I had a hard time finding affordable hotel near Khao San road since most of them are fully book. I also don't want to stay in a hostel. I came across this hotel at booking.com which offered low rate. I booked it anyway even if I saw negative reviews. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. When we arrived after a 9-hour bus ride from siem reap, we were welcomed with a smirk from the male receptionist. He seemed annoyed by our presence and is constantly rolling his eyes. They didn't have our reservations in the system so I have to show my copy from the email. The check in process was so awkward. I have requested for a twin room but they gave me single bed room. I went back to the reception and told him. He gave me another key slightly slamming it on the counter. The room is nasty, you will just be given two soaps and one tissue roll. The bathroom door has its lock broken, the blanket is damaged so as the bath towels. Even if we just payed $14/night at least we are expecting to get clean and presentable room. Please stay away from this hotel. Maybe staying in a hostel was a better choice than this.
Very small room, noisy and dirty place.there is no internet in the room and ridiculously slow in the hall.fake pictures in the website.very disappointed, this place must to be shut!stay away from there!!
The room looks absolutely nothing like the pictures, which we are used to by now after travelling around Indonesia and Thailand for a couple of months, but this place is a mess. There's mould in the bathroom and all over the walls, the room is tiny, spring sticking out of the mattress and WiFi is crap. This was in fact the better of the two rooms we saw, we had to be moved because the shower broke immediately in the first room. There are two good things about this place, one is that despite a spring sticking out of the mattress it is actually quite comfortable to sleep on, and it's a quiet place to stay considering the location, right on Khao San road. We used the laundry service, 50 Baht per kg, good service but when I picked up my clothes she asked me to check, fair enough, but also gave me three other bags of people's clothes to check...confusing but I did find my clothes mixed in with other people's! I wondered if anyone has ever has their clothes stolen because of this.
Usually I stay in a more expensive and nicer place when in Bangkok. I decided that this was a once night thing and wanted to make it different. I found the cheapest place on Bookings and took a look. Yes it's dingy, yes they are not hyper polite, yes it's dark, small rooms and shady. In fact I was greeted by a guest with "Welcome to Hell!" ominous for sure. But! It was for one night and it was 50% cheaper than the other places in the area. It was quieter then expected and checking in and out was a breeze. This is not a 5 star place, but it's got the location and price. So altogether it was good.
I´ve stayed at this property 4 times in the past accross various visits to Bangkok and my memory of it was that it represented good value for money whilst being a littel run down. This time around, i´m sad to say that I was very dissapointed. The noise coming from Khaosan Road alone was bad, so bad and had it not been that i´d just flown for about 15 hours and had an early morning train to catch, I´d probably not have been able to sleep. The room itself was clearn at least (other than a piece of plastic wrapping sitting on the sink) but it was run down and poorly maintained with holes in the walls and with an air conditioning unit that I couldn´t seem to turn off. The most of putting thing for me (other than the noise) was how dirty the communcal areas were, particularly the bird poo on the window sils as you walked up the stairs which had clearly been there for some time. This place is cheap, i´ll give it that, and you get your own room and bathroom and it´s close to the night action of Khaosan but I honestly don´t think i´ll be staying here again. I have to say however that the one member of staff that I saw both at check-in and check-out was friendly and helpful.
Acutally the pic which was shown on the image was not really. The room was too small only 2 can stand inside the room and only one person can stand inside the restroom. I said with my friend and we were not happy. I did checked with the receptionist reg the bigger room.. you know what there is not bigger room......
This hotel is worse than the worst zoo in the world. Very small room, with no actual beds. Bed is just a mattress on a platform. No furniture other than a broken cupboard inside the room. Very filthy room and linen. No towels and toiletries. Rat dropping over the place. Entrance to the room via a gloomy, smelly, and dirty passage that has no ceiling. Very bad smell in the entire area. There's no proper entrance to the hotel. Have to go through a shanty market to enter the hotel. Most rude staff making the place more awful. Don't get fooled by the photos shown in thier website or other booking sites.
Fortunately I only book 1 night. The staff was totally rude and disgusting. The room was a disaster, very dirty (only the sheets seemed clean) and in a bad shape. It is difficult to find because is inside an alley, and at the night it's dark and terrifying (maybe it's a safe zone, but for tourists that we didn't know it's scary). It was near to Kaos San Road but the noise didn't reach the hotel (was the only one thing good). The photos are a lie, the rooms was not like the picture. DONT GO! You can find better places for the same price in Bangkok. This one is the worst hotel I had been.
We stayed here after flying from London...thank goodness we only booked to stay one night, the sheets were clean (the only thing that was) or else we would of moved hotels... shower head unattached to the wall... the windows backed onto another building and wouldn't lock which I think is unsafe. Luckily I was with my husband or I wouldn't of felt safe walking to and from the hotel at nighttime as it is down a alleyway off of Khaosan Road. Wouldn't recommend when there are plenty of other hotels on the same road for a similar price... we stayed anlther night in Bangkok but moved hotels... the pictures advertised are NOT what you receive.
Never ever go near this place. Had a very bad experience. Staff were so rude and at one point I considered leaving the place at the middle of the night with my 2 year old twins and wife. The staff jsut dont care because they keep getting business as it is in a strategic location near Khao San Road. It was a little stupid of me to choose the place for staying with family
