Rama Candidasa is a great Destination if you want to relax by the Sea side. I booked this Hotel thru DAE timeshare having a bit of concerned experience with them, but the Hotel was great. Pros: Great Sea View Good and Clean Rooms Great Staff Cons: Far from City Food options outside limited It is just besides the Sea and a great view in the Sea. Note that there are very few sand beaches in Candidasa, so do not expect sand beach here. The Hotel has made a bit of sand beach and relaxing chairs facing the sea. The Rooms are clean and the Hotel Staff is great. Rooms are Clean with a Balcony and good Toilet and Bathroom. There are few restaurants (Warung) within 500m to 1 Km, but the place is quite so do not expect much other than the basic stuff. Few Mini markets/stores to buy basic necessity are available. The Hotel does have 1 shuttle in morning going to the Mini market, but you can take a stroll. Few free activities are available in the Hotel. The Hotel is approx 90 mins from the Airport and same from the City. But good for East Bali tour. Overall Bali is a Safe place and the Hotel is Good with a picturesque view.
Everything was just awesome from the view to the service to the hospitality and the spa... we just loved staying there especially the room facing the ocean are the best . It’s the place I would want to go again and again.... thank you team Rama candiadasa for welcoming us so nicely.
The place was loveley untill a large group of northern Europeans (Finnish, Danish or something of the like)checked in. With a group of males aging from 15 to 50 overtook the entire pool area screaming, running diving and jumping into the pool splashing people, chucking balls across the pool(one landed only a few centre meters from my mothers head) When we asked them to stop they were incredbily rude, mocked us and continued doing it. They completely ruined what was going to be a nice relaxing afternoon by pool, which we couldnt even continue in our room as they were so loud they completely destroyed the peace. I spoke with staff who said the issue would be resolved and nothing happened. I have been here for over a week and had found the place to be very lovely untill this and it had really putting a dampner on the end of our trip. Very unimpressed.
This was my second visit to this hotel in the same year. Although lots has changed from 2016 to 2017. They had stopped the BOGOF offer on happy hour drinks which was a shame. Also the breakfast buffet had stopped. Besides the changes we had an amazing time. Small issue with A.C. in our room but was quickly upgraded to a suite. The management and service is superb. Pool and hotel area is amazing and the coastal view lovely. Taxis to Candiasa are very cheap and easy to arrange. Recommend to visit Queens in the town amazing food and cocktails. Also they do a ladies night on a Monday where women drink for free :)
What a treat!!! Beautifull hotel with an amazing view from our seaview bungalow which we received paying a small price upgrade. Very nice staff, service is excellent. Breakfast was a la carte due to low occupancy, delicious!
The hotel looks fabulous when you arrive Service also very good WiFi connection slow and sometimes it didn’t work properly (you couldn’t connect to it) We wanted to go out on bike at the evening - but they only give you the bike for two hours and you have to be back at 6pm for security reason I find that a bit cheeky Also the room looks in my opinion a little bit out of date or old fashioned Pool and reception are nice Personnel very welcoming Don’t misunderstand me it’s not a bad hotel but I find it’s too expensive
First trip to Candidasa and the resort was great and staff are exceptional. From the Resort Manager, reception staff, restaurant staff to the pool attendant, we were treated like family. Our stay was forced to be extended by 4 days due to the volcanic eruptions of Mt Agung and the ash cloud causing our flight to be cancelled. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating to our needs. Their genuine kindness and assistance was with enthusiasm and heartfeltness.a special thanks to Anik, Sinta, Ariawan, Dharma, Suwela in particular. I work in tourism and have also worked in hotels so I find critique accom and service probably more so than the average person. I am travelling with my elderly mum who has had a knee replacement and has a bad back so having a room with a walk in shower on the ground floor plus access to transport to the town is important. Our room was great and met all our needs. The resort is quiet and very relaxing. They offer free yoga sessions and Kawi the instructor is wonderful as well as other activities as on their website. Food is average and consistently comes out luke warm. Prices are only slightly cheaper than Australian hotel/resort prices but there are plenty of options in town which is 5 mins drive or 20 min walk. In saying this, breakfast options are many and the dining room is very relaxing overlooking the ocean. I would definitely return here with my family and I my mother and I cannot thank EVERYONE for their 5 star hospitality, particularly during a sad and stressful time for the Balinese people. Tourism is so important to them so please keep coming visitors. Candidasa is one of the safety zones from the volcano and you'll enjoy the quiter pace and friendliness of the Balinese people here away from the craziness of Kuta, Seminyak, Legion.
