When I checked in the front lady told us that it is the non smoking room so I smoke outside at the terrace. When I checked out the front people told me that I have to pay 2000 baht fine. Me: Why do I have to pay 2000? Hotel manager: You smoke in the room. Me: I did not smoke in the room. I smoked out side on the terrace and there were no smoking sign on my room terrace. How do I suppose to know that I can smoke in the open space especialy on my terrace. Hotel manager: It is no smoking in every hotel dont you know? Don't you notice that we don't have the ashtray? Me: If you dont allow guests to smoke on their terrace why dont you put the no smoking sign? Hotel manager: The reason why we dont put the non smoking sign on every room is because it doesn't look good for the hotel. Me : How do I expect to know if you don't put the sign? I will sue the hotel. Hotel manager: Becareful I will sue you back. (and walk away) This is what the hotel manager said. This show the rip off policy of the hotel and the bad attitude of the hotel staff. The reason why I paid because I had a very important meeting so I dont have time to argu with the staff and wait for the police to come But I took pic of the terrace of the room to show people how bad the staff. This review will help guests to decide whether they want to make a reservation to this hotel.
Worst staff attitude at front desk ever, especially man in coat(believe is the manager). The manager will always say " no no no no no" to his guests. No smile, no greetings unlike other hotels. Do not recommend to friends or people viewing this. Will definitely not book this hotel again!!
The quality of staff was so bad, especially the staff who stand inside the counter. Room 117 got aircond problem, after check by the staff, he said is setting problem, ask to wait for 10min for cool air. But after 3 hours also the same, call again but can't get any help to solve this problem. Anyway, this hotel have very nice swimming pool and breakfast.
A newer hotel situated about 1km from 'The Street' mall and Big C (which is a better known landmarks for taxi drivers). Taxis are easy to come by as the main street is busy and sometimes hard to cross. A comfortable yet sparse breakfast is greeting you with a small selection of fruit and common Asian fried dishes. Pastries are something to try which were the saviour. The hotel is well equipped with floor mounted citronella burners which give a nice aroma for some who like it yet do not work for the mosquitoes. Facilities are adequate for a couple yet a family would find the small pool busy at night. Staff were very helpful and accommodating which requests if needed. Cleanliness level is high and maintained. Room space is generous and bathroom has a bathtub if needed. Dark marble finishings, yet low pressure in pipes make showering a longers affair than other places and drainage issues could be a problem with age. Eateries are not close yet used cars are. Taxis are needed to travel any distance into the city but the hotel is not far from anywhere. Overall, a pleasant environment with pleasant staff and a clean hotel with adequate facilities if you are looking for a place to stay and spend most of the day exploring the city.
We felt the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There is a large waiting area and can be quite loud when bus loads of people arrive or are getting ready to leave. The front desk was friendly - not everyone spoke English, but we were quickly helped by another English speaking person. The impressive breakfast was included. There is a nice pool which was used by many people. This hotel is a distance from downtown and the airport, so think about the area of Bangkok you will be spending your time.
The hotel is very nice , new , the rooms are lovely , bathtub in room is a very special touch, the pool area is very nice as well. The breakfast buffet is not really for westerns but there is some variety , there is and egg station and toast, so if you are not needing more then that you should be ok. We ordered a taxi through the hotel for the day to take us touring, we asked for a driver that spoke English but his English was very bad. The driver cost us for the day 1400.00 thiland dollars , but it would have been 1000.00 bht if we did not want to go see the floating market, when we went to the floating market they wanted to charge us 4000.00 bht, we did not go what do they think that all tourist are stupid ? Avoid the floating market , there is no places to eat around there . But the hotel itself is good for the right price. Wifi did not work in our room , when asked about it they told us that it's raining ???? There was wifi in the lobby,
Toilet sanitary never been refill after housekeeping although u pay for the same price from first day to third day. The toilet paper never refill as well. When i asked the receptionist said this are their rules. I was so curious how about the customer stay up to 3 days and above? The breakfast was really bad. Not much choice.
