We stayed in this hotel our first 2 weeks in Bali and we have to say really Thank you. The room itself was always clean and friendly freshed up. The breakfast was good and with a warm service. As well the pool was not the worst one ;) Overall, the only thing was that the beachclub was another provider and it was a little fight to get the 10% off. But from our side, it was a great and nice holiday.
My friend and i stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and honesrlt everything was just amazing. The breakfast is perfecr a variety of everything. Amazing and very helpful staff throughout the stay. The location of the hotel is just perfect. It's literally 10 minutes walk to potatoes head beach club and 10minutws to La Favella club. The location is literally in the middle of everything and easy to walk to also. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!! Thank you so much again Sense for everything!!!
Having stayed at some '4 star' hotels in Bali before, I had low expectations going into this stay. We decided to stay here based on the good location, which is walking distance to many good restaurants, the beach, Seminyak Square etc and the fact that it was cheap for our short 4 night stay. The hotel is noisy, very noisy. We didn't have any issues with noise from Motel Mexicola, as mentioned in previous reviews, but you can hear your neighbours very easily and if there is someone being loud on their balcony (or perhaps in the pool - couldn't tell which) late at night, it will be like they are doing it right outside your room. Even with ear plugs in I could still hear them. Speaking of the pool, it is small and was very dirty during our stay, could have easily mistaken it for an algae filled pond. Did not see anyone in there during our two nights there (we didn't last 4 nights, we ended up checking out and going somewhere a lot nicer, albeit a lot more expensive). The room itself was sufficient for two people on a budget having a short stay, however the room smelt mouldy/musty, pillows were lumpy, no top/flat sheet was provided - just a quilt and on the first night the hot water wasn't working so we ended up with a cold shower each. Would not return, would recommend spending a bit more money and staying elsewhere.
Dont be fooled by the rating. It is a boutique hotel fantastically located in the heart of Seminyak. Take note of the following: 1) The pool is small, a lap pool at most. Fits 12 deck chairs. 2) AVOID the suites. We had a ground floor unit on day 1 where one sink did not work and the water from the tub cannly be drained out. 3) The higher level suites suffer the noise from Motel Mexicola one door down til late. 4) DO NOT misplace yr keycard as they will threaten a charge. I was informed that for the WHOLE hotel, every room only has 2 cards and no more, until i kicked up a fuss. 5) Breakfast is nothing to write home about. Eggs were made so very slowly it was painful to order one. Flies were also seen on fruit and bread left out in the open. 6) Airconditioning was difficult to adjust, it was either cold or ultra cold. That being said, the location is a stone's throw frm Seminyak Square, KuDeTa, Motel Mexicola, to name a few. Try out the menu of the hotel cafe. It is surprisingly better than the breakfast buffet. We had an alright stay, opt for a room facing the pool as those facing towards the direction of the beach suffer loud noise. The hotel is nothing much to rave about, just average.
Don’t stay here! The staff at reception are not helpful, and can barely speak English. Our first night stay was disgusting and we changed rooms the next day, due to a sewage smell in the room that was very strong. Our view from the balcony was electrical wires and a huge transformer. The restaurant is like a cafe, barely enough room, and the breakfast was disgusting eggs tasted like vinegar. The reception ran out of money to exchange numerous times, the cafe ran out of wine at 9pm. Reception organised taxi for us, however we waited o er an hour for it to arrive. The photos on line look nothing like reality. We are seasoned travellers and can only sum this place up as Disgusting!
