Oaks Bangkok Sathorn

The Oaks is one of two towers - the other being the Anantara Hotel - so some care may be needed in interpreting some of the reviews here which appear to refer to the hotel. Having said that, the Oaks rooms although officials an 'Aparthotel' are pretty much standard Asian hotel rooms but with the addition of a microwave, iron and ironing board, basic cooking items (including a toaster - hmmmm not overly comfortable with that particular fire hazard in a high-rise hotel!). Rooms are very clean, but mine was a little 'tired' in places (rings from wet mugs etc on some of the surfaces, partially broken toilet seat hinge) but nothing major especially considering the price, which is very reasonable. My safe wasn't working (leaking batteries) and there was no soap in the bathroom, but both issues quickly resolved. The pool and gym are both very nice, but the staff make the place - utterly charming without exception. It therefore makes me wince to hear rich westerners in the sky bar (part of the next door hotel) loudly swearing and getting drunk and generally being pretty obnoxious - the hotel is 5 star and its always been my experience over decades of travel, that the richer the clientele in hotels/resorts etc, the more obnoxious they tend to be - and that really is the only real negative here - some of the posh/rich clientele you rub shoulders with in the lobby, bar, pool etc are just very unpleasant people - most unlike the charming staff!

We stayed at the Oaks as part of a package deal. There was a very friendly welcome at arrival and we were upgraded to a wonderful modern 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment suite. We felt right at home in our fresh and bright suite. We had aircon and 2 TV sets available. The location of the Oaks is central. We could easily catch a cab at the front of the hotel or walk a few minutes to the train station to catch the train to the shopping malls which are just a few stops away. We love our street food and were able to find anything and yummy food just around the corners. And I should also mention that we had our own washer dryer in the apartment suite which we used a couple of times. Very nice and friendly staff. This hotel gets our thumbs up !

It is barely a 2 star BEWARE filthy ... old furniture months of grime . Lovely staff but destination beauty ask u to upgrade to 5 star pay more and hotel much worse than somerset. Washing machine on balcony. Honestly like not even 2 star.

King size bed with huge bathroom, and good sized kitchen net AND living room/dinning area. Nice big TVs. Only thing I could recommend, no soap for hands supplied in bathroom, stayed twice here an , lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. But no hand soap...!? Only thing I can complain on, with this too.. Oh an room service forgot to empty the bins in room once..

5* property at a good value I stayed at this place with my family in a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and I simply loved it. The living area was very spacious and the master bedroom was amazing with a very good view of Bangkok city. The second bedroom was comparatively smaller but had a good view. The bathrooms were also neat and clean but the shower head could have been better. The kitchenette was also decent with all the necessary equipment’s. Anantara & Oaks shares the facilities like gym, swimming pool, steam, Sauna etc. All the facilities are well maintained but the only issue which I found was that they did not have any lifeguard or anyone at the pool area. Even the changing area is well inside the building and not close to the pool area. For basic requirements Family Mart is just below the building and the BRT train station is also just 10 mins walk from the Hotel. You can also visit one of the bar & restaurant which is located on the 38th floor of another building with an excellent view of the city Overall I liked this place and had a wonderful stay.

My partner and I stayed here with our 8 month old daughter for 3 nights. Rated as a 5 star hotel, we stayed here as a smiley member was getting surgery through destination beauty and this hotel was a 5 star upgrade. Personally, this is a 3 star hotel. On arrival the 1 bedroom apartment room was not air conditioned, the bathroom didn't seem like it had been cleaned (marks on bathroom sink, finger marks on mirrors and doors, soap canister dirty,) there was no mini bar or bar snacks. The bottoms of the long draped curtains were also filthy. We were then upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment, alot bigger and air conditioner was turned on by request. Bathroom was still not 100%, so the poor conditions must be a standard. The larger shower head couldn't be turned on either. The tv in the bedroom was broken. Enough said. The positives of this hotel are the friendly staff and food.

The Oaks Bangkok Sathorn is linked to the Anantara Hotel and shares many of the facilities such as the restaurant, gym and swimming pool. I stayed in a 'studio room' which was comfortable and a reasonable size; it was equipped with a microwave oven as well as crockery and cutlery. Expect for the noisy airconditioning unit, which is in an enclosed compartment next to the balcony for each room or suite (it was noisy even when the air- con was turned off in the room!) the room was quiet, clean and well maintained. The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located and is about 10 minutes walk from Chong Nonsi skytrain station (BTS). Overall I would recommend Oaks Sathorn Bangkok and would stay there again.

We stayed 2 days in this hotel, the personals (Don, especially) was amazing! They are always there for you for any questions and informations. The breakfast was crownded at 9-9:30 am but worth it! They have a salad bar, asian foods (thaï, chinese, japenese like sushi), you can also choose your choice of crispy and soft bacon, you have a soup noodle bar, pastries bar and eggs bar! With cooks who cook infront of you. The pool is on the second floor with a great view. Anantara and Oaks is in the same place only 2 differents buildings who share the pool, restaurants, spa & gym. They have a skybar in the 38 floor and the view is breathtaking! (360) i recommend you to stay at this hotel for buisness, couple or family. If you walk about 10 minutes, you can take the skytrain (to do)! The cons is that the air conditionner doesn't work at the second day, we call the reception to fixed it but nobody came... so we sleep with 29 degrees in our rooms... and the temperature of the shower was not really constant (put on warm but go back to cold). Also we didn't have soap for washing our hands, we had to take the body gel to wash our hands. When we get to the pool, we had no service to order a few drinks and to eat we wait about 30 minutes without some came to us so we get back to the room. Except that, the hotel was fantastic!

I have been working in Bangkok for almost 3 years now and staying in Oaks made life easier after exhausting hours working. The staff are so friendly that they have been great friends through out the past years. Facilities like the gym, pool and others are at par. Having the basics needs like washing machine, ref, induction coooking plate, microwave, iron and board, microwave in the room made it more convenient for long staying guest. My only wish :-) is that they have more facilities for active people like me. It wouldn't hurt if they add a basketball ring on the tennis court, table tennis on the vacant area on the side of the gym, badminton court and others. Overall I would highly recommend staying in Oaks Sathorn Bangkok.

This was one of my best experiences ever. I stayed here for 2 weeks. I was treated like a queen. The service was excellent. The staff were excellent. The accommodation was top notch. The food was really good. I was always greeted with a smile and no matter what I asked for, I was assisted with professionalism and friendliness at all times. Never once did I have a bad word to say. I will definitely be staying there again. a huge 100 stars for this hotel and it's staff. It is located a little way away from the big malls, but a 10 minute walk to the sky train and you on your way. Easily accessible. Taxi's on call all the time. Excellent doorman and concierge who will assist you get to and from any place you want to go.
