This was our second stay at Peppers and will return again in the future, the size of the villas allows you to relax and the level of service from the staff is amazing. We did have a shock of disappointment when first checking in to find the deck around the main pool was being refurbished and we’d not been informed. We’d previously eaten breakfast here and had only booked a smaller 2 bed villa knowing we could get more space by occasionally hanging by the main pool. Our disappointment didn’t last long however when they upgraded us to a 3bed villa which gave us the space we needed. It seems they’d decided to refurbish the deck hastily due to being low season and hadn’t informed guests, we were told the work should be completed by mid February. Previously the breakfasts had been a buffet style banquet which although initially always seems great but I tend to always over indulge and I’m always concerned with cross contamination with so many people handling the different utensils and food. They had changed this to ordering from a menu and the food was well prepared and they always offered us more. I find the gym sufficient for my needs although two of the bike machines weren’t working and could do to be fixed/upgraded. The staff could not do enough to help us and remembered us all by name every time they saw us. The kids loved being shuttled around on the golf buggies to get to the front and back gate. It’s brilliantly positioned for everything in Seminyak but hidden away enough to be quiet and isolated. We’ll definitely stay again.
I try not to leave bad reviews, preferring to sort any issues directly with the hotel while there. But I have to be totally honest with this hotel, to prevent anyone else arriving with high expectations, and being disappointed. This is in no way a 5 star hotel; I'd put it at a 3 star at best. My husband and I booked the 1 bed pool villa through Agoda for 3 nights over the new year. I made the mistake of only checking the booking confirmation from Agoda, which clearly had a picture of a bedroom and living area in a contained apartment. I think this must be a picture taken from one of their other rooms, as the garden villa with pool is essentially outdoors. The only area covered, with air conditioning and free from mosquitoes, is the bedroom and part of the bathroom. Even the actual toilet is outdoors, and we had heavy rain for the trip, so we couldn't go to the toilet without getting totally wet. But even if there wasn't any rain and it was hot and humid, you wouldn't really want to use the kitchen/dining/living area as there is no air con. The living and dining area is exposed to the elements, with only a flimsy shutter to pull down in rain. So the whole of the marble flooring of that area became wet; dangerously so. You essentially can't use the kitchen/diner or living area when it's raining. You also can't get to that area without getting totally wet, as there is no covered area between bedroom and living area. It's the most poorly designed set up I've ever come across. All this aside, the hotel is really tired looking and could do with some renovation. There was thick mould on the outdoor shower, the sink basin is cracked, the decking green and mouldy. On the way into the villa (we were in villa 52 near the entrance) you have to cross a bridge with the most stinky, polluted stream next to it. Furthermore, the actual Peppers complex is a good 10 minute walk from the main street of Seminyak down a narrow street (think alleyway in more developed country terms), which gets very dark at night. You can get a buggy from the hotel to the main street, but if you want to get back after a night out, you'd need to get a taxi (and traffic in Seminyak is horrendous). I could go on about some of the non 5 star experience of the service etc. but I won't in the interest of keeping this short. We raised all our concerns with the hotel staff, who listened and understood our concerns and tried to be as helpful as possible, but they couldn't move us to another room with a self contained area, as they were all fully booked. We asked if we could cut our stay short as this was so below our expectation and standard for the money. Thankfully, after some negotiation, they agreed to this. I can see the positives for this hotel. For people who have families with kids, they can enjoy the private pool set up in the villa, and if you are a large group of friends who want to stay together and enjoy the convenience of chilling out by the private villa pool, you'd also be pretty happy with this setup. But if you're a couple who travel regularly and are used to staying in 5* hotels, you risk being pretty disappointed here.
Peppers Seminyak is an amazing resort, for adults, there is not much for kids to do than play pool at the bar, there is not much in the area for kids either, there is only night clubs and expensive restraunts in the district. The resort is very fancy and you couldn’t fault it, the villas also 5 Star, couldn’t fault it.
I stayed in a 3 bedroom presidential pool villa at Peppers Seminyak for a girls trip with 5 other ladies. It was potentially the most luxurious place that I have ever stayed. It was absolutely perfect for our group. We arranged a private BBQ in our villa one night, enjoyed a whole day at the spa, lazed by the pool, and explored Seminyak by foot from the resort. It was easy to get to the area around Alila and Potato Head on foot, but to get closer to Legian, we took a taxi.
Stayed with Peppers based on our familiarity of the brand within Australia. Didn’t disappoint. Staff where great and extremely helpful. We stayed in a four bedroom presidential villa with another family (4 adults and 5 children) and we had ample room. The facilities, whilst in areas are looking a little tired, overall they where no less than expected. If there was a complaint, it would only be that the a/c and fans where a little too noisy when left on over night. If wanting to base yourself in the heart of Seminyak within walking distance to all of the best restaurants than Peppers should be considered. Also not forgetting the in house option of the Laneway restaurant for breakfast and two for one afternoon cocktails for those lazy days!!!
We were staying at 4 bedroom villas. The room it's self is very comfortable, nice lighting that makes you feels like just want to stay in the room. Pool villa were clean and it's spacious for 6 of us. Breakfast was definitely lovely, just next to it you'll find a pool to just chill or even to watch ( it's kinda nature to hear the voice of water). Staff was very friendly. Neighborhood? You can definitely need only walking distance to see others happening restaurants and beach clubs ( not to mention but Potatohead beach club). We enjoyed!
Really enjoyed our time at Peppers...we stayed in a 4 bedroom Villa with total on 8 adults. Easily accommodate us and have read compliants about buggies and poor service but didn't experience any of this. The only negative is that thetimber deck around the pool needs to be replaced as it is past its safe and useful life. Highly recommend
Bad Service, Cart takes to much time to come and many times it doesn't come at all. We took two presidential villa and paid us$ 1000/day/ villa, but service was pathetic. There was no iron in whole vila and took 45 Mts to get iron that also after giving so many calls. No drinking water bottle in the vila. You have to call them for water also. Pool was not clean in one of the villa, Staff are very rude. For everything they apologize nd repeat the same mistake again. We took two vila and requested to give us side by side but it was not given and reception people promised that they will arrange it next day but nothing happened. The lighting in the villa was terrible, one of the us felt into the water with the fishes. Its not recommended at all for those who want to enjoy villa or holidays in Bali. There are lot of other good properties in better price and services.
Lighting in the villas are terrible. Easy to lose the way in the night and fall. Especially with the rain, the deficiency in the lighting is highlighted. Apart from that, rooms are poorly lit, and don’t have something as basic as a charging port next to the bed. Service throughout the stay was terrible. The cart drivers and housekeeping staff take an excruciatingly long time to report to the villas. The only positive, villas look good and are spacious, as are the restrooms!
The reviews and ratings for Peppers meant that expectations before coming were high...and it absolutely did not disappoint. We had a 1-Bedroom Villa for what was effectively our second honeymoon and could not have been happier. The privacy of the villa gave us some quiey time when we wanted it and the location within Seminyak meant that there are plenty of choices for food, drinks and entertainment. Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay here longer but given the impression we've been left with it'll only be a matter of time before we're back.
