The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed I wouldn’t even class it as a hotel. On arrival staff member shouting at us because she couldn’t find our booking eventually she did. Gave us our room key which people were already staying in. So had to wait until 12 midnight to clean a new room. Room was dirty as you like . Poo coming out of the shower the sink had no bottom. Dirty sheets, no tv,no WiFi, stunk, extremely loud, not worth the money. Cancelled our second night. NEVER STAY HERE
So me and my friend stayed here for one night as we needed somewhere cheap and near Koh San Road, we made the mistake of not reading the reviews first! So first of all the hotel isn’t sign posted at all off Koh San road, we knew it was somewhere off the road but had no idea where. It ended up being down this long, dark, dingy alley right at the bottom! We was greeted by a very rude receptionist. Yes granted it was 6am (we had just got off of a night bus from Chiang Mai) but she didn’t even say hello or anything, just told us to leave our bags and come back at 2pm! Great! We went back at 12pm and luckily the room was ready just after 1pm. So we got to the room, it absolutely stunk of smoke and the toilet didn’t work. I went down to reception and we were moved rooms by another very grumpy receptionist! The second room didn’t smell as bad and the toilet worked so that was a bonus! The decor was horrendous, holes and cracks in the walls, paint coming off everywhere, curtains coming off the rail. The bathroom was a toilet with a shower over it, very dirty and small. Granted the shower did work and it was hot, can’t really moan about that. There was also an air con unit in the room that worked, so that’s the two good points about the hotel done! The rest was just awful...the whole hotel seemed very dirty, scruffy and unkept. The staff were very unfriendly and rude, literally no one said hello to us or anything!! The pictures that are online of the hotel are obviously old and were taken when the hotel first opened, it does not look like any of the photos that are on booking.com!!! There was also a mouldy fridge in the middle of our room with a dirty sink next to it. The beds were ok but not the cleanest and no quilt, just a scruffy looking blanket. Overall I would not stay here ever again and would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. Yes it was very cheap (we thought we was just getting a great bargain!) but that doesn’t mean you should be staying in these conditions! Honestly, do go!
Stayed there for one night. Very unfriendly staff at check in. Place is run down. The room was the dirtiest we have ever had. Bed was dirty and sunken in. The walls were covered in dirt. Everything was dusty and very very filthy. No WiFi provided. I am happy we had no breakfast there. Don’t go there. The blanket was unusable. It was dirty and full of cigarette holes. It looks nothing like the pictures on booking.com. NOT RECOMMENDED!
For our visa we had to have some kind of accomodation wich we would refer to, so for our first night we booked a budget room. We were already shocked after first glance, but after 14 hours of flying, we took it and the next day moved to another guesthouse... Do not book. Receptionist was rude, the whole house unkept, the room was a joke, dirty and we got only a matress on the floor as a ,,bed", no hot shower....
Backpacking Thailand with my partner, obviously wanting a low budget hostel/hotel and close to popular areas but this was probably the worst place I had ever seen, stayed in cheaper places with much better quality. Nothing was secure, didn’t feel safe to leave belongings in the room, people staying there were dodgey... not a good experience
This place should not be operating. 1'The place is dirty, me and my girlfriend got itchy all the night long, we even putted some of our clothes to sleep on the top of. 2'The pictures from booking.com are such a joke . They are from a room that didn't matches with the real ones. Everthing old and dirty. 3' The bathroom is so small and the net that blocks the mosquitos was filled on the spaces with tissue. The shower is in the top of the toilet. Or you take shower or you use it. 4' There is no internet in the rooms. And the rooms are so small that you will not bother about. The bed and the room is so small for 2 that you will wish to be outside. 5'The noise of Kao san street will reach until 4am. The only good thing is the location and easy access. And even if you are backpacker with low budget, please you have many other options on the area for even less, 100 baht less. FOR FAMILIES PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR YOUNG BABES AT THIS PLACE. IT'S UNHEALTHY.
I am travelling with a budget tour group and we were booked in this hotel. I had read the reviews and figured - it can't be that bad. It is. smell of rotting meat in the room, various stains of unknown origin, hair of all types on every surface. Stuff that horror movies are made of. Avoid - unless you have no choice.
We booked one night here on our way through Bangkok. Should have read the reviews better as we somehow thought we could sleep in this place for that one night before heading forward. The reception was a bit messy but it wasn't too bad and you could see the staff had been advised to be more friendly towards guests. The real horror waited in the room. The place was filthy with stains on the sheets, moldy blanket and curtains, holes in the walls with sloppy patches here and there, the tiniest bathroom you can imagine (at least they had one so it's a plus still) that hadn't seen cleaning in a while. Overall quite terrible but for one night and really low standards it would've been bearable as it is. Biggest problem was the noise that we naively thought the two or so buildings between Khao San would've blocked. Even with earplugs it was really hard to sleep as the music and general noise pumped through the windows from early evening until like 6am. After that was dying down our neighbour came back with a hooker to further improve our experience. Didn't get too much sleep and won't be trying again in here. If you're going to be our neighbour, then this might be for you. Everyone else should find someplace else to stay.
The hotel is poorly maintained. Not clean at all. Wifi is poor. There is no house keeping. It is also difficult to find the location. The only good thing about the hotel is location. Without the location the hotel is a disaster.
Great location with helpful staff. Somsak Wongwansri was very helpful with any questions or requests that I had and found me a room at short notice for extra nights. I stayed here a few times when transiting through Bangkok and would stay again. If you are looking for cheap, basic accommodation in Khaosan Road, then this is an ideal place.
