I came to Bali with my husband, daughter (16yrs) and two other couples, we upgraded our room to to a larger one which was perfect for us, room was beautiful and the check-in was easy & lovely, great staff on reception. This hotel is lovely if you are wanting total peace & quiet, we would prefer things to be a little bit more entertaining, just felt a little flat around the pool area & of an evening. Food & staff are EXCELLENT and really lovely people who really want to help you and ensure everything is ok. Overall and lovely hotel & holiday just to quiet for ourselves.
stayed at the sol beach house in june 2016, requested ground floor room, the hotel provided a fantastic room, near to everything, which was so helpful, as my walking distance is limited. we are returning in june ths year, i hope nothing has changed. i cannot find fault with this hotel, we opted for gold package, larger room was most welcome, 24 hr room service is provided if you wish to use it, fridge is topped up daily, with chocolate, crisps, water, soft drinks and beer. laundry service is provided, so no going home with a suitcase of dirty washing. food was exceptional, plus, when dining it is refreshing to find no evidence of a works canteen in progress. great selection of food, which would cater for most tastes, also a 24hr restaurant if you don't want to eat at set times. the pool is fantastic, with numerous beds scattered around, nice and peaceful, like wise the beach, with a cooling breeze. i could go on forever singing the praises of this hotel, congratulations to the staff of this wonderful hotel, see you in june, not forgetting the wonderful meal on the beach...keep up the good work.
Hi We have just returned from a fantastic relaxing Christmas break in the Sol Beach House Benoa. We stayed from 23/12/17 to 30/12/17. We can’t speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. Everyone was so lovely and seemed genuinely happy to help. The food was fabulous, we had absolutely no complaints. We booked the gold level all inclusive and I would definitely do this again, it was worth every cent. Our room was cleaned every day and we could even get laundry items cleaned each day. Room service was great, there was no difference from the restaurant standard food. It was really quick and was included in gold inclusive package. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy, there was some renovation works in the lower apartments but this did not cause any issues at all. It was very quiet during our visit due to the recent volcano action, which had a huge impact on Bali tourism. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing friendly short break. The swim up pool bar was great and nothing was a problem for the staff. Again we will definitely be revisiting the hotel. Thanks to all the wonderful friendly staff for our amazing break, our first together on our own for 17 years. Fantastic, keep up the great work. Cheers Deb and Steve
My husband and I stayed at this resort for 2 weeks in May 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and always available if need be. The standard rooms are spacious as well as the bathrooms. The only issue with the bathroom was that it would constantly have a bad smell so had to keep spraying freshener; it also flooded a few times but staff were quick on hand to sort out the problem. The resort spa is convenient if all you want to do is stay in the resort; however, there is a shop literally across the road where they do massages, etc for half the price (which is very cheap) There are different all-inclusive options: blue, silver or gold bands. Not sure on the exact differences and prices but I know the gold band includes room service. There is a games room with a pool table, darts, etc which is good for evening entertainment; otherwise there is always entertainment provided by the resort staff every evening.
We were the gold package and it was certainly worth it. Lovely room, but the shower flooded. Free laundry, comfy bed, good mini fridge! Lovely staff! I did enjoy my stay but found the area very dull. The entertainment at the hotel was embarrassing. We had a complimentary massage and it was amazing! The complimentary romantic meal was lovely. The beach is great as is the pool. As I say, lovely hotel but just a bit boring.