Arrived at the hotel at 12pm to drop off our baggage so we could go and explore while we waited for check in, on arrival the front desk lady who was unusually rude (The balinese hotel staff are usually so sweet and kind) said we did not have a booking- we had booked through agoda and accidentally booked 'Sense Sunset, Seminyak' (same management) The staff were so unhelpful during this whole process yet the staff at Sunset were so understanding and assisted us greatly in cancelling our stay and changing it to Sense. Sense charged us $1.50 per minute while using their phone to cancel stay so they could have our business instead. Upon us rectifying our mistake we then had successfully booked our stay here, with little to no help or effort it felt as though we were a hassle. understandably there was no room ready for us- so instead of waiting there we decided to go for a wander- upon arriving back at 3.30pm our bags were STILL at reception and our room was STILL not ready. I asked the same lady what was going on and she said our room still wasn't ready...we then waited again for her to phone up to house keeping and yes our room was ready? we got taken up to our room without being shown any facilities (where breakfast would be held etc). Once in the room I had to phone down to reception twice as they still hadn't made the effort to bring our bags up. Now, getting into bed after a long day we have realised our bed is 2 twins made to look like a king?? (We specifically requested king to the same lady and when booking on the website) I feel this is so wrong and very rude for them not even to mention it to us. It is so uncomfortable and I am not happy at all. Also another downfall is there isn't even a DVD player, that is very budget. This hotel isn't that cheap we are paying 71 a night but it's more like it should be $40 per night. Will NOT be recommending.
My elderly mother recently spent two weeks staying at Sense Hotel Seminyak. She is a hard woman to please but she thoroughly enjoyed her end to end stay from check in to check out. We found a very competitive room rate. She enjoyed the food and particularly liked the attitude and friendliness of all the staff (especially those working at breakfast in the restaurant). Well done to Sense Hotel management for good staff training policies. Hotel is central, clean, comfortable and relatively cheap for a Seminyak hotel. Take advantage of the early booking rates and enjoy the experience yourself.
I have booked a room for two nights and I will definetly stay at the Sense Hotel Seminyak if I happen to spend my vacation in Bali. I had a quick and a smooth check out and it was very nice of the front desk agent to grant me a room with a balcony that is facing the swimming pool. I was pleased to rest in my room as the bed was so soft and comfortable. Moreover, the internet connection was very good. However, I felt like the front desk agent was a bit too pushy during my last day. She called me at around 10:50 a.m where it was still a few hours from the normal check-out time. Of course, I knew I must. leave my room at 12:00P.M so it was unecessary of her to make me feel like I had to leave my the hotel soon. The swimming pool is quite shallow and small but it is clean.
Location - we picked this hotel for its location, amongst other things. It is a block or two fro Seminyak beach, and an easy walk to Seminyak Square, Ku De Ta and Potato Head as main attractions. It is easy to get to and central to everything we wanted. Budget - we wanted somewhere quite cheap for our time in Seminyak as we would be out and about quite a bit and were finishing our holiday in a luxury resort in Jimbaran. We stayed at Sense for 3 nights and booked the Honeymoon Suite with a lounge area and bath. We paid $288.60 inc taxes, which was great value Cleanliness- the hotel is presented well and appears quite clean. When we walked into our room we were hit with a really strong musty smell. We either got used to it or it dissipated as after 5 mins or so, with aircon on, we didn’t notice it. When we actually looked at things we noticed that they weren’t cleaned very well. The bath had a lot of scum around the plug and filter, so we didn’t use it. The basins were still a bit grimes but worst of all was the visible mound and soap scum on the group and tiles in the shower. If this were cleaned properly we would have been thrilled with the room. It’s not hard to clean these things, and it’s easier to maintain a clean room than to scrub it clean when there is mound present. We also found marks on our linen after the first night. Could have been mould, not sure. Pics attached. Dining - we had breakfast in the restaurant on our first day and didn’t return, even though we paid to have breakfast included. The fried rice was nice, but nothing really looked appealing and I was hesitant to try much else. I didn’t finish my juice as it appeared to be reconstituted powdered juice and I didn’t trust that tap water wasn’t used. We went to Kim Soo around the corner for the following two breakfasts and they were delicious. Other - the staff were extremely friendly, no faults there. I couldn’t stand the air freshener they used in the lifts, it’s too strong. We ordered room service on our first night, the food was very average and got one of the meals completely wrong, thankfully our daughter had fallen asleep. The pool is really grimy Leh and needs the tiles cleaned. The wifi is horrendous and drops out and doesn’t work well. When it does work it’s slower than dial up speeds. Overall, a great location and price for the room, but be prepared to pull them up on cleanliness if you need to. Eat elsewhere and buy a local sim with data.
Centrally located and within walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants at seminyak square. Anggara, ayu and the rest of Friendly staff made my stay very welcoming. The hotel also has a spa for a great massage. Other spa's as well the scooter rental and places to arrange activities are all close by.
