Sativa is simple and a little run down, but at the same time has a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are very friendly and any problems (like help working the tv) they come straight away. The pool is lovely and we all enjoyed it very much. The rooms are extremely clean. The breakfast is very basic but nevertheless I enjoyed my simple omelette, toast and pineapple juice each morning. We felt extremely satisfied for the price we paid.

Staying here you get the level of comfort expected in Bali for the price. The room was fine and our balcony had a view of the pool which is nice to look at. The room could really benefit from an additional electrical outlet or two. For an extra 50% surcharge we pushed our check-out time to 6pm which let us wait to go to the airport in the air-conditioned comfort of our room. Also for an extra 50% we were able to do an express load of laundry, returned the same day.  We were disappointed to find that as of February 2018 the pool shuts down at 6pm, and the pool bar closes at 5pm. Since we were out sightseeing during the day we didn't get to enjoy the pool area at all.  If you go out of the hotel to the street and take a right, then a right at the first street you can walk down to the beach. The beach is muddy, crowded, and the water is busy with a ridiculous number of boats. There's a market next door and a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Location and most of the property/exteriour design could make this a lovely place.BUT in comparison to many other hotels far cheaper around Bali, including Sanur, it seems that this one is is run without heart and soul. The guests are mainly large groups on charter holliday. If this is why the care and balinese tradition is completly absent I dont know. But absent it is. The trees and flowers are not properly cared for, they get chopped at random- and you are woken up at the sound of machines mowing and cutting, it both looks and feels like a botanic massacre. The Rooms are ok but not well kept. Peeling paint, Stained pillows, curtains ect. The restaurent is entirely without character. And so is the food. Breakfast can only be eaten in the restaurant, which doesnt add to the positive experience. . There seem to be a policy of not caring from the management, such as not replying emails, bad communication regarding all from missing towels, phonemessages and general Information . This hotel might as well be a two star hotel in spain. Not Bali. Dont bathe in the pool if you have dyed or blond hair. They put far to much clorine in the pool, and my hair became green from the pool. I adressed this to the management who said this was my own problem. Having returned to Denmark I've had to cut my hair and go through 4 expencive treatments to fix and repair. If you enjoy good ambience and aesthetics, kind service, a tranquil and hamonious atmosphere- DONT book at Sativa Cottages. If you love celine dion, disco and bad jazz played from the restaurent, dont care about the way things are done and maybe changing your hair from blond to green- this is the place for you.

We enjoyed every second and every part. The setting, the rooms, the architecture, the breakfasts, the restaurant, the staff, the lobby, the drivers, the whole atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were always polite, patient and friendly. The drivers were informative and easy to get along with. Bicycles were cheap to rent and easy to get around on. The food in the restaurant was varied and the local dishes were very inexpensive.

Cosy and family friendly hotel situated right in the middle of Sanur. Close to the beach and right next to a supermarket and all the other necessities that you might need during your stay. The personnel were very nice and friendly and English was not a problem. The food was good for a midday snack but I would not recomend it for dinner as there are plenty of restaurant nearby. The only negative experience we had was the money exchange right next to the hotel, where we were tricked by a man with quite the slight of hand. So for any future visitors that stay here or i Sanur in general, do not trust any of the exchange places and especially the one next to Sativa.

Interesting hotel, large pool and good towels , plenty of sun lounges. It was different from most places I've stayed at in Sanur. Large rooms , very comfortable bed, good shower over bath.we were upstairs overlooking the pool and lobby. Great ace to sit and read. Staff were so helpful especially when I got a dose of the BaliBelly. Doctor there within 20 minutes and fixed me up by next day. Can fault the hotel cause breakfast was great, rooms clean, great location, pool great. All it needs is a paint.

Our stay at Sativa Sanur Cottages was very nice. Pro's: - excellent wifi ++ (able to stream Netflix without problem) - service (staff is really helpfull and kind) - room airco ++ (we had to turn it a bit up because the room was too cold! ) Cons - Breakfast options are limited but tasty

We stayed in the Sativa for a week and give them a thumbs up. Very centrally located, nice pool and breakfast was good. Rooms where quite large in the double room. Bathroom had a large bathtub and are a bit dated but the whole experience was well worth it, would stay there again.

The room was not modern but clean and appropriate enough for our 3 nights stay. The garden was very nice, the pool was clean and enjoyable. The staff was very kind. The breakfast was included in the room price - fried rice and noodles were available every morning beside the elements of the continental breakfast.

This hotel is "tucked away"from the hassels of the city, yet few minutes walk to the beach. While the place is getting old ,yet it retain it charm thanks to the friendly staff and the efficient management of Rudi .I had a minor complaint about one of the staff in the restaurent and was very impressed with the way management dealt with it promptly and gracefully. The breakfast need further attention compared to what other hotels offer, but the position of the restaurent next to the pool is superb and the service is excellent.
