This "Hotel" if that's what you want to call it is located behind a load of shops, you have to walk down a ally way to get to it so if your a solo women traveler at night it's not nice to walk through at all!! On arrival the staff didn't crack a smile. Took 20 minutes for them to check us in and then wanting paying straight upfront, which is a first for me. They also wanted 500 baht as a deposit and when trying to explain we had not been to the ATM they got very impatient and demanded the money or we don't get our room, I offered 2 passports as a deposit as normal "hotels" do but still not happy with that, in the end he excepted the passports. The room we got was an absolute disgrace! Dirty EVERYTHING.. no towels no soap no clean sheets, the bed had old food on top of it!!!! and the pillows and the sheets was ripped ! I took the sheet off to fix as the room looked like it hadn't been made up by the cleaners and the mattress was stained to the maximum laying on top of the oldest bed base I have witnessed! Also there was cockroaches in bathroom. (Pictures are attached!) There was a fridge but nothing in it. This is meant to be a 3 star hotel! In my eyes this is a -1. If it wasn't to late and close hotels fully booked due to it being a weekend we wouldn't of stayed in this "hotel. We was originally booked in for 2 nights but as soon as the sun come up we checked out! Didn't even open our bags! Don't be fooled by the pictures on here and on Booking.com because they are not RIGHT! The pictures What i have uploaded is what you get! this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!. Needs closing down.
This place is completely misadvertised. Perhaps the hotel looked like the pictures at one time but look NOTHING like the pictures now. VERY dirty on arrival - you have to enter the property from an alley off of Khao San Road. It smelt like piss and feces. The staff were super unfriendly and unhelpful. Our room was disgusting. It was like a jail cell. Stank of smoke, unclean, very uncomfortable bed. So glad it was only for one night as I couldn't have handled any longer. I don't have particularly high standards when travelling abroad but this was another level of grotesque.
This is my first bad review on trip advisor but it is to seriously spread the word not to stay here. Room was filthy stained sheets towel and curtains. There was no one at check in desk for 15 mins so us and another party had to wait until he turned up, no apology or helpful information either. We had quite a bit of luggage and arrived in Bangkok at 9pm that night after a full day travelling. We were due to stay 2 nights but quickly checked out the following morning and found somewhere else. Disgusting room. Really dampened our first night in Bangkok.
Wasn't expecting anything special but this is the worse place I've ever stayed in. Unhelpful reception staff. Witnessed rats running around reception on two occasions. Walls in room were painted white at some point but now they are filthy. Towels that are so threadbare I wouldnt dry a dog in. Just pay a pound or two more and stay somewhere else.

Sadly, I have to agree with the other reviewers here. The staff are miserable, sour-faced people who clearly don't enjoy their jobs. I have an eyesight problem and arrived several hours ahead of my husband at the hotel, where we had booked, in order to connect with friends we had not seen in some time, and to go to a temple nearby for the Songkran festival. It was almost 2am, I was tired, my eyes were totally not adjusting and I could not see to fill out the documents. The young and old guy were very irritated with me when I told them I could not see the paper to write the info. Aside from a couple they turned away, I was the only other guest there. What's the problem with helping an old lady who can't see to fill out her details when you don't have anything else to do? The next day, there was a miserable older lady and a young girl at reception. I noticed they had storage for 20 baht a day sign at reception so I asked if I could store my computer there every day as the door on the room did not seem very secure. The miserable lady says: "No! You have a room, don't you?" And carries on playing on her phone. When she noticed me still standing there, she said:"Actually, my storage is full, so take your computer with you." During Songkran Festival in Khaosan Road??? No ways! Other than them, and having to pay 5 baht to use their stinky toilet downstairs, finding old soaps and used cups and bottles in the room, we found the location to be ideal. The old lady and and the sweet ladyboy who served food from a spot in front of the hotel were really wonderful and focused on service. I really liked them. However, we will go and stay at the other Sawasdee hotel in future with it's great staff and service, thanks...
I took my mum and my son to the palace to pay the respect to our King Rama9. We booked this room cause it's reasonable price and near the palace. The room is small, and not that clean. TV can't watch as I'm Thai with my kid, he wants to see cartoons, but the TV didn't have the clear signal. We didn't have that much problem as I'm a budget traveller, so I know how to deal with this. The hotel is in Khaosan road, of course, the music is loud. Please consider changing if you can't sleep with the noise.
I've been traveling to Asia for a long time and I use to love staying here. The rooms are basic but a good location. The rooms always use to BE CLEAN AND TIDY and had a mini bar (you have to pay for) and your room would get cleaned everyday. I was suppose to stay here for 5 nights but checked out after 3 nights. The walls were dirty and hadn't look like they've been painted or cleaned in a long time. There was used comdoms under the bed and rubbish. My room wasn't cleaned once, even though I asked several times and put the "clean me sign" on the door. Reception said if I pay 300 baht the cleaner would clean my room....WTF The mini bar was empty, the fridge didn't work very well. The food was disgusting. I had to pay for the Wifi when it was suppose to be free. The TV had two channels that worked. BBC news and a French news From a great hotel where it was easy to meet people to a run down hotel filled with rude staff. No wonder they have always got vacancies. I asked a German couple what there room was like and it was the same and they have stayed there years ago and were checking out early as it was run down What a shame, I'll take my business else where. To the owner of Sawasdee group, your losing money and loyal customers. I hope you can turn this hotel around and make it a great place again. Your photos on your website look nothing like the state it is in
worst hotel and service I visited the Great dirt in the hotel lobby and Toilet dirty everywhere stinks of urine Personal reluctant Breakfast we did not give anyone recommend Perhaps the only major adversary
i was stolen by reception officials, at check out they refused to return the deposit on the key, alleging that the same was not been charged. be careful if you want to arrise at the hotel, do not forget to get received for everything
