We spent 3 nights here while visiting sights near Ubud. The room was very comfortable with a huge bathtub and a little balcony over a pool. While there was a shuttle into Ubud it didn't run very often. The dining area was a bit bleak especially as we were pretty much the only people in it on most occasions. There was no comfortable communal seating such as a bar. The staff were very friendly and over keen. Being so far from the centre we didn't feel we had experienced the best of Ubud.
Puri Sunia Reosrt is a secluded new property in the amidst of nature. It is approximately 5kms away from the main Ubud market. The resort is beautiful. They have two pools, spa and an amazing restaurant.I stayed in their Nandini Suite. The rooms are massive with a bed covered with shiny white sheets and surrounded by white curtains. The room is located on the first floor and have private balconies. The bathrooms are clean, have a really nice bathing area with a tub. They offer you varied shampoos, body cleansers and bathing crystals which can make your bubble bath even more awesome. The pools are also fairly clean and there is a lot of greenery surrounding the entire property. One great thing is that you can get some amazing pictures here. The breakfast is my favorite part at Puri Sunia. You cannot miss it. They have fresh tropical fruits and juices. And they bake fresh bread. They smell great and are a lip smacking delicacy. These assorted breads have croissants, buns , whole wheat breads and muffins. The breakfast instantly lifts up your mood and gets you ready for the day. The staff is really helpful and courteous, but that is something you would find across Bali. They have some really amazing people. The spa here is also great but you can definitely try out other options in Ubud, which have flower baths and savories. The only disadvantage is the location, which is not much of a negative point as they have shuttle service almost every hour in the morning and evening and you can get a scooter/bike from Ubud. I had a great experience here and I am definitely coming back for those fresh breads.
Before I go into detail just book it now you won’t regret it!! We stayed here for 3 nights in October and had an amazing time from start to finish. We were welcomed with flowers in our hair & lovely drinks on arrival by very friendly staff members. The whole place is incredibly calming, the staff, music, incense - it’s so peaceful. The hotel has 2 pools and plenty of beds, sadly didn’t get any time to relax here but the areas looked lovely. All of the rooms are very private with their own lovely balcony areas to the back. After reading online before I came I was worried about the doors as people have mentioned they don’t quite join fully but we had no problem with bugs at all. We slept each night with the fan on and nets closed just in case. The bed is so comfy and huge. Bath is amazing and the shower too. Lots of room for your clothes and cases. My only negative for this place is the poor air con, we left it on at night but still woke up very hot as it’s so humid (like I’ve never experienced before! Especially after rain pieces of paper I had in the room went almost soggy from humidity alone!) The restaurant is AMAZING. The menu is varied and prices are so good for the quality of food. Everything we tried was so delicious. Service is very good, feel it a little harsh some of the comments about that as you can tell sometimes they may be nervous but they’re so friendly and always tried so hard. Breakfast is amazing it’s like 3 courses and cooked so freshly for you whatever you fancy. Trips organised through the hotel are great. It’s cheapest in Bali to get your own private driver for the day, most tours are around £30 for the whole day! Very good value and we didn’t fancy hiring scooters. They have set tours for some popular spots but offer personalised trips for whatever you want to do. We had 2 drivers and they were both so good. Very careful driving and very friendly we learnt so many more interesting things from them about the culture here. It’s a great place to tour from being in the middle of the island and in my opinion the best place in Bali to stay we loved it. We had an incredible time here and would definitely come back. Thank you again for such an amazing stay, all the staff made it so special for us.
We only visited the hotel restaurant but we could see that the resort was lovely, the staff were amazing and very friendly they couldn’t do enough to help! :) the food was incredible and large portions
All in all a good and worthwhile stay. In order to save time, let us make a simple list-style review. First, the deficiencies observed: 1. After heavy rain, the walls might leak some water through 2. Feels like the hot water cuts way too early in the night 3. The rooms are not made up properly (items not replenished, trashes not taken out) 4. Some rooms have very difficult locks! 5. After having a meal there each day, we can declare that the restaurant's table service is a total massive, enormous mess (feels like it was the first day of a restaurant academy's first grade) However, there was much positive to be found and these things made us feel comfortable: 1. Great food in the restaurant! (if you make it so far) 2. Breakfast is á la carte which is a very welcome surprise in the world of utterly faceless buffet spreads 3. Good front desk (organizes cars with drivers and gives good tips on the surrounding areas) 4. Room service is BETTER and more ENJOYABLE than the house of horrors circus at the main restaurant - don't be shy of dining in your room! 5. The resort is set amidst a beautiful jungle with lush rainforest canopy, koi pools, Balinese statues, and other rock art - a five star creation by some landscape architect
My wife and I loved the quiet and private villa's.The location was great for bike riding and exploring the local art. The food was great and the staff fantastic. I am planning another trip back there with my new born baby. We loved it so much.
This place isn’t for families with kids because of the atmosphere. It’s beautiful, serene and screaming green. Food was yummy, good staff, good pool. Great for honeymooners. View of ricefields is lovely,
The whole visit to Puri Sunia was great from start to finish. The hotel staff should be commended as even if things were lost in translation they were very helpful and accommodating. Definitely a resort that I would recommend
This is just amazing hotel! Pluses: - super cute area - mind blowing vegetation inside hotel; - very nice rooms (villas style); - super good service! - amazing small pools with jungle view; - very good breakfast; - rice field view from restaurant; - feee morning yoga class; - free tour to discover around (amazing!); - can get a bike or rent motorbike; - small cute cheap restaurant just 50 meters away on the hill (highly recommend!) - a little away from busy Ubud center - perfect gor quite vacation! Minuses: non) (so rare...) Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, families. Amazing!
Fireflies in the paddy’s as you walk to the bridge.... a little magical. Nice breakfast, nice view, nice pool, lovely day spa but close curtains as we can see in from some rooms. I’d recommend. Great that you can have complimentary breakfast in your room up until 11.
