This hotel is an exceptional hotel for the price. The grounds are immaculate and the pools go right around the hotel. There are many secluded areas to swim and to relax in the pagodas which are dotted throughout the hotel grounds. The food is very good and caters for all tastes. Breakfast is exceptional. This hotel is in the Nusa Dua area which very much caters for tourists. Lefty of shops and other restaurants nearby. A fantastic stay.
Spent 3 nights at the Laguna, after 8 nights in Lombok. We decided to splash out and book a "pool access suite", which was wonderful. Spacious, well appointed and impeccably clean. The Laguna is a big hotel, and the facilities are outstanding. We ate at all the restaurants. Arwana was just outstanding. I highly recommend the Sunday BBQ Brunch. It was the best value offer we enjoyed during our stay. Food was delicious, setting was beyond belief, and service was friendly and professional. Our first night there we were looking for something simple and hassle free, so went to Banyubiru for the International buffet. Not cheap....especially after paying Lombok prices, but again the food and selection was amazing. Again, friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We also lunched at KulKul on the beach. Food was the usual hotel fare, well prepared and served in a pretty setting between the beach and pool. Happy Hour in the Cascade Bar was also enjoyable, but why they call it "Social Hour" is a bit beyond me, and confused a couple of guests I met during our visit. Nusa Dua itself seems to lack any character. Last visit we stayed at the Fairmont (sensational) in Sanur, and found it truly reflected Bali. We often ventured out of the Fairmont for drinks and/or dinner. Not so in Nusa Dua, which is wall to wall 5 star hotels. Don't get me wrong; we had a great time, and, if you choose to stay in Nusa Dua, I highly recommend The Laguna. A perfect spot for serious sunbaking, and enjoying delicious food and 5 star service. Just be ready to pay for it!
We stayed here for the last of our honeymoon, after staying in ubud we wanted some beach for the last part but wish we wouldn’t have left ubud after all! We booked through a travel agents and asked child free hotels - this wasn’t child free at all! We wanted typical Balinese like in ubud but if that’s what your looking for I wouldn’t reccomend Nusa Dua, it is all man made and a massive hotel complex, it doesn’t have any culture and nobody lives there apart from hotels - we wish we would have been told this as we wouldn’t have gone, the hotel itself was absolutely stunning and spotless and beautiful but the staff weren’t as friendly and helpful as the help we received in Ubud, (don’t get me wrong, some of the staff were lovely here too) it seemed some of the staff at the Laguna were only interested in you if you were a villa guest - that from not being allowed on certain areas of the beach if you were just the ‘average’ hotel guest to having less on the menu at lunch/dinner if you were using your half board vouchers - (which ONLY come with tap water and everything else extra) we felt cheated by this, it might definitely be a 5 star looking hotel but we wouldn’t come here again!! If you want to go all the way to Bali to live like an English person this hotel is great for that!
Really impress with this property! We have a great Sunday Brunch at Arwana Restaurant. The staff who escort us to the Restaurant was so very friendly. The food was sooooo amazinggg, so many choices of buffet. And the dessert is the best one!!! And there is some cute squirrels. Anyway all of staff will always smiling and helping you.
I have been to Bali at least few time and previously stayed in the areas like Jimbaran, Ubud, Seminyak, Kuta, but first time in Nusa Dua. And I have to say that now Nusa Dua is my number 1 choice for couples and family vacation. We were hesitating between few hotels at Nusa Dua, but reviews and prices for The Laguna looked the best, so we decided to try and never regretted! The hotel has the biggest amounts of pools among all other hotels - 9 and many of them are really big and long - more than 50/70 meters in lengths - amazing point especially if you like to do sport swimming. More than that, almost each pool and laguna have areas with natural sand, which is amazing for kids! We got the room with direct access to laguna. It had a small balcony with table and 2 chairs and 24 hours direct access to the pool from the balcony. The hotel is very relaxing with beautiful well taken care territory. Plenty of really good restaurants inside the hotel and around. The gym is small, but has all that’s needed for good workout. In the evening the hotel usually organized some local Balinese dances with drums or fires. Looked very unique and authentic. I would suggest this hotel for couples, families with kids and other people who want to have relaxing vacation and unwind.
