The Amasya enjoys the best location along the busy Seminyak street with many cafes, restaurants, massage, shopping and money changers. As each direction only consists of one lane, traffic jam can be bad during peak hours. It is located opposite the famous Ultimo restaurant, 5min walk to my favourite The Bistrot vintage restaurant and 10min walk to Ku De Ta. There is free two-way airport transfer i love it! Remember to email them for it. The location, the environment, the villa pool, the housekeeping are the nice things that I look forward to. However, they need alot of facility maintenance as it is getting competitive with all the modern-styled villas. The list of things to improve are 1) Air con is not cold enough, 2) Wi-Fi is forever connected but no internet it is frustrating, sometimes it works better outside the room but in the villa 3) Huge mosquitoes despite given notice of their efforts 4) String of ants on the table and floor so do not place ur food on the table 5) No iron for me to borrow and ask me to go minimart buy? 6) Not soundproof as I can hear neighbours' laughter once they return to villa at night, 7) Fridge cannot be closed fully, cracked tray inside and lastly 8) my room has this scary painting which i do not appreciate my friends guess it is an owl but i have nightmares facing it though sorry I got to blame that. Also strangely, at around 930pm everyday, there is sound of fireworks so do not be alarmed. I have been to better villas in my previous visits to Bali but it is the first time for my husband. He actually loves The Amasya as the villa huts and layout allow him to feel exclusive and traditionally old school.
Booked 9 rooms across 3 Villas in May 2017. This is a rundown zero maintenance villa resort. Wooden furniture falling apart, filthy, covered with mold and dust. Open living and pantry areas had gekkos (wall lizards) and cockroaches in every villa. Giant mosquitos bred on unkempt foliage and moss infested walls. Bats flew across the villa. A/c’s work only on one setting – low. No water pressure, you got to drip shower and toilet at half hour intervals for the commode cistern to fill up. Do not go by the images on the website. Totally misleading. The only reason the property fills up is, because of its location. Reception spoke very little English to even complain. Every request was a “cannot do”. Never again at this “5 star villa”. Ruined our holiday.
It was good but the AC was very bad . It was hot & still the AC did not work for first night . The changed to other room which was the same . Apart from this it was good . They r helpful & have drop service is also good were ever u wanna go which was good . Location is also better .
Great stay at this villa last month. Located at the Semiyak street which very happening at night. Chef will come to our villa to cook breakfast every morning for us. Private pool just right in front of our room and also it have a nice bathtub too. Enjoy the stay during the Bali trip.
Stay for 3 day 2 night for Birthday celebration vacation. Complimentary whole cake from Hotel. Located at the most happening street at Seminyak. Boutique shop and pub just walking distance. Free 2 way airport transfer. Personal chef for breakfast. Definitely money worth.
I, for some unknown reason, didn't look at the reviews for this villa before booking. Which is unlike me, considering we have never done the villa thing before in Bali, we always stay in resorts. If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the villa for you. We stayed in villa 14, a 1 bedroom pool villa. I'll start with the good.. Location... right on eat st, you can walk anywhere. Perfect location. The pool is massive & deep (for its size). Water quite fresh, and it sees the sun for most of the day (unless it rains all day). Aircon in room worked well (too cold for me, but the husband likes it ice cold). Once you pull the mozzie nets around the bed (trust me you need to!), it gets quite warm in there. Towards the end of our 10 days, the air con started to leak & drip over our suitcases.. we switched it off. Wifi, after reading the reviews (after I got here!), I was slightly worried. But, it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews. Worked ok for us, few times it dropped out, but worked every day. The bad... I went to the toilet when we first arrived, after realising they hadn't stocked up on toilet paper, I looked into the bowl and saw something swimming.. and no it wasn't from me! It looked like an eel, or a tadpole, about 10cms long. I screamed and flushed again & it disappeared. To say I was petrified every time I walked into the bathroom is correct! My husband had a shower & the water wasn't draining very well. He took the drain thing out & pulled out chunks of hair. Vomit. Mozzies.. all day, all night, constantly. I bought coils with us & mozzie spray, plus more coils from the Mini mart. I had them burning 24/7 but doesn't seem to deter them. The complex needs to be fogged every day, or twice a day dawn & dusk. The bathroom is outside, leads off the bedroom, so if you get up in the night, you let mozzies into the room. I burnt 2 mozzie coils every night in the bathroom, near the doors into our room, hoping to stop them getting into our room or getting bitten when showering. The bed has a mozzie net around it, but they still get in. I had to spray mozzie spray before bed, not a nice smell to go to sleep with. Last night there we got eaten alive. I couldn't even sit out by the pool enjoying a drink and reading my book, without being bitten (this is with 3 coils burning and me sprayed in mozzie repellant). Overall appearance Very run down. The out door kitchen is old & tatty. The lounge to watch tv is also worn out. Fridge worked as expected, was handy filling it with our stuff, not relying on a mini bar. The power outlets didn't work on my husbands side, he had to use mine. Noise Well back from the road, so very quiet from the street noise. The noise inside the villa is another story! There seemed to be a large group of people staying in the villas around us. First night, it sounded like they were having a party in our pool! Noise carries very easily in the complex. They rapped up around 12am, so that was fine. 2nd night, another party that started at 12am and went until 3am. They were celebrating Chinese New Year and their voices were loud and a lot of screaming. Another night a baby cried for 3 ours while they partied in the pool. Not the villa's fault at all, just warning you it can be loud. The noise sounds like it's in your villa yard. I actually got up twice as it sounded like someone was in our fridge with bottles rattling. Villa 14 seems to be in the middle of it all, so don't expect a peaceful stay. I don't mind people partying, but there needs to be a noise curfew or they need to be respectful of others staying in the complex and quieten down. Be prepared to be interrupted about 6 times a day by staff. And if you don't answer the door bell (to the door that leads into your back yard), they will ring & ring your phone until you pick up. So much for having a nap or quiet afternoon in your pool. I understand they need to clean the room, clean the pool etc, but as there is no 'do not disturb' to put up, they will hound you until they can get in. In saying that, the staff are really nice. Bed Seemed comfortable, but if you moved, it creaked & sounded like it was going to snap. 10 nights on this bed was almost torture. The mozzie net around the bed is old, dirty & off white. Needs replacing. We booked for 10 nights, we stuck it out, me very reluctantly.. three stars for location.
