk (30-second drive) from Rendezvous Hill, where you will find a large, international-style supermarket (used to be Big B, now it's called Massey), well-stocked with food, drinks, supplies, and sundries both international and local. There is also a full-service pharmacy inside the supermarket. A smaller, convenience store-style supermarket is right at the corner of the south coast road and Rendezvous Hill. Aside from ordering room service in the mornings, we did not use the hotel's dining facilities, so I can only assess the breakfast fare, which was always tasty. The rooms are large, super-clean, bright, and airy, decorated in the lovely tones of the Caribbean: green, yellow, blue, orange, and white. Each room has a balcony, which is great for enjoying the gorgeous views of the Caribbean sea. There is also a pleasant pool deck and swimming pool for those who prefer to swim in a pool. The hotel is a beautiful white coral stone and pickled pinewood structure tucked away off the main road. It is a fantastic location for work or play, and a wonderful spot to have a rum punch and watch the sun set. After the sun sets, take a walk to Quayside Centre, or a little further down for wonderful local and international restaurants and food shops, serving up delicious Bajan fishcakes and flying fish (De Rock Beach Bar at Accra), brick oven-style pizza with authentic Italian or tropical toppings (Mamma Mia), or "slow" Bajan food at the island's most beloved "fast" food chain, Chefette (roti, peas and rice, grilled or curried chicken, macaroni pie, salads). Coral Sands is a south coast gem. We look forward to returning!
Stayed here 4 days. The best things about the hotel-clean,beachfront, nice size rooms. The bad- restaurant food, limited drink selection. Outdated furnishings. The hotel could definitely use a face lift. The pool is small. I did not like the locale over all. It was a bit seedy. You can walk 15 minutes to the GAP for nice restaurants and bars. Don't waste your money for food and drinks at the so called resort. It was very overpriced and food is unappealing. No activies here at all. Even on the beach. We took a cab for 20 US dollars to Brown beach. Lots of fun jet ski, horses, banana boat, All you would expect for a day on the Beach. Also, went to Pirates Cover for lunch here. It was great. You can find other hotels with better hospitality, food, fun and location. The women working at the bar were both Awesome, friendly, kind and fun.
An excellent hotel that we came upon by accident! Made a mistake booking ( the word "coral" confused me!), but what a great mistake! The staff are beyond helpful (we are still here!) and the location and facilities put it, in my view, into the 4 star category. The pool, whilst small, is clean and quiet, with plenty of loungers and never over crowded. The bar area is right by the pool and under a large straw roof. You can eat supper there too. The location is right near the local supermarkets and local shops, including a lovely duty free boutique, as well as being a minute away from the gorgeous Graham Hall Nature Reserve for morning coffee or afternoon tea in an idyllic peaceful and beautiful parkland (saw a monkey wondering around there today!), with a lake full of enormous fish, ducks and the sky alive with birds. Champers, one of the best restaurants on the island is just 7 minutes stroll away (book first) and with a hire car you can access everywhere easily on the island for the usual haunts. The hotel is along a reef, and its beach is divine, with the white Barbados sand and great swimming. But watch the current; it is very strong here. Also the restaurant closes at 7pm, which is a shame as the food is delicious and well cooked. We have begun to cook in the lovely and fully-equipped kitchen, as the prices in the restaurants are high. But take-away food is cheap and just fine occasionally. Also, right now they are building a new apartment complex immediately next door (finishing in 2018); so, it can be noisy in the rooms alongside the building works. We asked to move on the first day and they moved us to a room at the other end of the hotel immediately and with charm and a smile. We will be back here again. It is superb.
the Coral Sands Hotel was exactly what we were looking for - beautiful rooms that include a kitchen - staff was friendly and helpful ! Small hotel which was quite and very romantic ❤️. The location on the beach was great , made it feel we had a private beach walking distance to many fine restaurants and stores in St. Lawrence Gap. We had already decided we will stay here again ,
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days following an Eastern Caribbean sailing trip. The property is tucked away from the main road and a delight to approach. The bright airy open lobby was as welcoming as Jerry at the front desk during check in. Our well appointed suite had lovely views of the crystal clear pale blue sea and pristine white sand beach. The thoughtful colorful comfort touches & artwork around the property were much appreciated. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful and offered great tips for local dining options & attractions. Our bar tender Danielle shared her delicious rum punch recipe with a smile! We were a short walk from local shops for kitchen necessities. The bus stops going in each direction from the hotel were a few steps away & travel by bus or mini-van was $2.00 BBD. We had great strolls to the local eclectic eateries at St. Lawrence Gap and enjoyed the sunsets from our balcony. Can't wait to go back for longer to really explore the Island!
Great location, all rooms seem to have have a fantastic beach view and are spacious, well equipped and clean. Staff are friendly and committed. Its well situated, plenty of good restaurants and bars within a short walk and just off the main drag to Bridgetown if you want to explore further. We will definitely be back!
If you're looking for a place where you can hang with the locals, have the best beach, enjoy a short walk to St. Lawrence Gap and totally decompress, thus is your place! Absolutely great! There is so much great food. Definitely see Harrison's cave. Go to Crane beach to see the Atlantic side. And you must go to Oistins on Friday night. (Uncle George's booth)
Yet, another fantastic stay at one of the best resorts on the Island. The In-house team are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, name badges are not worn which is a real shame, but Suzanne, Carlton, Carl, or Jerry are always keen to help. Rosemary runs the hotel, however, she leaves it to her fantastic personnel (all ten years plus) to make your stay special. The rooms are massive and all sea facing with massive balcony, the resort is on the beach with a private pool! Every room has, large fridge, microwave, cooking rings (essentially a large kitchen. Plus two queen beds and excellent self regulated air con. The pool bar and onsite restaurant are open from early morning to early morning, if no one is behind the bar give reception a nudge and Nicki will appear (as if by magic). Before you arrive you have to book Cool Runnings (internet search email Christine), spend 5 hours (09:00 to 14:00) on one of the best Catamarans on the Island, swim, snorkel, eat great food and enjoy lots of rum and great draft beer (free bar) the on board team make this a fantastic and memorable experience, take lots of sun tan cream and don't forget to tip on your way off the boat! Restaurants are plentiful but your trip would not be complete without a fantastic meal at Champers (walking distance and very special with a sea front table) or The Cliff (taxi). Coral Sands is a short walk from the 'The Gap' (5 mins), lots of good restaurants (the best by far is Primo Bar and Bistro (owned by Cin Cin (one of the best restaurants on the island, (book a table online)))). If you fancy a couple of other 'talked about' restaurants, try Harlequins (value and in the Gap 5 mins walk) or the Lone Star (taxi) The in-house team can book on site but always good to pre book, don't forget to visit the supermarket on arrival (5 mins walk for main supermarket and $5 taxi back or a small hypermarket 1 min walk) fill the fridge with fine wine, great beer, bagels and cream cheese for breakfast and occasional salads for lunch. If in the evening you feel like a touch of fast food to take back to room try the Lucky Horse Shoe (1 min walk) or try the Chicken Barn (1 min walk), does not look much but the food is really tasty...
