We had heard a lot about Balthali, but never had a chance to visit the place. Though the roads are not good, we had some knowledge about the road condition but was not aware about how worse it was. No matter how the road is, the place a heaven on earth. The moment we reached the resort, all the difficult road travel just vanished from our thoughts. The staffs kept on following up on where we had reached and gave us a warm welcome. The service was good, the rooms were good, the foods were good, the environment was good. What else can one expect for a day's visit. All the staffs were well mannered and the food (prepared in local mustard oil) was extremely good. We were lucky to see the mountain range from one end to another and the hike to the nearby village (Tamang village) was wonderful as the villagers were also welcoming. Sky gazing during the night time was amazing. Do not miss the chance to talk with the main owner, Mr. Humagain (90+ years old) and listen to how he does the marketing of the resort. This was a life time experience enjoyed by the whole family members. In overall, if only the road is made better Balthali is better than Nagarkot and Dhulikhel for a weekend, new years celebration or group gathering. All rooms are bright and face the mountain ranges.
So one week before the trip we call the hotel management ask for the price and book the rooms as agreed. We hike for an hour and was super excited on reaching the resort to see the beautiful Balthali village from hilltop. When got to reception to ask for our room keys . The respond we got from the hotel management was astounding , he said : " Since the other guests paid more we have given the rooms to them and we have arranged your stay in a guesthouse nearby with BBQ complimentary ". After few exchange of words with the worst hotel manager ever , we finally decided to stay in another resort called Eco Hill Resort . And that was the best thing that happened to us , the entire staff and the manager was very friendly and the whole experience was very happy and pleasurable. Therefore , if you are you planning to hike to balthali this hotel is highly not recommended. Instead go for Balthali Eco Hill Resort , they have tents as well .
From Panauti to the Hotel, the road was too bad which at one point made us feel that our decision to come was worst but after reaching the property we were surprised. The atmosphere was great. Our tiredness was blown away by the pollution free air and the peacefulness of Balthali. The staffs were helpful and friendly. The food was good and so was the room. The only negative point is the toilet flush didn’t work in the morning which was the worst. Overall the stay was good. The roads are under construction so I hope our next trip will be much more easier. Recommended especially for Family and Groups for a BBQ night.
The place is very nice. Rooms are OK but not well cleaned and no proper sewerage system so, the water gets blocked in the washroom. Foods were good but army of flies will keep on roaming around the foods. Overall, less no. of people to manage the place and delay in services.

Definitely, we enjoyed the great unexpected evening thanks to the nice ambiance of this place. We played own Selected Music with high base till 10 pm with hot and Spicy BBQ. Food is tasty but you need to eat fast because of cold atmosphere the food gets cold within a minutes. Not Complain about Food you will get surely. Best time to visit is in Winter. The room is clean and Wide big Bed. Hope to see you again. Wifi is the slow need to improve.
I wanted to give it a full score for the sceneric beauty, but few things were quite disappointing considering the price of the hotel. However, the rooms are clean and comfortable but there was no hot water for shower in the morning and the water finished in the middle of the bath. Further, the cashier of the hotel tried to cheat us with Rs. 3,500 instead of Rs. 350 for a food item while preparing the bill. Otherwise, this place is good to spend one night stay with friends and family.
Spacious place with luxurious rooms and bathrooms Breakfast was good with lots of food items.. Dinner was not so good. Good services.. Rooms were excellent👍👍 Prices they charges are resonable and affordable
Great food, luxurious room and bathroom. Unbelievable quiet and great views from the terrace and rooftop restaurant. Local Trekking possible with personal guidance. Great place for couples less for kids
Good location, lovely views of snow capped mointains but awfully expensive. There were nine of us and we booked 3 rooms each with twin beds. We were under the impression we booked the room, but the next day we all were shocked to find out we had to pay individually 2000 Rs each ($ 20) even though we shared 3 rooms among the nine of us. In the end we settled to pay 4000 Rs (~$ 40), for an OK room.Absolutely shocking!
