At Ease Saladaeng

this is a small hotel with comfortable beds and pillows, free wifi, room safe, refrigerator and good breakfast. It is very clean and quiet and very close to restaurants, the sky train and malls. The staff is friendly and efficient and there is a free shuttle to the mall and sky train. A park is nearby.

We had a suite with sitting room and a nice kitchenette. The bathroom set up was a bit odd (there was a shower outside tub area with no curtain). The room had Good space and a good location. It was close to Lumphani Park, but not near grand palace, etc.

This is a very nice boutique Hotel, located near the train, Hotels and restaurants. Had a couple of Starbucks nearby and a 7/11 (all over southeast asia) down the street that is opened 24/7. After a very long flight I arrived to a nice looking room, clean and had AC. The AC was noisy but I called them about it and they came right away to fix it with duct tape. There might be a little upgrade needed but for the most part it was very nice for me. Construction is all around but considering I was gone all day I missed hearing it and the night time was quiet. Many restaurants of all types of food nearby and easy access to travel outside the city. Across the street is the side entrance to Toyota Business headquarters. Inside this bldg is a Starbucks, Fuji Restaurant (sushi), a back exit to a side street filled with small outdoor restaurants and a front exit that ran parallel to the highway, down the street from the train and a very nice hotel with many restaurants. Definitely a nice Boutique Hotel.

This hotel suite had plenty of room with a king-sized bed, a sitting room with a table to serve 2 people, a bath tub as well as a shower, a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator and stove. The location was good as was the food served at breakfast. The only complaint was with the elevators which were not entirely efficient.

As part of a 16-member Overseas Adventure Travel tour group, I was pleased to see that the group was booked in a 4-Star hotel. It seemed curious, however, that TripAvisor reviewers/guests had rated this as number 404 of 841 Bangkok hotels. Way down the list. The good: Suite 705 is spacious and has a full-size kitchen—though compact—adequate bedroom, and living room with a balcony. The spacious bathroom has separate shower and tub. Combined, these features make the suite larger than many Manhattan apartments, more like a residence than a hotel room. The bad…and the ugly: Hotel staffers try really hard to please but miss the mark, probably because they apparently don’t understand English. I asked someone at registration to phone the tour guide. She told me that he did not answer and that she could not leave a message. Later I learned that she chose not to leave a message. I had difficulty logging onto the hotel computer (I’m a dinosaur without a laptop or cellphone☺) and explained that I needed to send the tour guide an email, since she couldn’t leave a phone message. After three phone calls and eight minutes, she provided Nop’s email address—which I had, if I could have logged onto the hotel’s computer. The two staffers discussed the matter in Thai language for several minutes and then totally ignored me. Although the manager speaks excellent English, he was not at the hotel and insisted his staff spoke English. I’m sure he asked them in Thai if they did. Lack of communication aside, At Ease is in the developing area of Saladaeng, which is a 15-minute walk from the nearest SkyTrain station. It’s surrounded by skyscrapers but there are few area restaurants. Walking to the Night Market/SkyTrain station, I passed an open air community marketplace and food court that is open only during the day. Eight HUGE rats ran out from the food court area onto the sidewalk, inches from my feet. I found it safer to walk in the street. No, At Ease is not responsible for filthy conditions in the neighborhood, but consider this when booking a hotel in the Saladaeng area. I’ve notified OAT, the tour company of my dissatisfaction. Perhaps this bad experience will encourage a truly superior tour company to select a quality hotel. Avoid At Ease Saladaeng!

Disgusting smell in this room, like a sewer. The air conditioning unit in the bedroom drips and the carpet is dirty and mildew. The shower area has black spots on the tile and the towels, may be clean, but they are gray and thin. If I was not on an Overseas Adventure Travel tour I would burn this place down. Tour company needs to rethink this choice as a first hotel.... Not the best impression! As others said, it's like a small apartment but very dingy. Came in at 8:00 pm last night...no restaurant past 3:00 pm...some in the area, but I'm not eager to walk outside....

The room was spacious and had a kitchen. The location was convenient to walk to restaurants, shops, and transit but was a bit noisy. The room was a bit shabby. By far the biggest issue was lack of cleanliness. For example, when I checked in, the glass is the bathroom still had leftover toothpaste from a previous guest. The glass was never replaced or cleaned during my entire stay. The floor was not very clean, either. The service was mixed - a request for ice was met promptly and courteously but other queries were not.

The rooms are good sized suites with décor that is reminiscent of a 1980's dorm room complete with a "boom box". If you have any old cassette tapes and are wondering where you can find a place to play them book this hotel. The room also comes equipped with a fax machine. The rooms are very run down looking and rough around the edges. The housekeeping department could do a much better job. There was candy on the floor when I checked in and I found a quarter under a trashcan in the bedroom. The only way I could tell the room had been cleaned was because the bed would be made and there would be new (?) towels in the bathroom. I scattered small bits of paper around the suite to see if they would be cleaned up and two days later when I checked out they were still there. The hotel does not have any soundproofing and the location is loud until roughly 10 - 11 PM at night. If you like to go to bed early this is not a good choice of a hotel. Be very careful with the towels in the room because if you get them dirty they will charge you 200 Baht. I asked if I could continue to use a towel they said I damaged and they refused saying that if I wanted to do that I would have to buy the towel for 1500 baht (the equivalent of $45 US) - the towel was thin, old, and rough - you could probably buy 10 of them for that price. The service staff is apathetic at best. No one smiles and no one seems to care about their job or the satisfaction of the customers. There are a couple of good points about the hotel - the size of the rooms is nice and the water pressure is good. But that is about all that is good about the hotel and isn't enough to make it worth recommending. If you are on an OAT tour in Bangkok you will most likely be staying here - but if you don't have to stay here I think you can find much better options in Bangkok.

Despite the suites in this apartment hotel being well laid out and potentially convenient for a long term stay, I cannot recommend it at this time. There is a major construction site across the way with work ongoing from early morning until late evening. My air conditioning unit started noisily leaking late one night and when it was serviced the next day it was obvious that it had not been properly maintained. The same could be said of the living room unit that took two days to be have servicing completed. The rooms could be cleaner, the carpet in my bedroom could have used a replacement.

Close to the business district. Actually little apartments with kitchens, everything you need for cooking. Many good restaurants nearby so you might not need the kitchen. Very friendly staff. Dollar value.
