The hotel isn't right off the main road, you have to walk through a very skeptical looking road to get to it. I never felt unsafe for what its worth. Our room was very spacious, and clean. The pool is nice, but looks much bigger in the pictures. Don't pay for an expensive massage at the hotel, there are tons of good places that are half the price on the main road. The staff didn't seem to care for us as much as the other guests that were staying there....I guess we didn't look fancy enough for them.

At the time of check in I was upgraded to a better room.the staff friendly.close to the train station and walking distance to night life with many outside food vendors and many bars.

Good hotel in nice location! Only stayed one night Nice pool bar

Gave us extra living room with full kitchen for free

Stayed at GC twice during recent extended visit to Thailand, thoroughly pleased both times. Very nice downtown hotel in every way. Suites are imaginatively designed and comfortable for long stay. Staff gets it right with local recommendations and friendliness.

Location is close to the train station which is convenient. But not the best será to day at in Bangkok. Room was spacious and clean. One of the concierge guys was not pleasant at all. And one of the hotel staff members helped us get a cab and gave the driver instructions to take us to the wrong airport! Huge misunderstanding and we almost missed our flight. Poor service and attention to detail as we had show him out itinerary before getting on the cab.

Everything you could need is right there in the hotel or within walking distance.

Hotel's good points were: 1. Quiet location one block off a very busy main boulevard. Every square inch of the boulevard contained shops and other hotels plus an endless supply of sidewalk vendors, meaning you were never at a loss for entertainment or the ability to scratch the shopping itch when necessary. It also was home to one of Bangkok's overhead BTS train lines so getting around was easy, especially since the hotel's train stop was conveniently close. 2. The floor where our room was located had the rooms down short halls with turns in each to help block noise. Rarely did we hear any other guest conversations in the hallways when we were in our room. 3. We had a nice selection of restaurants and stores in our immediate vicinity, including a full service market which offerred a large selection of fully prepared, very tasty meals and drinks if we decided to eat in instead of going to a restaurant. 4. Our room had a southern exposure which was unhindered by any other nearby high rise buildings. This afforded us a very nice view of Bangkok and gave us a sense of open space in our room.

I enjoyed staying at Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel, Bangkok. The location will bring you the real taste of Bangkok with little shops, street-food vendors in the carts and sidewarlks and small streets. The only thing I did not like was the expensive internet connection. Nevertheless I recommend this hotel for a great stay especially if you can stay away from your computer.

Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly. I was lucky because they have upgraded me to a suite room without even asking. My only thing about this hotel is the internet is not free.
