We stayed in the honeymoon villa for 2 weeks. Was perfect for us! Staff were amazing and went above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt they were adding special touches throughout our stay. Villa was amazing, very traditional which was what we wanted. We found the villas very clean and staff were very quick to replace our TV when it got wet after a storm! The location is fantastic, great restaurants and shops just a stroll across the road. We would definitely recommend and look forward to returning soon!
First off, it’s been 7 years since I last went back to Bali and this time I decided to come back and check out what it’s like to stay in a private villa with pool. Upon arrival at the airport, there will be tons of people pestering you (borderline harassment) to get into their taxis. They use all sort of methods- from showing you their name tags, to telling you that they work for airport, to of course ‘cheap cheap’. This can be super annoying when you just arrived and trying to adapt with your surrounding and stretch a lil after the flight. My advise is, just quickly get onto WiFi and just order a grab or uber. Bear in mind that Bali is still not very civil about the apps so before you lose your WiFi, just let the Driver know that you will be waiting nearby the minimart outside. Check in was quick and easy, no deposit was needed which is great! Hotel’s location is easy to find and the surrounding is convenient as it is full of restaurants and of course, the repetition of the same clothes brands shops (ie, quicksilver, rip curl etc). There’s also plenty of local brand shops as well selling leather product etc. There’s a minimart outside the hotel (it’s called Minimart) and the items sold in the shop can be slightly more expensive that the other convenient stores like Circle K and Coco. (These 2 are along the street of the hotel too, just a lil further walk away from Minimart) Now, the hotel itself, is lovely. The room size is great and very private. (You can skinny dip kinda private). Pool is not that big but good enough to dip in and swim a lil. Let’s get to the buuuut.... Room: 1) Bedroom - 4 post bed with mosquito net. Huge bed but don’t expect it to come with fluffy and plushy typed pillows or comforter. (Which I think it’s a waste considering that they already have such a huge mattress) 2) Aircon unit was working perfectly fine provided you don’t leave any doors open to let the cold air escape. Though I wished they also come with at least a ceiling fan for days that you don’t want to use aircon. 3) Bathroom - huge in size. Comes with its own tub in the middle, shower room as well as a toilet room. However, the shower unit doesn’t work properly. (It is not rainshower head by the way). Water pressure is bad and the shower head seems to be clogged up. The water sprays unevenly everywhere and it’s hard to wash off properly. (Those with thick long hair to wash will get annoyed with this) I can’t say that the shower room has the cleanest tiles to step on either. Toilet bowl was definitely not clean either and we didn’t bother to use the tub. The glasses that are usually placed near the sink was nicely wrapped in plastic bag but when I opened the plastic, I was so surprised at how dirty it looks. (Can refer to the photo). All the faucets are moldy and the tap/shower water feels/tastes a lil strange. (It almost feels like the water source is the sea and they are not filtered enough as the water can taste a lil salty, even when you shower) 4) Living room - it’s located outdoor together with the kitchen. But, in the evening, there will be a lot of mosquitoes. The hotel should really change the ceiling fan (or add fan for that matter) outside so that there’s high speed fan to help with the mosquitoes and generally to have the place cozier to hang out at. (C’mon, it’s a tropical country, fans are kind of a necessity) To be honest, the living area can be a nice place to chill at and watch tv if only small matter like fans are taken into consideration. The couch however, I won’t advise you to just sit down and relax without lining it with a towel at least. (I use the pool towel to line it on the couch before I sit/lie down). 5) Kitchen - not in its best condition, that’s for sure. I didn’t really want to use the utensils provided because there’s no dish liquid around for me to give it another round of wash before I use it. The fridge is in working condition (pheeeewww...). Don’t bother to open the lower cabinets as that’s where the cleaners store the cleaning tools and it’s really dirty. Basically, don’t expect an amazing villa with nice fragrance (the room smells like old musky wood) waiting for your arrival. The units are nice in general, it’s just that it’s not showing it’s full potential and the lack of maintenance, which is sad. Therefore, regardless of how cheap or expensive you have to pay during your travel period, there’s no excuse for the hotel not to have basic cleanliness for the rooms. Also, it’s not soundproof so if your neighbors decided to blast music or talk really loud, you definitely can hear it. Apart from having a good location, the villas has nothing to shout about.
