Stayed for two nights as part of Gadventures tour (1st and last night). Clean and comfortable, lovely setting, friendly staff. Surrounding area very busy but close to beach. Two swimming pools looked inviting but didn't have sufficient time to test them out. Ok for base if visiting area.
This place is an absolute shambles from start to finish and I was genuinely gutted to be ending our holiday here. To start, the hotel is nowhere near the main Sanur area, beach, bars, restaurants, etc. When we arrived, they didn't even have our booking and we were placed in another room as they had overbooked. The place was outdated, smelt, and had ants crawling over the bathroom. The bedsheets were covered in stains and when we asked the next morning to have them changed we came back to the same bedsheets. After phoning reception again to change the sheets they sent someone that had to go through 5 "clean" sheets to find one without stains, and I definitely don't consider myself a clean freak but blood stains crossed a line. What makes things worse was that they were completely unapologetic for it. We came here because of the good reviews but this place must have gone downhill quickly. I couldn't have been more been disappointed. Having travelled in budget hotels for a while there are definitely better hotels in the same price range.
Stayed here in January 2016 while travelling in Bali. Excellent food and drinks and as a coffee lover....the best iced coffee I've had! Pool was nice, rooms were clean and the service was great. Location was pretty good too being only a 5 minute walk from the beach. Highly recommend if travelling in Bali!
Clean pool, friendly staff who are always attentive and ready to help. We had a DND sign on our door but the left all our supplies by our balcony and even provided a clothes rack for our wet clothes. Very proactive. The room is good but the bathroom needs and update. Good hotel for the price.
It is a great hideaway to stay at. If you want to be treated as person and not a number, and you like to be served by the warmest and friendly people you are likely to meet then this is the place for you Always trying to improve, always making sure everything is fine
For the price, the hotel is OK. The room was not very clean and it smelled a lot like toilet cleaner. The pool area is nice and has a lot of plants and is neatly decorated. The breakfast is not worth it. The fruits ate as always OK. But the rest is not really fresh.
Located on a busy road, just a few minutes walk from the beach, you would be forgiven for missing this hotel but from the moment you enter reception you instantly forget about the traffic madness just a few feet away. You drift away to the Balinese music as you take in the splendid gardens and walked past the two pools towards either your room or the massage table. Now, although I've rated this as 4 star, it certainly isn't a four star hotel but the staff are very friendly, attentive and the amenities are really very good. The TV seemed to be hit and miss depending on your room - I was part of a group tour and stayed in 3 different rooms so I have a good understanding of them. Air con worked and was a god send when my pale English skin could no longer take the Bali heat! The breakfast was decent with a range of local foods and limited western options whilst in the evenings the restaurant served good food. The Bali food was better than the Western but that should really be the case... It's a great location and taxi drivers are pitched up on the forecourt for ease next to an ATM. The beach is minutes away where you can go on day trips or visit the markets. This price for this location and with this level of service means I would wholeheartedly recommend Puri Dalem and would definitely return.
If you are staying in Sanur in Bali, this hotel is a hidden gem. Although on a busy street, once you get inside the main gate, it is peaceful. With 2 quiet pools to lounge around, plenty of lush flora, and friendly staff it's a good bargain. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away (although throught busy streets so not an overly pleasant stroll).
We have always stayed at this Hotel over the past 16 years, more than a dozen times now, so there must be something that brings us back each time. Over that period of time we have witnessed many changes, but there are some constant and consistent traits of this Hotel, that stand out. The gardens are a credit to the handful of gardeners who dutifully tend to the surrounds on a daily basis. The two clean swimming pools are always inviting, no matter what time of the day. The Reception staff Ketut & Dayu are always very accommodating, whether it be simply arranging a shuttle bus to the Besakih Hotel or Hardys Supermarket, or efficiently connecting your local phone calls. The Restaurant, with waiters Wayan, Made, Dini & Tina, for evening & lunchtime meals, have always been delightfully freshly prepared, and at a very economical cost. No added tax here, always included. We ate nearly every night at the Restaurant over our 10 night stay for less than $8 each per meal. Now that's great value. Each time we come back, we notice little things that the Hotel management have adopted due to listening to long time repeat guests like us. While the Breakfast options are somewhat limited compared to higher ranked Hotels, the fresh fruit, rice &/or noodles, steamed vegetables, fried chicken or sausages, pancakes, eggs, plus the usual toast, juices, tea & coffee, is more than adequate. The rooms do need a bit of a lift, but we are aware that this is in progress, together with more seating around the pools. Basically this is a budget priced-Hotel offering fantastic value, great service, excellent food, set in a beautiful tropical Garden. If you want the Beach, you'll pay up to more than 4 times the price than here. The choice is yours, but I know where I'd rather be.
ABout 5 minutes walk from the beach. Hotel has own pools, nice grounds, very peaceful setting air conditioning, good breakfasts and very helpful staff. Restaurants are close to the hotel too. Would recommend staying there