I am a bit torn in relation to this place. Guess best thing I can do is to list pros and cons and let you readers decide for yourselves. Positives: excellent location, right on the main road in the middle of action yet tucked far enough to avoid all noise. Villas with private pools. There is main pool that no one ever uses, which is quiet and lovely. Bar right next to it never had any visitors ( well, you are spoiled for choice just outside the hotel, so I can see why). We did order room service and food was very good. You can call reception and order what you want for breakfast, at agreed time someone will come in with ingredients and cook it for you in a kitchen in your villa! That was a treat! Service was excellent! Staff was super attentive and very-very nice and polite! They were extremely helpful and could not do enough for you! Negative: out villa itself was in quite a bad shape. You could tell it was once very good- 10 years ago... it had everything one might want, nice large bedroom, huge bathroom, open kitchen/living area (only one wall at the back, front fully facing the pool. It did feel very old and unloved though! And it was not very clean either. Sofa and chairs were stained and smelled actually. You would not want to sit on them! Kitchen - well, that is crying out to be updated! It's such a shame about the state of it. It looked great on their website and you are not quite prepared to reality. So in a nutshell - everything about this place is very good, except actual villa being very old and in desperate need of modernisation. Beach is 10 minutes walk away as well. My average rating is due to state of the villa, it does have 4 stars after all and there is simply no excuse for letting it deteriorate to state it is at now. If it was not for that, otherwise I would have gone with Excellent. I truly hope management recognises desperate need of refurbishment and brings this place back to its formed glory!
The Amasya Villas are located right in the middle of a busy street with lots of great options to eat and drink located within walking distance. The villas are set back from the road so it is very quiet and peaceful without any noise from the road. The staff were always lovely during our stay, happy to help and never failed to greet us with a smile. Our airport transfers were organised smoothly without any hassle and were completely free included in our stay. The villa we stayed in was stunning and look better in real life than it looked in the photos online!! Some areas of the villa could use with a little bit of TLC however this did not impact upon our stay whatsoever. Overall the 1 Bedroom villa was excellent and my partner and I both enjoyed the lavish lifestyle and privacy of our room. I would 100% recommend The Amasya to anyone wanting to stay in a busy and popular part of Seminyak whilst also enjoying some rest and relaxation in their personal private villa :)
Very disappointed to the entire villas from its facilities and services provided. It was our 3rd time visiting Bali, and the Amasya Villas gave us the most horrible experience! The facilities in our rooms are old and dirty, and the room was smelly! The complimentary toiletries was not sufficient. Also, the pool water was too impure to get in. We've changed our room once during our stay but the second room was still bad! Obviously the villas didn't manage properly. The people here didn't serve properly neither! When we first arrived the villas and completed check-in processes, the receptionist was trying to sell extra services(i.e. transportation, motor rental, spa...etc) but offered prices were three-times higher than those we can find on the street! Our booking included breakfast, but the villas didn't arrange the breakfast according to our booking and didn't prepare it well. For example, we need to proactively book our breakfast everyday, otherwise the staff won't prepare it for us. We found several times food were misplaced out of plates, some pieces of fruits seems being eaten, gave us incomplete items( i.e. lack of side-dish and beverage that should be included in the menu set). The Wi-Fi connection in the room was bad and we need to walk out to the Bar area for better connection. Overall, it was really a horrible experience in Bali, we strongly NOT recommend this villas.
The location of this villa was great, it's centrally located and close to some amazing cafes and restaurants. The villa staff were really friendly too and were great at changing the sheets/towels in our villa. We didn't get picked up from the airport as planned, which was a bit frustrating. The wifi was virtually non-existent, the staff left a note in our villa apologising for the lack of wifi, however, it didn't seem to get fixed and reading other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue. We didn't get breakfast in our villa every morning as stated on the website and the villa needs a clean, it felt a bit dirty.