We spent Christmas 2017 here and had an amazing wedding on the beach. The organisation of the wedding by Yomi Octania w as incredible, her excitement and attention to us made not only the wedding day, but the whole week, made us both feel very loved and special. The attention and can do approach from all the staff at the hotel was extremely pleasing, they really could not do enough for us, and all shared in our celebration. The food and facilities were excellent, with a wide selection of food and a lovely junior suite. We did not want to leave and intend very much on returning to this very friendly and welcoming hotel. MOSTLY a truly beautiful resort and could become worthy of 5 stars with a little bit of effort from Management. A difficult time for resorts in Bali because of many cancellations due to the volcano and this resulted in a cut-back of services at the Sol Beach House. Under the circumstances I don't want to be too harsh but do feel they could still do better even when things are back to normal. Expected to find 3 restaurants and beach side crepe kiosk but everything except the main restaurant was closed - originally told due to being "low season" (week leading up to Christmas???) and later told due to room cancellations. Would not have been too happy if we had been on one of their "full board" packages that included all meals as would have been disappointed eating in same restaurant all day, every day. Putting this aside I will review the rest of our experience at the Sol Beach House BE AWARE if you book for Bed & Breakfast only you will most likely be given a room in Building 1 - these rooms are very close to and overlook a laneway full of dingy market stalls with motor bikes travelling up and down and the view looks terrible. Luckily I had read this on Tripadvisor so liaised direct with the resort and being a Melia Rewards member they gave us a room in Building 3 overlooking the magnificent gardens for the same price so DO book direct with them and ask to have a garden view room (buildings 2 & 3). PROS: Extremely pleasant staff who were obviously trying their best under difficult circumstances. Excellent breakfast with many options and good service - fresh cooked eggs, crepes and pancakes Liked that it was a smaller and quieter resort Beautiful garden setting with ponds, fountains and water lillies and great beach location Room and bathroom were huge with comfortable chairs on balcony - always a bonus Lovely garden outlook from 2nd level to watch squirrels up and down trees and rooftops and birds feeding from bread-basket provided by staff Building 3 had several " void areas" with comfortable chairs and couches and tables for even more lounging around options outside your room - wonderful on a wet day Fabulous pool area with plenty of pool chairs of differing types, in shade or sun and pool bar Plenty of chairs at beach - we never had any difficulty getting one - some can be reserved up until 12.30 pm for those on the " full packages" but I cannot imagine this would create a shortage for others staying there CONS: Lack of information when booking as to different room types and what packages they belong to - example several ground floor rooms had direct pool access but didn't seem to be any way of knowing this when booking SUGGESTIONS to bring up to 5 star standard: Should be availability to book poolside/ beach SNACKS from poolside bar even when fully operational. Very poor as even the smaller resorts/hotels usually provide this benefit. (Some arrangements should have been made particularly because the beach crepe kiosk and beach restaurant were closed due to staff being laid off.) Some clever people went back to their rooms and ordered " room service" to be delivered to the pool instead of the room. Guests should have been advised of this option! Better communication and information booklet should be provided for guests....being regulars to Bali we are aware of the Bali Collection but had to find out from Google that the Collection provided complimentary scheduled shuttles to and from the resort. When we later asked at the Sol Reception they even had a printed timetable. At poolside spoke to a couple who had been staying at Sol for 3 years and did not know the Collection existed. Sign on Tour Desk to advise it closes at 3 pm (not sure if this is normal closing or due to circumstances) WOULD I STAY AGAIN - ABSOLUTELY depending on room location as cannot blame resort for current volcano situation TIPS FOR EATING OUT if not on full packages - several restaurants further up at Tanjung Benoa will pick you up and return you to hotel - just ask them. We received this service from The Tree House Hotel and Mr Bob's BBQ - or catch shuttle to Collection for numerous restaurants. Italian restaurant even drove us back after meal so didn't have to wait for return shuttle Apologies for extra long revue - something else I can blame on the volcano ............
I’ve just returned from another wonderful holiday in Bali. This is the 4th time I’ve been in 2 years and although the media reported that it was dangerous due to the recent Vulcanian activity, it was Safe!! My holiday company who I’d originally booked with cancelled less than 24 hours from when I was due to depart and offered me alternative holidays, but I couldn’t imagine anywhere else I wanted to be other than my beautiful paradise island of Bali. So I did it independently and contacted the hotel direct who were so helpful and were only to happy to confirm a room and booked the flights. Another wonderful stay at Sol Beach House, the suite was great and could see the sea from my balcony. Very clean and comfortable. Great to see all the staff who all welcomed me back and couldn’t do enough to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Food was excellent. Took a wonderful tour with Wayan from Dogs Bollocks Tours (who you will find details of on the beach by the water sports hut, between Sol Beach House & Bali tropic) to the Vulcano and had an excellent lunch overlooking the rice terraces and Vulcano at Mahagiri Restaurant and meet the owner Made who was very hospitable and friendly and showed me his photos of the Vulcano. Had another wonderful holiday and can’t wait to get back to my beautiful paradise island.
