Last year, I had good reason to criticise this hotel for the random service provided. On this occasion, having been seriously let down by a dishonest hotel not so far away, I headed for a place I could at least trust and I was not let down. Reception (at the massive walk in rate) was impeccable, the room was as expected namely comfortable, well-equipped and clean. Breakfast, as always, is a treat so I can only say this time that I really appreciated this hotel.

Have spent 6 nights in this Hotel. Very warm atmosphere. Staff friendly and efficient. Check in was quick. Room was clean, very nice and bed was really comfortable. Had also lunch in their Restaurant and my Green Curry with chicken was delicious. Location is very good. Close to Metro MTR and Sala Daeng Skytrain Station. In front of the Night Market. Along the Suriwongse Road you can have an ample choice of Restaurants from Italian, Western, Thai, Chinese and Japanese. The Pool is really nice. Suggest to book this hotel for your next vacation here.

Given the option I'd rate this as good, but not very good. It's an old style, traditional city centre hotel that at busy times is an hour and a quarter driving time from the airport, assuming you use a taxi and are not attempting to drive yourself. The hotel has a large lobby and reception area with plenty of staff who seem to have tremendous amounts if paperwork to complete just to register guests. We had a nice large-sized 'Superior' double room where the light switches seemed to be in all the wrong places - funny what strikes you! Seemed to need a bit of a refurb or modernisation in many aspects. We three couples travelled for 50 days and this was the 20th hotel of our trip and the overwhelming comment from the others about this hotel was that a lot of minor things were wrong, broken or even unsafe in our rooms. The bathroom was good although it proved difficult adjusting the shower to the correct heat and keeping it adjusted. The wi-if was adequate in the room but better in reception, although it only allowed for two devices. I never worked out if the bottled water in our room was to pay for - why don't they tell us. If in doubt I don't touch it! TV channels were totally useless for Brits or other English speakers. One thing we really would have appreciated after 6 weeks on tour would have been self operated clothes washing machines and dryers, obviously not in our rooms, and an iron, ironing board and clothes horse in the room. Surprisingly this was one of the few hotels we used without ironing facilities in the room. A great hotel if you want to frequent the night market.

Quite old hotel. Got a problem with the bathroom shower during our stay but maintenance attended to it immediately. Location is accessible and is in the nearby shopping areas. There is a night market but nearby nightclubs are not good for minors as doors are open to the public view.

My first stay last 2014 is fine. But coming back today, I was surprised as I booked my stay in advance - few weeks ago but their rates in Agoda (last minute) is cheaper than everyone will get even if you book few months in advance. I paid USD 70 for a Superior room without breakfast but in Agoda for last minute, Superior room (including breakfast) at USD 51/ room night. I would like to speak to their Manager but the staff said that the Sales went outside. I said I would like to speak to your Front Office Manager, then the FOM came. I informed nicely my concern the. she said... “that is normal. you booked already and is already past” and she even mentioned “Even if you complained to Tripadvisor or any website, you can do” then left me hanging. So I just stopped and left the reception disappointed. They don’t have any bellman who will escort you to the room. They will just give the key and you find the room on your own. As what every guests informed, yes the internet here is sooo slow. I called at the reception if it’s normal for the internet not to be connected but the Manager who answer my call said “I will let my colleague to check for you” I’ve been waiting but no one can update me and no one comes back to me so I just decided to just use a 24 hour promotion for internet service on my mobile provider than using the hotel’s internet. By the way, you have to prepare a 2000 THB cash deposit or they will block your credit card for that amount. All in all, there were a lot of hotels now nearby and I would never come back here anymore!!! They don’t have a heart on their work. The Front Manager looks so tired of her job that is why her team also lacks compassion and customer service to the guests. I will never come back here anymore.

the hotel is located in the middle of Silom with many attractions as well as night life in walking distance. it is a large hotel maybe in some areas a bit outdated but still with charm and flair. Reception Staff very welcoming and pleasant. Restaurant Staff maybe a little rough in their aproach sometimes but this is caused by the fact that english is not their main language. Rooms are big and clean, furniture a bit outdated and the bathrooms could do with a refurbishment, but its clean and thats one of the most important things. Lots of Amenities in the Bathrooms including Bathropes which u do not find in every hotel of this level. Breakfast Buffet could do with some improvments on the quality of products, the variety is fine.

The hotel rooms are the old design since the 80s such as old TV (no LCD), air-con, fridge, etc. Room are functional and clean. If you are looking for refurbished rooms, you could book another hotel. Location near Patpong area, 10 mins walking distance to Samyan mrt station.

Yes good location near Patpong....but unacceptable traffic noise (room 1012) for so called 4 star hotel. I was moved to another room but only after I stood my ground. Back to basics Montien, if guests cannot get a comfortable night's sleep then you have FAILED

Booked this hotel because everything else was sold out because of the Chinese new year. This hotel has seen it’s glory in the 1980’s. You feel like living in a museum and not in a good way. You have kneel down to wash your hair and I’m only 183cm. Reception very unorganided both at check in and when leaving. Finally after check out requested a normal taxi to the airport, got a normal taxi but price was 800 baht paid to the hotel. I guess they split the money, because normal price is 400. Avoid this hotel!

This is a comfortable large hotel. The rooms are clean and nice. This hotel is convenient walking distance to shopping, and restaurants. The front desk people very accommodating. My only compliant is with the concierge who could not quote prices for entrance fees to some of the attractions, and to book a taxi through her to Pattaya was an extra 1000 bhat more than hiring one yourself.
