We very much enjoyed our time here and found this a very pleasant hotel - but not quite a five-star experience. We had a "deluxe" room on the second floor way in a back corner of the property, which was comfortable and quiet and fairly well appointed. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. We liked the location, which is out of the busy center of town but a long walk, if that is your preferred mode of transportation. We took the complementary shuttle into town, but a taxi back since the shuttle runs on a specific schedule. The restaurant was OK. The breakfast buffet, while plenty of food, didn't really have anything i wanted except eggs, so I ate more eggs that I would have otherwise. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. Internet was OK but a bit slow.
Our most favourite resort in south east asia! Incredible grounds, every inch is worth a look. Gorgeous, friendly, happy staff, always up for a smile and a chat. Five incredible pools.. greenery, statues, and endless hidden gems to relax in. A shuttle to town every hour for your convenience.
Reception was incredibly helpful- have to get a shuttle/ driver to go anywhere as its not really within walking distance of central Ubud but the drives pretty short. Incredible grounds!!!!!!!! Loved their breakfasts too and the variety of swimming pools.
This hotel is definitely worth a visit. It’s like nowhere we have every stayed with it’s beautiful gardens and choice of pools. We stayed in a deluxe room with a dressing room and huge bathroom absolutely perfect. Staff were all lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. You will not be disappointed
A beautifully and tastefully made nature resort. One feels like a king. The spa was also nice. I loved the place. Lovely rooms, pools, environment. The resort also provides free shuttle to Ubud market which makes it very comfortable.
Lovely welcome by all he staff who were consistently helpful and friendly during our stay. Nice spacious rooms? Good food and beautiful surroundings - we couldn't have asked for a better start to our holiday. Set just outside the main Ubud town, there is a shuttle bus every 2 hours there and back which is plenty as Ubud has so many interesting things to see and do. The Mansion Hotel gives a have away from the bustle of busy Ubud.
This is a truly beautiful place to stay. It is a few minutes outside the frantic bustle of Ubud's main streets and is a wonderful calm oasis of lovely gardens, pools, running water and eccentric buildings, where guests are cared for by by smiling, helpful staff. All of a sudden you turn off the bustling narrow roads on the outskirts of Ubud into the expansive gardens and the old Mansion that is the main hotel building. You are greeted as a truly welcome guest and then taken to your room through a maze of pathways that run through more exotic gardens scented with flowers and incense and redolent with the sound of gentle Balinese music. Our room was off a huge, high ceilinged lobby. The room was massive with a huge four poster bed and a large Bathroom with a vast stone bath and two wash hand basins. There were a number of small pools for guests to relax in plus one large one for those that desire more company. The sound of running water was everywhere and there were many comfortable, shady spots if one wished to escape the hot tropical sun. All the staff were, without exception, polite, helpful and cheerful. The food was good, with many local specialities, but as is usual in Bali, fearer than smaller restaurants in town. Contrary to what I have read, the place is immaculately clean and well kept, despite the problems posed by a humid tropical climate. Fantastic place to stay!
Had 2 nights here while staying in Ubud and had a villa in the grounds of the hotel. The staff were wonderful...they organised our drivers and laundry was returned swiftly etc but we did find this was too big a place for us. The resort is huge with lots of people milling about and despite our villa, we do prefer the smaller boutique hotels. However, if you like resorts this size, the hotel was lovely, villa was huge although I agree with some comments that is was slightly dated and there were some H&S hazards on site (cracked tiles, large gaps between stones by the pool etc.) They run a great free shuttle service to and from the resort into the centre of Ubud on roughly an hourly basis which was so useful Coming back on the last lift was busy but the hotel was excellent - had a second bus waiting and for the last couple who missed it they had a car collect them. All the while a representative from the hotel stayed with them. Excellent customer service and we had a lovely stay. Thank you.
The room was decent with the best feature being the massive bed! My girlfriend frequently hogs the bed but not this time! The location is 10-15 min drive. They offer a free shuttle bus to and from the town centre which was very handy. The grounds were fantastic and had several pools. Breakfast was average, lunch was poor and dinner was very good. Didn't enjoy the lack of a front door on the bathroom! Takes your relationship to a new level! Walls were also so thin we could hear our neighbours every move and when they watched tv until 5am it ruined our sleep. Staff very friendly and always on hand to help out.
The entire hotel reeks of mould, our first room full of mozzies and sewer stench, the entire place is filthy all rooms need a thorough scrub and clean, bath towels smell of chlorine, windows cannot be secured, blinds and curtains don not work properly nor give adequate privacy. The sewer was overflowing, drains are blocked and horrible odours throughout the once pleasant gardens. Apparently the mansion was built in 1998 and shows a total lack of maintenance since that time, construction still going. The abundance of staff with very little to do, they are very polite and friendly. Senior management obviously not doing there job. Breakfast is by far the best food on there woeful menu. We are counting down the minutes before we leave, can't wait to get to Seminyak where things are fresh, friendly and clean.