From the moment you step into The Laguna every staff member's greeting is with a warm friendly smile and nothing is too much trouble. Although the room decor is a little dated the room and resort is kept impeccably clean. The seven swimming pools are imaginatively designed and welcoming with plenty of sunbeds and cabanas distributed across all areas of the resort. Breakfast was a total feast with a range of Western and Asian food and the staff coming round with trays of pastries, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee to save you returning to the buffet stations. We made a mistake of not reserving a table at Arwana and had to wait 30 mins for a table but it was worth it with moonlit beach views and amazing seafood. I recommend the Tuna Ceviche and Giant Seafood Sword for a tasty seafood treat, We were on vacation celebrating a friends birthday and a cake and "Happy Birthday" sung by the bar staff and musicians that were performing that night. In a large resort, it makes you feel special when the personal touch is provided and all the staff provided this but Aprin in the KulKul bar went over and above with special drinks and providing us the best seats and ensuring we were well looked after. Thank you Aprin for making our stay memorable. This is my third time to Nusa Dua and off the three resorts I have stayed in, this is the one I would choose to return to and I look forward to coming back to The Laguna.
The rooms are good. There are multiple pools and easy access to the beach. The staff is helpful. The food is good. The concierge helped with a lot of reservations and ensured we got the best tables at some extremely busy places.
I've been travelling for more than 15 years in Asia, from small 2 Stars local hotels to Luxury 5 Stars, but I have to say that this one is the worst ever I've been... I really do not understand all these fantastic reviews here... that cannot be possible?! All is terrible there: Rooms are not clean, furniture shabby, service a the level of a 3 Stars (and I'm kind saying this)... but the worst ever: The Food! Seriously.. where di they hire their Head of Restaurants and cooks? I think Gordon Ramsey could make 3 episodes of Nightmare in the Kitchen there... breakfast is a joke (they do not know how to make an simple omelette and serve you a 15mn cooked egg galette..), seafood is not fresh and very suspicious (careful, if you take a shrimp by the tail, the head stays on the plate..), taste-less, all is super overcooked (may be its better..).. and when you order what they call "Fresh Baby Lobster".. just be aware they will serve you simple shrimps that has been frozen multi-time (shrimp texture looks like mash potatoes inside..). Horrible. Well, there are plenty lovely Hotels and Restaurants in Bali, including in Nusa Dua... but this one is an expensive joke.
We had the most amazing stay at The Laguna. Rarely have we seen and experienced such great service and hospitality. Right upon checking-in we were offered an upgrade to a deluxe ocean view suite. We had booked our trip through a travel agent but are SPG members. Since we arrived at midnight we postponed the upgrade to the next morning, but couldn't have made a better choice! The suite is overlooking the entire resort, the beach and the sea. It felt like an eagle nest, with two floors and a terrace on each floor. The service including our butler was outstanding, fast, very friendly and always with a smile. The resort was very well booked but it never felt crowded, neither at the pool, the beach nor at any of the restaurants. We preferred to have breakfast at the Arwana, the restaurant right at the beach. It has almost the same choice of breakfast and is less crowded. Again, service was amazing, at breakfast and for dinner. I have a food allergy which in many restaurants around the world is not taken very seriously. At the Arawana they made sure they fully understood what I was allergic to and prepared a separate meal for me. When we came back the following day they were all aware of my allergy and showed me what I could eat and what not. I felt completely safe and could enjoy the food, which on top was just delicious. We loved the beach, it has natural shades from the trees. It was very clean, beach chairs were super comfy and again, the service just great. Everyone working at the hotel has a very natural way of making sure guests feel like the most important guest at the hotel. When entering the lobby we were greeted every time by the reception and concierge, often by name, asked about how our day trips were and if they could do anything for us. We will always remember our week at The Laguna and hope to be back again soon. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay unforgettable.
The Laguna is a hotel i have visited multiple times for work and leisure. My last visit was in January 18 with my family. The warmth and hospitality of this hotel is unparalleled and hasn't lost its sheen over the 8 years i have been visiting this hotel. From the arrival lobby to the friendly staff, a layout of the resort which is convenient regardless of where your room is, a lovely bar on the beach, lifts this hotel a few notches above various properties adjoining it. Service is crisp and the rooms well designed and comfortable. Quite honestly the resort needs to be experienced as it would be difficult to adequately describe this place in a short review. January is a pleasant month with brief spells of rain which dont interrupt any of your itinerary. I strongly recommend a stay here even though you may have your favourites at Nusa Dua. You will remember it for its overall comfort, ease and warmth.