Just spent 8 days at Sol Beach House Benoa booked online with Agoda always offering extra discounts via promo codes so excellent price , we did All inclusive silver package Gold not worth the extra money , Blue doesn't offer enough , 24 hour restaurant , good menu choice , buffet breakfast very good variety , dine inside or out staff could not be faulted only to happy to serve , also they have a coffee shop and bar , nice room with balcony coffee tea making , Big swimming pool with bar , right on the beach , we had clothes laundered every day as part of silver package all meals drinks entertainment all covered , arranged transport from airport and to the airport though the hotel , they do have a tour desk but probably better off to see the fella across the road who offers taxi service hire him for the day negotiate a fair price which seems to be around 500,000 rupee a day , don't advise blue bird taxi or any taxi that's blue a ripoff my experience , Bali collection for shopping is worth a look don't expect a bargain you won't get one they offer a shuttle service from the hotel for free , I do recommend going to a place called Hardys at NusaDua not far from the hotel if you want to buy clothes , souvenirs etc at local prices you will need a taxi the roads not exactly safe no footpaths again see the fella across the road for taxi he will take you and most likely wait and take you back about 100,000 rupee confirm the price before as they don't have metres , very quiet hotel and location .
The accommodation was good, as a family (all adults), we occupied a number of rooms and they were all spacious, clean and comfortable, the family suites are particularly spacious offering lounge and dining areas. The beds were comfortable, the linen was good quality and the housekeeping staff were efficient. Food was good, there were only two restaurants open during our stay (only one on Mondays) but there was plenty of options on the menu for a two-week stay and we didn't have a poor meal at all. Service was sometimes a little slow, especially with basics like filling water glasses, but some of this could have been due to a large conference using the restaurants whilst we were there (often wandering in and out of the restaurants and changing the size of their tables at will) causing a huge strain on the waiting staff. We also used room service which was served hot and extremely quickly. The facilities were good for the size of the hotel. The pool was big enough and deep enough to swim in, the beach was fine (not very big but adequate) there were daily demonstrations and various activities you could join in with, there were also some water boards that you could borrow and bicycles too. The staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, they smiled continuously, they are easily the hotel’s best asset. Special mention to the lovely lady who appeared to run the ‘front of house’ from reception and also to the pool barman, both of whom seemed to know everyone by name. We had the ‘gold’ package and availed ourselves of the laundry service and the extra dishes on the menus that were part of our package. We didn't feel the need to reserve sunbeds (although the package included this service) because the hotel was not overfull and it seemed a little unnecessary, however, it’s a great option for when the hotel is busy. We use the hotel spa but also the spa over the road called Misels, this was much more reasonably priced with almost all services costing around £6 an hour. The road is very busy but the staff at the entrance happily stop the traffic to allow you to cross safely. There was a market right next to the hotel, it was very quiet (volcano was being a little grumpy which was affection tourism) which made the staff holders a little aggressive unless they are always like that. Instead of increasing sales it had the opposite effect on us, they didn't want us to browse and were constantly offering alternatives, we did want to purchase but left with practically nothing as we felt hassled. We had a day out with Wayan, who appears to work from the hut on the beach where you book the water sports. He was highly cheaper than the tour reps prices and allowed us to dictate the pace of the day and the things we wanted to see, we would recommend chatting with him about what you want to see. We would recommend the hotel, it’s a lot smaller than the hotels we normally stay in but we quite enjoyed the intimacy it offered to the holiday.