Having travelled to Bangkok previously I must have been spoilt by staying in the Banyan Tree as the S Ratchada was quite a step down. The S Ratchada is located a fair distance from the highlights of Bangkok; therefore, be prepared to pay a taxi either on or off the meter. Dependant on the time of day may not be negotiable. However, if you can negotiate go off meter and haggle for your best price. A comfortable walking distance is a number of what I consider to be your average grocery store/shopping mall. Therefore, picture you are in a high density residential area. The reception received what somewhat warm providing you tipped accordingly. Check-in was fairly standard; however, make sure you understand the meaning of a security. My understanding was that they would only take an imprint of my credit card; however, on check-out I was informed that they had taken 2000 Baht from my account as security and if there were no outstanding debt then the money would be deposited back to my account in about two weeks. Not a great deal of money; however, will add up with foreign exchange fees etc etc. Just ask the question and be fully informed. The rooms are basic, hence my title of "short stay only"; however, are clean and convenient. Room service is not too bad with a reasonable selection of dishes for B'fast, lunch and dinner if you are that way inclined. However, my advice is to immerse yourself in the culture and eat out. B'fast may be included in your room rate, as it was for ours. The food is not too bad; however, is in my opinion deliberately tailored to the Asian traveller and not the Western traveller, particularly noting the large quantity of Asian travellers staying in the hotel. A reasonably large pool is located in the courtyard of the hotel. It is clean and well-tended. Nothing special, just enough for a few laps in the morning before you set off or before you turn in for the night. In the main the staff are friendly; however, speak very little English. So brush up on some basic Thai before you go.
Pros. 1. Spacious hotel. 2. cute swimming pool. Cons. 1. Lack of sanitary standard. 2. Location with traffic jam by taxi.(Far from the mrt or bts in the same time.) 3. Possibility to meet group tourists.(Was a bit noisy for me.) 4. a bit dirty room and dining area. 5. Gym wasn't functioning well. I am very glad I didn’t order the room service last night. The way they handle the food there was really not pleasant. The staff gave me the bun and croissant without cleaning his hands even though he was cleaning and organising the kitchen. I got back to him and asked again with another buns with tongs without his hands… He simply asked me like this. “Don’t you eat food with your hand?” Unbelievable. Finally he gave it to me with tongs, but I already lost my appetite. I saw many asian group tourists last night so I didn’t want to have breakfast with chaos… So I went there around 9:30. I was the only one but the restaurant wasn’t that clean after group tourists. It might have been better having it when it was busy, then I couldn’t see it. The hotel generally was spacious. Especially it has big parking area because it is located a bit away from the main district. But nothing there near the hotel. You need to pay 50-80baht for the mrt stations near there. And it is still far from the centres. I recommend this one for the travellers have a car or are okay to spend time and money in the taxi. (Taxi is the only way and BKK is a kind of crowded city especially commute time. For example I took a taxi around 5pm from sukhumvit 29 which is 6kms away. But I could get to the a mrt station near there 6:30pm. And I didn't go to the hotel and went to the restaurant near there first. And I took another taxi again to get there. It costed me 215thb + 55thb) for 6kms... hahaha....... I chose this one to meet a person near the embassy because it was located to near that. It was okay to me but still inconvenient because there was nothing except several hotels. I didn’t like the location. Another reason of this hotel was the gym in the same budget. The gym was small and the smith machine was really not working due to the structure problem. I guess this machine was chosen by the person who doesn’t work out. You basically cannot use it efficiently. So I just ran a bit. But it fluctuated a bit and stuffing without ventilator so it wasn’t that pleasant. There is no ventilator or windows, you know air conditioner is not a ventilator. So I had to open the door when I used treadmill toward massage area of the hotel. Generally It wasn’t that dirty, because I found only several long hairs which is not mine in the room. (One in the bed, one on the floor, one on the bath, one on the toilet. They gave me the room right next to the robby in the same floor. So people could see me, and I didn’t want to feel I am an animal in the zoo. Recommend this hotel for the people who want to be away from the noise of the city and couples who want to be away from the others. But be careful about the traffic and not enough infrastructure near this. Please ask the hotel to give you the room a bit far from the common area. It can be very noisy depending on the cases.
I stayed there last month for 2 nights, the room is huge for just 2 and the king size bed is huge too, it's actually enough for 6 people, overall the room is clean and quite, the only one thing that I wanted to know is the sleepers wasn't brand new, you can see it's used (but I didn't ask and I used my own flip flop) The swimming pool is nice. Breakfast is honestly not good, lack of selection and taste so so. The location of the hotel is not close to the mrt, it's like 30 baht by taxi to the nearest station. Overall my stay was ok.
