Great location, wonderful staff, clean excellent pool and the breakfast was everything you needed. The hotel is of traditional style and is clean and tidy with great staff who cannot do enough for you , it is in need of a little TLC and upgrading but it is value for money and we found it meet our needs . The wifi works fine but is a little slow if you are inside your room,it is in a quite location but is in within easy walk of the beach , shops and restaurants .The breakfasts are good plenty tea and coffee. fruit hot food like bacon sausages and fried noodles and veg ,there is also a chef to cook your eggs any way you want and a girl to make your toast . We found the hotel suited us and we would book again.

stayed 8 nights in this lovely place. Large rooms . clean. Pool is very clean and garden around it is lovely. Staff is plenty and very serviceminded. Aircondition was a little poor but it was enough. Fodd is well prepared and cheap. happy hours every day. wifi outside room.

Arrived on 25th December stayed till 2nd January - loved it. Nice, small and relaxed. More authentic style hotel rather then the glitzy types. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, as listed in prior reviews only lacking side is no beverage service around pool area but the restaurant is right beside the pool and not hard to call out to someone near. Room is spacious for 3, good roll away bed with big mattress unlike some places. Clean and tidy. Would recommend and defiantly stay again.

A nice quiet hotel in Sanur, just down a little lane from the main road going thru Sanur. Nice big and comfortable bed, a large oval bath with shower over top. The shower head was able to be taken off the wall so made for easier showering for shorter people. The roll away for teenager was a big thick mattress and comfortable sized bed. Air conditioner worked really well. We had an upstairs room over looking the pool. Table and chairs and towel rack on balcony. Good size flat screen TV. Mini fridge but no beer or soft drinks. Breakfast was good, but for a change of choice we did eat at Stiff Chill on the beach one morning. We had 2 lunches around the pool but no one seemed to eat dinner at hotel. I guess because there are so many choices in Town. Pool was good size but be warned if you have blonde or coloured hair it will go green unless you wash each day with a shampoo designed to remove. They do have signs around the pool advising and yes daughters hair did change. The hotel staff are friendly but don't approach you while around the pool for drinks or food. I needed a crowd on my tooth done and the hotel provided at a reasonable cost a driver to take me and wait an hour. He was a lovely man and we had a great conversation about all sorts of topics. The tariff of this hotel is good value to where you are in Sanur. The beach is a paddock behind you, but you can not access this way, it's a short walk down the road to some lovely cafes on the beach front. Right next door is a mini supermarket which was cheaper than Hardys. They had a deli and mini bakery so we purchased food for lunch to eat around the pool. Plus cold Bintang and wine (not cold) I would recommend.

We are family of 3 persons. We stayed in Sativa sanur cottages. Lovely stay. Relaxing athmosphere and quiet area. We had room in second floor view to pool and it was beautiful view. It is a bit walk to beach. Breakfast is good and restaurant too. Rooms big eaven for 3 people

Very good value for money! The breakfast had everything you could need (freshly made omelettes, fruit etc). The grounds were beautiful and the location was ideal. The staff were positively lovely as well. Thanks for having us!

We stayed here for a week. The front desk girls were really nice and helpful thru our whole stay. We were in room 210, which is upstairs facing the garden and empty field. We loved it because it was so quiet, and the flowering trees smelled so lovely when we sat out on the balcony. There were squirrels running around keeping us entertained as well. The pool side is not loud since the guests staying there are not the rowdy type, but the back is just more private. The room is pretty big. My partner did his yoga in there, so lots of room. The balcony is also pretty big with table and a couple of chairs. The bathroom has a huge tub, but the drain is misplaced so the water did not drain out properly, which was a bit of a pain, but I guess it is not something that can be fixed easily. Also the bathroom door has slats, which is a total no-no, but it wasn't too bothersome. They cleaned the room daily, mostly sweep and mop, make bed, and change towels. But it was kept clean. The pool was really nice. It has a swim up bar, but I never saw anyone there. They have a few floating things to play in the pool, and the kiddie pool has dragons spouting water into it. Great for kids of all ages. The whole interior of the place is very tropical and green.....just like what you want in Bali. I would only give 3.5 stars if possible because of the breakfast and Wi-Fi. The wifi was not ever working in our room, so I sat in the lobby, which is a nice place to sit. The restaurant had wifi but not always reliable. Secondly, the breakfast was ok, but very scantily maintained buffet. They will only put out small amounts even when the restaurant is full, so you only get a little here and there. The sausages were cold, like they were thawed and put out. There might be three pieces of French toast or pancake because they never fill it up. It was mostly bread/cereal food, and always the same every day. Some variety would be nice. So variety, fill buffet, and keep food warm are the main recommendations for them. Overall, the place is quiet, yet near beach and all restaurants and shopping. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back. Travel tips: Warungs usually don't charge service fee, but they also seem to have smaller portions, but good prices and good food. Trip Advisor has many good suggestions in the area, so read reviews and research before going. Vegetarians should look at the whole menu and ask for an item to be made without meat and veggies instead, many will make the adjustment if you ask. Bargain for everything in the shops and with cabs. Airport taxi should cost about 100-150k to Sativa Cottages. We went 30km to our next hotel and paid 200k. So offer half to start out. Also, bargain with these tour guides. We paid $30/person for parasailing, not the $80 they posted. There is a supermarket called Hardy's in the middle of town area. It is about a 30 min walk from Sativa. It is kinda like a Walmart, so you can find anything you might need. Happy travels!

Hotel is very good. Swimming pool and the garden are beautiful. The management and team gives great services. If you need rest in a traditional Indonesian environment, please go there. Also important; the beds are very good. About the location; nearby shops and the beach.

This is our 2nd time to Sativa Cottages both times 4-5 day stay. Positives - Location, Peace and Quiet, the pool is lovely, plenty of sun beds, breakfast is great, room is fine and clean, staff are friendly, Balinese tropical feel & setting, price is fine. All these reasons why we went back BUT there is one negative and it is a big one for us - We choose resorts in Bali on Two things, Balinese tropical feel (tick) and swim up bar. Yes you do have a swim up bar but it is never ever ever Manned. This happened on our first visit too, but we went back because of the positives and benefit of the doubt. That might seem minor to you but it's not, people go on holiday's to relax and enjoy novelties away from the usual normal life we have at home. There is nothing better than a morning swim and treat yourself to a morning cocktail or an afternoon swim and have a nice cold beer. Don't get me wrong, the intention is not to get drunk at a swim up bar like some tools, this hotel is lovely and quiet that's why we go there, we even like to sit up at the bar and read, but I can't order a cocktail to enjoy with my afternoon swim and read at the bar or pool side. We shouldn't have to get up and track down someone when we want a drink on a hot pool day, or feel like I have to jump and quickly get a drink when I see someone in the bar for 10 seconds. Even at your 3pm Happy Hour I thought surely we will get service then, but nope, we waited until 3.30pm to once again track someone down to get us a drink. If you do not have the staff to keep someone behind the bar, then at least just have someone do the rounds at the sun beds every 45 mins or so and check. You could have made more money from us that's for sure and I'm sure from everyone else, even it's a coke, juice, coffee, smoothies, cocktails and beers, everyone needs a drink sitting by the pool. Another usual place we stay at in Bali has a swim up bar and it is Manned from 8am to 10pm rain or shine, people or no people, because that is the point I'm trying to make, you shouldn't have one if people can't use it. I just hope you take this on board, the hotel would be much better for it.

Sativa Sanur is in our opinion very good compared to the prize range! Spacious and clean cottages in Balinese style. Beautiful complex and pool area. No excessive luxury, just perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful like most people on Bali.
