Bow View Lodge

Walkable location to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The partnership with Banff Park Lodge next door was needed, as parking was hard to come by and BPL had the pool and jacuzzi. Rooms as you would expect for a hotel.

The Bow View was easy and fast check in. I was placed in a room right next to the elevator overlooking the parking lot which definitely wasn't ideal, although I was surprised to find it fairly quiet. If people are making noise in the hall or the parking lot it was very loud, however. The room was simple, but very clean and comfortable. It is definitely outdated, but for the price I didn't expect much better. Hot tub in the adjacent hotel was excellent, although a little awkward to walk to. The location is amazing!! I hiked the Bow river trail, all through town, and even to the top of Tunnel Mtn all right from the hotel. I never used my car to go to dinner or shopping around town. Parking was a bit of a craziness here, so once I got parked I preferred not to move my car, although I really didn't need to anyway!! Overall, I would definitely stay again.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The Bow river is right next to it. Our room was facing the Bow river. It has the great mountain and river view. The room was ready and clean. The facility was old but it was kept in nice and clean condition. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Average but above average location wise. Right in heart of banff.

Good proximity to Banff right along Bow river trail.

easy walk to downtown.....parking is a bit scarce.

Enjoyed our stay at Bow View Lodge. Beautiful setting overlooking the Bow River, and within walking distance of the picturesque town of Banff. Only drawbacks were limited parking and no breakfast included, but definitely a great place to stay.

Bow View Lodge is located right across the street from the Bow River and is a block from all of the main Banff attractions on Bear Street and Banff Avenue. The room was clean and comfortable.

The room has dated furniture, but it's clean and beds are very comfortable. That's all we need after a tiring day of hiking. The sister hotel next door has nice Jacuzzi, seam room and pool that we can use. The location is convenient to restaurants.

Beware of the train horn sounds which blast all night long.

Close to town center, perfect if you're always outside enjoying the area and hardly in the room.

This is a lovely lodge with a great view. It is in a very relaxing, quiet location, yet it convenient to downtown Banff. The room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this lodge to others,

We started our roundtrip in Banff an stayed two nights in the hotel. It was very clean and cosy.

Bed mattresses were too hard. Unhappy that the hotel charges ONE DOLLAR for each LOCAL call. Staff helpful. Housekeeping did a good job. Would have been nice to include, at least, a continental breakfast.

We were transferred to the hotel next door since they were left with no rooms. The staff at the hotel was very helpful. The location was outstanding. 2 blocks from the main street

One of the highlights of my Western Canada trip was Banff and the Bow View Lodge. It is not a new hotel, and at first glance it may not appeal to those who are used to the higher end lodgings. But my room was clean and spacious with a large window and sliding door to the balcony. The view of Bow River from the balcony was beautiful. The hotel upgraded my room to one with a king size bed and the river view...thank you Kayla! The hotel's location is within a 5 minute walk to the main shopping and dining thoroughfare in the city. And there's also a hiking trail along the river behind the hotel. All in all, a great location for the price.

We stayed here over New Years. The location was the greatest part. Within walking distance from the bus station, major shops and restaurants. However, there were many young young partying guests who were eventually evicted from their rooms, after many complaints. There should maybe be some sort of filter on the age of guests over holidays like this. The room itself was simple and small. The man at the front desk was probably the worst part about the stay. Rude and controlling, we felt as if WE were being treated as the partying teenagers.

I've stayed here many times and do enjoy the experience. The desk personnel are very friendly and helpful. I liked that the inn was within walking distance of the downtown area since parking downtown is difficult. I also loved the view of the river and the nearness to a walking trail along the river. The area can be a little noisy during the day because the RVs have a parking area across from the inn but generally this isn't a problem. My only issue with the inn came when I checked in. The room wasn't ready (in their defense I was about an hour early for check-in time) and I had to wait about a half an hour.

Clean and quiet - near to Banff Avenue but because it is on the Bow it's much quieter than other nearby hotels at which we've stayed. Very well kept up. Would definitely stay here again for these reasons. Also appreciated the stash of umbrellas by the front door that could be borrowed during the rain.

Great value for what we get. Pleasant surprise.