It is so sad to see a place with so much potentially this run down. It looked good from the photos and reviews but they were obviously outdated. The place was grubby and un kept. We barely saw another guest it was like ghost town and the staff seemed really sad to be there :( the owner of this place really needs to invest some TLC and $$$ to get this place back to life again as the villas are spacious and pretty but just so not clean and all the appliances were rusty, old and dusty. We were eaten to death with mosquitos and too afraid to eat in the hotel or swim in the pool as it was so grubby looking! I would also definitely NOT recommend staring here if u like to get a good nights sleep or appreciate cleanliness. We were kept awake most night from parties on near by. Positives - it was good location for walkin to seminyak square etc. Staff gave us free lift to the airport. Ideal for a young group who want to enjoy the night life and have a spot for pre drinks without caring too much about hygiene.
Stayed in The Amasya in November 2017 as a couple for 5 nights. Gotta be honest, The Amasya offers one of the lower rate in Seminyak for a Villa that has a private pool so you will be getting the kind of quality for what you paid for. The pool was good, i assume that the staff cleans the pool everyday because when i wake up i notice that the amount of water in the pool was lesser as compared to the previous night. And there was this tube that was pumping water into the pool every morning. They also clear the flowers and leaves that fall into the water. Room. Aircon was weak for the first 2 nights. We had to uncover the mosquito cover in our bed as it was too warm but the remaining nights were much better. Selection of channels in the TV was decent, there were HBO channels which me and wife binged one at night. But reception was bad, so dont expect HD quality. Toilet. Notice quite a fair bit of mold/algae/cob webs in the shower closet. The water pressure for the shower head, Jacuzzi and sink was terrible. It took us 30 mins to fill the jacuzzi with enough water. On a side note, there is hot water. Wi-fi. Unstable, as good as non-existence. Quietness. As its a villa and its Bali. There tend to be a lot of noise coming from insects and birds. But on Sat night, you can hear the music from a nearby club all the way until 1am. Breakfast. You get to choose several kinds of breakfast from the reception. The staff will prepare the breakfast in your villa at your requested time. We had french toast (the best in my opinion), fried noodle, big breakfast, honey pancake. They will serve the breakfast with fruits (papaya and watermelon), fruit juice (orange, pineapple, water melon, or papaya), and tea/coffee. Taxi. Whenever you want to take a blue bird taxi. Just head out to the guard area and inform the guard that you wish to take a blue bird taxi and he will flag it down for you. Location. Great location, stone throw away from most of the famous tourist spot. From our villa, we were able to walk to Ku De Ta, Potato Head Folk Beach Club, The Bistrot, Revolver Coffee, Sisterfields, Seminyak Square and many others! For the price that you pay, its a good villa.
I've read a lot of reviews on the Amasya Villas and want to provide a very factual overview: Location: fantastic and very quiet considering you are right on eat st. Room: stayed in Villa 15 at the back of the property. Aircon good, sheets good. Lounge television unwatchable due to reception, telephone could not be used due to intense line static. No turn down service. They do however empty a can of mortein in your room every night around 6pm - not pleasant. WIFI was reasonably reliable but not good enough to Facetime. Bathroom: large and clean. Tiny robe. Exceptionally hot bathroom that needs a fan. Toilet was lose from tiles and rocked sitting on it (my toosh isn't that big :). Had to ask for toiletries to be replaced. Nice big shower over tub. Didnt use the tub though. Pool: beautiful, large and plenty of natural sunlight. Very private. Had to ask the staff to clean it though as it went green on day 4 after a rain shower. Food: good breakfast cooked in your room at your chosen time. You have to know to ask because they dont tell you when you check in. Staff: For the reception staff their English is not the best but they did certainly try. Grounds staff very friendly. Often returned at night to see the night staff asleep on the lobby lounges. Services: free airport collection and return. No in-room dining but just use go-jek to get everything delivered. No in-villa massage services. No laundry services - just use Nikki-Laundry on Facebook. No Villa guide or guest book which means u have no idea how to call reception, how to manage breakfast, local numbers etc - very odd. Price: We got a crazy good special where we paid $900 for 9 nights. Normally around $1390. I would not have wanted to pay anymore for this venue. For the price I believe we got what we paid for. A nice pool, great location and a clean room. As with most things in Bali - don't look to close.
