Our sixth visit here at the Elysian is fantastic. The villa is Beautiful and the pool a delight to swim in. Breakfast always superb and the restaurant meals are delicious Apart from above, it is the gracious staff that make our stay so enjoyable. Nothing is a problem and there is always a beautiful smile accompanying any service Thanks to each and every staff member for making our holiday so amazing
POSITIVES Service, food is very good, Bose stereo, Apple TV. NEGATIVE Too much tree cover and shade over the pool. (Only thing I could think of) A big thank you to the team at The Elysian. They clearly take pride and effort in making your stay a special one. This professionalism had an amazing effect making it feel like our home away in such a short time. See you next time!
This property is probably one of the best we have stayed so far. The local staff goes above and beyond its work requirements. The property itself had everything we needed during our stay. Definitely value for the money spent.
I recently stayed at The Elysian for a week with my mum. The staff make you feel welcome and valued at every interaction. Delicious breakfast. Villa was always clean. Plunge pool was divine. Highly recommend!!
Problem with Bali, in general, is you are spoilt for choice, so you need to be super special to stand out. I had driven past Elysian a few times on previous trips and the driveway was intriguing so when my sister said she would meet in Bali from Zimbabwe Africa (20+ hour trip for her) I wanted to take her somewhere special. The Good: Pre-arrival, emails from the staff were answered quickly and with perfect information, on arrival, the driver was great, the welcome was great nothing bad. They did let my sister check in early which was helpful after a long trip from Africa. Villa was nice, beds nice, pool nice. Good Location. The staff were okay, except they did have one person on reception who could not speak a word of English, she was supported and everytime a foreigner asked a question she would smile and look blank and then a colleague would run over, maybe she was there to help other language speaking people but it seemed weird. Bad: nothing really technically bad. Previous reviews I've written I've listed what I want, aircon, clean, lots of towels, drinks, etc etc and the Elysian did have that but it just didn't blow me away. I didn't feel like the money I spent was of value. I felt I paid a lot of money for something normal. Nothing too special. If you are considering, understand I wanted to blow my sister away, I thought Elysian would. It didn't blow me away so I guess that is why my review is average. I want to be fair. It's totally fine.
My third stay here, this time with my husband and new born baby (last time I was highly pregnant. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Relaxed, great service, lovely massages, great bicycles that you can use and loved again the villa & the staff. Location is also so convenient.
I had wanted to stay at The Elysian for many years and decided to stay to celebrate part of my 50th birthday trip to Bali. This Villa looks as though it ticks all of the boxes but once you are there it's lacking in many areas, there is NO ambiance nor atmosphere and has a weird "something is not right" feel about it. The price of the Spa is ridiculous as well as the cocktails. Some of staff are almost like bad actors, way over the top in all of their dealings with you. The Balinese are such a beautiful, gentle people, but the staff we almost false in the way the acted and spoke. The villa was underwhelming, too small and not practical in its design. No TV in the bedroom, the "lounge area" was not comfortable nor usable and the table had 2 chairs shoved in the corner of the kitchen. The outdoor area was not user friendly at all due to no space. The pool was full of leaves and cold due to many trees shady this area, and I was told many times that it is windy. This should be taken into consideration and the pool should be cleaned twice a day. Our room hadn't been serviced by 2pm and when I asked when it would be serviced I was advised that the cleaning hours are between 9 and 5!!!! We have stayed in over 30 Villas in Bali and have never experienced this before. We had booked for 5 nights and left after 1, giving them every opportunity to reimburse us at least part of our money as good will, but was told this what not possible. There are many better villas in the Seminyak area and I highly recommend thinking twice before considering this villa.
Beautiful Villas, if you are looking for a private sanctuary it is lovely. They do have transfers into the main area in Seminyak but it is easier if you hire a scooter to get around as it's a bit of a walk (about 1km) to get into the main areas. The hotel looks like it is located on the beach but has no access to beach. Rooms are really pretty and the pool area is great (bedroom does not have tv, lounge area does). Staff are almost to friendly but are very welcoming.
When we drove up to this villa complex, we weren't sure what was in store as the road running up to it is very narrow and you can't see much except for a small open reception area once you've turned in to the entrance but we were soon welcomed very warmly with a mocktail which helped after a long journey. There is a windy path surrounded by foliage which leads to each villa and covers you from direct sunlight. The villa was spacious, clean and modern with anything you would need including a large TV and Bose speaker. Complimentary water, fruit and biscuits were waiting for us and our own pool was clean and inviting. The villas are so private, you would never know the other villas are so close. The bed was really comfortable with lovely pillows and a there was a turndown service every evening. The food in the poolside restaurant is exceptional and plentiful. All the staff are so friendly and willing to please. The shuttle was available for trips into the local town of Seminyak which is within walking distance, although it can be a bit scary walking along the narrow roads with traffic and motorbikes rushing past. Reception arranged our tours and supplied the driver with a coolbox and cold water so we were kept refreshed. We had been warned not to drink the water but the ice is made from bottled water and the salad and fruit are also washed in bottled water, it was safe to eat too. As it was my birthday whilst we were there, the staff sang happy birthday at breakfast and presented me with a small cake which took me by surprise. There was nothing too small for the staff and the efficiency and care they took made our holiday an absolute pleasure. We would certainly return.
The villa at The Elysian was fantastic and spacious. We really loved having the private pool and amazing shower. All of the staff members were so friendly and helpful. This is my 5th trip to Bali and would suggest this was the best room so far even after staying at Alila and the W Hotel.