Initially I had given a 3 star review based on our 1st 3 days but I am changing it to a 4 and here are all the details: The initial sighting of the resort shows its beauty. It is stunning, with a beautiful view of the ocean from many locations throughout the resort; especially from the restaurant. Beware it is about 1.5 hours away from the airport depending on traffic (250-300,000rp cost to get there.) Staff: the staff take great care to keep the resort clean and ensure all small details are attended to. They spend hours making flower art around the premisis, cleaning all glass surfaces including lamp covers, sweeping, cutting the grass and clearing water off pathways after every rainfall, taking down and covering all lounge bedding and putting it back out after every rainfall. The rooms are cleaned daily unless you request otherwise. I have to say that they work tirelessly on an uphill battle as some parts of the resort are declining with age; this is most noticeable in the rooms especially in the hotel part of the resort. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms: we were initially given a room in the back part of the resort in the hotel. On the surface the room was quaint and bright but a closer look showed the wear on the rooms. The chrome is coming off faucettes, stains on the bedding, water damage to walls and bathroom floors and that type of thing but still very clean. After our 3rd night we were approached by Darma (perhaps the asst mgr) who had read my initial review and tracked us down by the pool and invited us to move to a junior suite on the other side of the property. This was a nice surprise and we found the new location to be much more up to date , bigger and closer to everything although less bright and cheerful. Pool: beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean. It was heated and very warm; there is a separate shallow area for kids. Towels are provided and there are lots of lounge chairs available, including swinging loungers overlooking the sea. Beach: there is a tiny stretch of sand beside the resort in front of the dive shop that you can use if you want to swim between boats anchored near shore. Otherwise there is no beach to speak of; it was destroyed due to poor development planning years ago. Activities: there is a free activity offered each day and an on-site tour operator for other adventures. Just be aware that these other activities will cost a lot. If you go into town or book elsewhere you can find things a fraction of the cost. Restaurant: the buffet breakfast was not included in the RCI package and was quite expensive but did not disappoint. There were different options each day and the food was 5 star quality with fresh pressed juice selections and choice of international cuisines. Other than breakfast we did not eat at the restaurant as the prices were absolutely outrageous and you can eat for a fraction of the cost right outside the gates and all along the street into town. For RCI members- expect the bare bones basics and to be nickel and dimed for every additional service. As I said breakfast was not included for RCI although is part of the cost of the room when booking direct, there was a $15/day USD service fee(higher than any I have incurred anywhere else), you'll have to make your own way there from the airport (1.5 hours) and you'll be in the back of the resort in the aging hotel rooms unless you pay a minimum $40 USD per night upgrade. If I had booked a suite online I would absolutely have been happy and impressed by this resort;I wouldn't book through RCI again though. Many thanks to the manager Dewi for going above and beyond to improve our holiday with the resort despite the shortcomings of the RCI experience.
Came to Bali and wanted to stay somewhere different in Candidasa, was recommended to stay at Rama Candidasa and it was amazing. Check in was a breeze, three beds in one room and we had plenty of room. The location, right near the pool overlooking the ocean, beautiful relaxing hotel.
I love the place. Very pleasing to the eyes. Its our first day and hopefully my review wont change. Great place for pictures as well. Only thing I did not like is you cant swim on their beachfront. Too rocky and waves are too strong.