My partner and I loved staying at Amasya! We stayed in a one-bedroom villa with a private pool for 4 days at the end of August. The whole villa is a decent size and we loved that the bedroom was indoor and everything else was outdoor (bathroom is semi outdoor). We had a lot of privacy in the villa and it was actually very quiet, considering the complex is off a quite busy road. The staff were all so friendly and so willing to help. Breakfast was included and every morning at least 2 staff members would come into our villa and cook breakfast for us. They were always so polite and left us to our morning routine, then they would clean, let us know the food was ready and leave. The Amasya's location was perfect for us. So close to many amazing restaurants and cafés. There is also a mini mart right outside the complex, with a legitimate money exchange inside. Security out the front always made us feel safe. The villa has a shuttle service and they're more than happy to drop you off but they do not offer pick up, which I think is fair. All our trips were free but that's dependent on how far you're travelling. I would highly recommend staying with The Amasya. The level of customer service is outstanding. We had such a great experience. We will definitely be staying with them again.
My sister and I visited this resort for 10 days and it was amazing! We like to have a little peace and quiet and feel like the world is being shut behind us and this is exactly what happened! We are from Sydney and like nice restaurants and bars to roam and this was right on the doorstep of some of Seminyaks best restaurants. When you walk off the busy street you walk past the friendly security staff (they make you feel very safe and welcome) and along through the resort and you really feel very secluded and away from the street. The staff are absolutely amazing and attentive and genuine. They are always friendly and happy! They offer a full service villa clean daily where they change bedding, clean the villa and refresh all towels. The Gardeners also offer to come and clean the pool daily but we didn't need it. We stayed in a 1 bed villa and the pool had amazing sunshine all day. The villa is spotless and clean, I have read reviews saying the resort is tired, I disagree. The resort is a typical Balinese style with lots of character and very very clean. The decor was lovely and the private pool and sundeck area offered us a private retreat daily. The message in our rooms was amazing and very well priced and I would recommend. The resort arranges free shuttles to and from the airport which is great service.
The location is perfect. Very close to the shoppingstreet, the bars, restaurants and the beach. The villas are very nice and clean. But the most lovely was the staff there. Very friendly and sweet. We even get a big cake for our anniversary:-)) thank you so much guys!!
I'll start with the only good thing was the staff always happy and obliging.the first day we never received any water, when we ordered breakfast you never got what you asked for fully operational kitchen not, no teabags or coffee or milk, had to ask for the water dispenser to be replaced if you didn't ask it wouldn't be done. The outdoor furniture was very old and uncomfortable and stained the TV didn't work had to ask for someone to fix all of this should have been done before we arrived . They don't sweep under the bed my husband found a used bandaid under the bed yuk! The shower had no water pressure and the toilet didn't flush properly. After a few days they stopped lighting the coils and fogging the bedroom again we had to remind them. The boards around the main pool were very dangerous, loose & unstable. The breakfast menu was very limited no cereal etc. the villa pool never had any rails to get in and out of very hard for older adults also the same in the main pool. The glass on the coffee table very dangerous knocked myself several times lucky didn't break skin. AND THE FINAL THING HAVING BREAKFAST AND A RAT APPEARED ON THE KITCHEN BENCH 😖😖😖😟I would not recommend anyone to stay here until they did a lot of renovations
OMG we had to change our hotels from an absolutely awful run down piece of rubbish to this gorgeous villa. Nothing was ever too much trouble, the staff were so very helpful and friendly. The villa was very clean as was the private pool. The breakfast cooked every morning in your room was lovely and fresh, with the chef being friendly and willing to help or cater to your every whim. Zidni at the restaurant & bar was so lovely and made the best ever cocktails and satay and was up for a chat any time. The girls at reception were so sweet and willing to help with places to shop, eat and order you breakfast ... free shuttle to any where in Seminyak or Kuta once a day with chatty drivers willing to share the secrets of the best shopping sites. This Boutique Villas is central to the buzz and eateries in Seminyak. Whilst the villas could use some small cosmetic upgrades such as replacing the decking and shower head everything else was fantastic ... We will most certainly without any doubts be staying here with these lovely people again as they made us feel like family .. cannot wait for our next holiday :) We have no doubts that anyone staying here will absolutely love it ..
