The staff was wonderful. Unfortunately there is not air conditioning. This was a problem due to medical conditions. They did try to accommodate us by changing rooms. The breakfast and staff were wonderful. Everyone was very helpful.

Very quaint; great breakfast. Staff eager to assist. Centrally located. What's not to like?

I booked the hotel as a place to sleep during a conference I was attending. I shared the room with another attendee, and was pleasantly surprised to find the room was basically two bedrooms separated by a washroom. This worked out perfect! The only downside was an extremely limited amount of parking. Otherwise the stay went off without a hitch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Over all the stay was nice once the cleanliness was addressed. Checking in was quick. However when we got to the room , noticed the floor had not been vacuumed. So started looking around. The bathroom counter had not been cleaned. Dirt piled in all the corners of the bath. Definantly not been cleaned for some time. We then looked at the bed. The mattress pad and mattress cover had stains on it. We then requested to move to another room. Second room was clean enough except for the comforter again. Big coffee stain on it. My advice is to Check the room carefully when you check in.

Clean room. Location is very close to almost about everything. Church, Safeway store, shops and foodshops. We love the hot pool. Friendly and courteous staff which really counted a lot.

Everything about this hotel is great. Location is a short walk to the main part of Banff. Large rooms, very clean. My room had a separate living and sleeping area, much like a one bedroom apartment, but without a kitchen. Staff was very friendly. The heated outdoor hot tubs looked like a lot of fun. The one thing that would prevent me from staying here again is the wife. Although it is "free", it really isn't up to any normal standard you would expect in 2014. I had no trouble connecting, but it was sooooo slow it was basically useless. I contacted the front desk and they tried to fix it for me, but basically they admitted that it was slow. I think today travellers expect at least basic wifi in their hotel rooms. This should especially be the case in a destination, such as Banff, that sees a lot of international travellers. Many of us have no way to connect to the internet other than wifi since cellular roaming is so expensive. I want to make it clear that i am not complaining about wifi that is just a little slow. It was so bad I could not send or receive instant messages or even open simple emails. If this were improved at this hotel, it would be perfect.

Everything was great on our trip. The Banff Aspen lodge is located within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. The staff is great and always smiling, they were very helpful when our car got hit in the parking lot! We loved our stay and will be back!

This hotel sets in the middle of town great location to shops and restraunts. Room was clean and nice but it is a tight room.

Overall this place was okay, but the toilet would gurgle/flush whenever someone above us used the toilet. Started happening around 5am in the morning and woke us up several times. Also had some issues with our door, we couldn't always close the door to our room properly and had to call the front desk. We were told the previous tenants must have done something to the door.

Nice location, close to the main district. Beautiful view, nice center courtyard. The only drawback was that in the 'heat of the summer' there is no room air conditioning.

Nice People, comfortable rooms and relaxing hot tub. Just a short walk to Banff shopping area.

From check in to check out the staff were so friendly and no hesitation to answer any questions we had. The location was central enough to have easy access to everything. The room was a perfect temperature and comfy. Will definitely stay again

Clean room friendly staff. Overall a good stay. Would definitely return.

Positives: Extremely well maintained clean and professionally run. Excellent continental breakfast. Negatives: No in room air conditioning. Also the hotel is located several blocks from downtown. The only way to see Banff avenue is on foot. I would advise a hotel in the 100 or 200 block.

Can't say enough about the staff at the Banff Aspen Lodge. My 3 night reservation was complicated by road closures, cancellations and extentions and the staff took care of everything effortlessly and with a smile. The deluxe room with 2 queen beds was more like a 2 room suite - 2 beds separated by a sink area offered a quiet sleep area while my husband watched TV 'til the wee hours of the morning. Breakfast room was more comfortable than most and the "continental" breakfast buffet was kept clean and well stocked. Did have a small issue of a short in the overhead lighting, but plenty of bedside lamps were provided. In room coffee pots could use an upgrade. Location is good. Would not hesitate to stay again.

The room was a little small for our liking and it was quite dark in the room even with the curtains drawn but it was at least clean. The hotel is a little too close tithe train tracks as I was woken several times by very enthusiastic train drivers that liked to honk. The hot tub was great and the proximity to the shops and restaurants were great.

Friendly staff, clean and close to downtown Banff. Room had separate bedroom and living room both with TV's and separated by bath with dual sinks. We had a little balcony with chairs that overlooked the mountains. Hot tubs were wonderful and they close them at 10 so the noise doesn't disturb the rooms right around them.

very noisy refrigerator, could not sleep the first night. Have to had them unplug the refrigerator the next night. it was warm and there was no air conditioning. The pool and spa were good.

The "continental breakfast" was much better than what we expected - several cereals, mixed fresh fruit, excellent granola, yogurt, muffins, various breads. It was available 7-10am in a small cafe style room with waitresses to bring fresh juice & coffee. We typically like to have a frig in the room so we can keep items ready for a quick breakfast in our room before heading out for the day - we didn't even consider doing that after we saw what the breakfast was like! We did a lot of hiking while there and definitely enjoyed coming back to the TWO hot tubs (there was always plenty of room) to relax. A sauna and steam bath were also available. The location was great also - we could easily walk the couple of blocks to the information center, and downtown shops & restaurants.

We've visited Banff hundreds of times and never noticed this hotel. We've passed it by. That was our loss. This was our first stay there but won't be our last. Despite a mix-up in our reservation, they assured us of a good room. It was more like a suite and quiet. Staff were very pleasant, always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was splendid. I heartily recommend the hotel.
