The Rimrock Resort Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Too far from town and too pricey and parking is a bit much.

This hotel has a nice view of the mountains. That's about it. The more than $400/night rate is really not worth it. I stayed here because the other hotels were booked. Other hotels offered breakfast, this one didn't. Not sure why it's so expensive. Valet is not included either. There was a question about the rate and the staff seemed arrogant. It felt like a training hotel. I'll go to Banff again, but I won't stay here.

Staff was very helpful and friendly, and the view was second to none.

The Rimrock is a wonderful property, a few Kilometers south of Downtown Banff and right across from Upper Hot Springs. The only complaint: the room ventilation was terrible. We did have Enginering check on it! There was no way to cool the room and the windows are latched in the Winter. They offered is a fan which helped move the sweltering air around. Other guests had the same problem. We won't return until the correct the ventilation technology.

We were very disappointed that Orbitz did not advise us that the the dining venues were closed - Eden & Primrose. Part of the reason we chose this venue was becuase Eden is rated #1 for dining in Banff by TripAdvisor. We were very disappointed. Front desk manager did provide a nice room upgrade. The cocktail list in Larskspur was exceptionally good as was the food. the views are stunning, service is excellent. Really like an indoor accessible garage. Pool, hot tub and accompanying womens locker areas appeared somewhat tired and not spiffed up clean.

Stayed at Rim Rock Dec. 24 - 30th...had a great experience! This hotel is top notch, from the beautiful top of the hill location to the cozy ambiance. Service was superb, complimentary shuttle to town convenient. Concierge ski storage and prompt transfers to the Sunshine and Lake Louise ski shuttles. Apres ski cocktails and dining in both Divas Lounge and Larkspur were excellent. We checked out the Fairmont Banff Springs and are so happy we went with the Rim Rock. It's much cozier! Beds were very similar to the Westin Heavenly bedding.

Although the hotel location itself is not within walking distance to the town center, it provided everything we needed. This is an upscale hotel that strives for customer service. All areas were very clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend, this is a great hotel in the Banff area.

Staff is excellent, articulate and very helpful. We arrived a day early (stupidly on my part) for the reservation, got an upgraded exquisite room with an inspiring view. Turned out beautifully.

great experience but pricey! Very clean hotel. Staff were helpful.

Great Staff, great facilities, great view. Away from traffic of downtown, had shuttle to town.

I had a fantastic time in this hotel, IF u are looking for a great view of Banff stay here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that goes to Banff.

Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, giving recommendations of where to eat at the ski resorts and always with a friendly smile. We had a Grand View room and it did not disappoint! Would absolutely stay at the Rimrock again. Only complaint was the food at Divas was described as "refined pub food", it was run of the mill and was out least favorite meal of the trip.

The service was great, restaurants were great, rooms were wonderful. It is very nice place to stay at.

So much more than a beautiful hotel. Wish we had more time to enjoy it all. Can't beat the service, the staff are absolutely wonderful.

We stayed at Rimrock and we pleased with view and overall the hotel!

Great hotel. Located at a quiet scenic end of town. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. I liked that cribs/playpens were available for my baby. Overall I would recommend this hotel but there were some complaints. I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for parking. I especially didn't like the fact that there was no way around using stairs so I had to carry the stroller up and down a small set of stairs every time I went to and from the parking lot. This was also an issue getting into the hotel restaurant which only had an entryway with some stairs. Next time, if I have a stroller, I may pay extra for the valet service or opt to stay elsewhere. With regard to the spa, the hot tub was nice but the pool was way too cold in temperature to enjoy. Also, my mom got kicked out of the spa earlier than the posted hours by one of the staff for whatever reason. Lastly, the fridge in the room was not cold enough.

Even before our arrival at Rimrock , Thomas, the concierge made dinner reservations for all of our nights at the Canadian rockies. Upon arrival the front desk people were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and well appointed. Our view of the mountains from our room was beautiful. In celebration of our anniversary, we dinned at Eden the 5 star restaurant on our first evening. This 7 course prefixe meal was inventive, beautifully plated, impressively served, and wonderfully fantastic. it was a treat for the eyes and palate. After our three hour dinner I asked if it would be possible to go to the kitchen to see some of the molecular gastronomy techniques used, we were so surprised and honored that our request was granted. All I can say is that the meal rated up with the best we have had around the world. The Rimrock gets our best rating for the entire stay. Great room, happy and friendly staff, great and comfortable common areas. A++++

Great views.....awesome staff.....great food....what else can i say.

Love the hotel. Great experience. Staff are very nice. Room is very clean and comfort.
