It was a very very nice place to stay. The rooms though old and aged where near and descent. The TV could have been upgraded. It’s still the old CTV. The rooms are big and spacious. The toilet was missing the Health Faucet and u have to go with the toilet rolls (for Indian travellers) Breakfast was awesome. One of the best places where puri was nice (for Indian Travellers). Walking Street is just opposite to the Hotel. I had spent just one night and felt it’s a good place thought little old place.
We have just returned from a two night stay at the Montien. It's location opposite the Patpong Night Market was great however we were disappointed in three things. (1.) TV reception was poor with no Cable TV. (2.) Internet was only intermittent in our room. and (3.) Although we booked a NON-SMOKING ROOM we were given a very smelly smoking room which we were not happy about. The room however was clean and roomy. We found the staff were very efficient and friendly and the entrance foyer and lounge area was very nice.
Stayed here for 2 nights, the reception area was very nice and all staff pleasant and helpful. My room was in the older section of the hotel and was ok but could do with a good revamp. Breakfast was very good
Like any aging person, the hotel has definitely seen better days. The rooms are in need of an overall upgrade. My room was clean and spacious, but the bath/shower facility left much to be desired. The shower head was at about a five foot level, meaning you had to do a semi-squat to wash your hair (I'm 5'10"). And it lacked any hand rails which made it very insecure. The breakfast was good and the doorman, who's been there for over 30 years, is very good.
I had stay for 14 days and I am glad I choose the Montien Hotel Bangkok. I cannot understand some negative critiques I read hear. It appears that they stayed in a different hotel. My experience, after such quite long stay: The staff is extremely professional, nice and helpful. Reception desk employees, porters, concierges. The responsible of this fantastic team was Mr. Danai, permanently looking after the satisfaction of the clients. This high level of the staff, corresponding to a very good 5 stars Hotel, made my stay much more comfortable. Thank you very much Mr. Danai. Regarding the building, the Hotel entrance, the enormous lobby, hall and all the ground floor is really beautiful with excellent Thai decoration. The hotel was built 50 years ago but it is very well maintained and so it ads charm instead of being something negative. The rooms are very big, again the beautiful Thai decoration and perfectly clean. Everything worked properly. One day a lightbulb melted and in the afternoon was already replaced. Beds and mattresses of maximum comfort. Good bathroom with plenty of amenities. Nice swimming pool and small but perfect fitness gym and sauna. Amongst other shops and cafeterias in the ground floor is placed a Bakery that in my opinion made the best croissants of Bangkok. I fully recommend it. Of course I will go again to Montien in my next visit to Bangkok.
This is one of my favorite hotels and always will be. when you travel for me i like being remembered from the last time I was at the hotel. This hotel has a guy at the front in the carpark and always remembers faces, he is absolutely amazing ..He remembered when I first started staying at the Montien and never forgets. Heis the first to help with bags or to get a taxi or tuk tuk, and he tells the drivers to look after you or he will hear about it. He is a gem ... The hotel is always beautiful and stafff r great and always helpful .
I spent almost a week here and book two types of room: deluxe and superior. For Deluxe is a big room, especially because I was alone here. There is big working table too so I can spent hours in front of my laptop comfortably. But the TV is terrible, the signal is bad so I just can watch the local channel (which I don't understand the language. The breakfast is so so... Nice but limited of choice. And it is not separated between halal and non-halal food, for muslim like me it will be difficult to choose. So i just took egg and fruits for breakfast. Move to Superior room, the room is nice: old furniture but clean. In this room TV channel is better, I can watch some channel like Natgeo or fox sport, but still there is not movie channel like HBO. The hotel itself seems the old hotel, room key still use old key (not card), the display in the lift not use digital either. But overall all is nice and clean. The lobby is very big and internet also available free for all rooms. One of the advantages is that the hotel just across the Patpong Night Market, one of tourist destination in Bangkok
No hot water in our bathroom, the kids adjoining room has hot water but tv doesn't work. My husband and I had to sleep in single beds. Location is fantastic - opposite pat pong night market hence why we stayed here. Dated rooms but hallways/corridors are gorgeous. Mixed feelings about this place
Stayed at this hotel a day longer than we were planning. We reserved two rooms with the breakfast option because we brought my wife's niece with us. Apparently it doesn't matter if there is one person or two in a room, the hotel charges for two people for the breakfast. My wife's niece had a friend from college come and visit one morning. We asked her to join us for breakfast. Well, we found out that even though we paid for two breakfast for her room she would still have to pay extra for the breakfast. Moral of story? Say two are staying in the room even if there is only one. Also, Wi-Fi is terrible in the rooms. Had to use own data plan to get any reliable internet. Shower is old and needs to have nozzle replaced or cleaned out. The staff is friendly and tries there best, but they too must not go against hotel policy. So no blame to them. Wouldn't stay here again.
The hotel has two parts . One part is apartment and another part is flat . The hotel is so so . It located at City centre so is crowded . In general that area isnt so clean . Price is good . But this hotel isn't delux one .
