Our stay was 65/35, when we arrived we had been in a luxury villa in seminyak so uluwatu in general was a shock due to how quiet it is in comparison. Then we had our hut, considering it is a wooden hut I thought they did particularly well in keeping the bugs out. I was greeted by an army of ants in our bathroom sink on morning 1 but they never returned after the room was cleaned. The beds were comfy and the hut was cool without aircon considering the daily heat. We did wake up to droppings as mentioned in previous reviews, in our wardrobe, sink and dressing tables that wasn't pleasant to wake up to. The staff are very friendly, we also got ill whilst staying, and like other people mentioned the open bathrooms need some amendments, we could see into our neighbours bathrooms at night due to the lights being on but not during the day. Uluwatu in general is quiet, make arrangements with the taxi guys next door if u do trips as the drivers at pandawa beach, Padang Padang or single fish try to scam you. Visit the pura uluwatu temple but be careful with these monkeys because they are braver than monkey forest, we saw sunglasses being taken so just move away and take care. This hotel is an experience I would not say don't stay but don't have high expectations and for the money you pay in comparison to other places they could do with updating and hygiene. You do feel like you are at one with nature, the fields behind generate noise from the animals at night, Bali isn't all about luxury sometimes it's getting an insight into how others live.
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at and that’s saying something. We wanted unique experiences for our honeymoon so have been staying at a lot of bungalow style hotels and resorts - which means most of them have open roof bathrooms and yes you have to deal with bugs a bit. So please understand when you read this that we’re used to roughing it and we aren’t picky people - I mean a frog jumped into our bathroom at one of the other hotels we stayed at and we still loved it. So here are the things that were so horrible we checked out early. - the shower head was COVERED in algae - it looked like it could come alive at any moment - the toilet was dirty and looked like it had been broken and glued back together - also the bathroom wall was very low so someone could have poked their head over and watched you use the washroom if you wanted to risk using it at all. - there were ants all over the room and bathroom with whole clusters dotting both areas. In the closet it looked like the ants were eating through the wall - the safe was broken and the staff member who tried fixing it basically told us he would be back again and never came back. - there was a locking drawer in the closet that had some form of bug pellets and long bug legs leading me to believe that there may have been cockroaches. - dark brown stain on the bed sheets - cigarette burn in the mosquito net - our bungalow (606) seemed like a breeding ground for mosquitos. We closed the net and sprayed bug spray but that didn’t help. We spent the night killing more and more mosquitos that seemed to be appearing inside the net - the fan sounded like it was sloshing around water so honestly the mosquitos could have been coming from there. - they served me raw pork and when we tried pointing it out to them they just nodded and said it was ok. We had to talk to several people before they would take it off the bill because they didn’t understand a word we were saying. Also vegetarians be warned. Their vegetable dishes all come with meat. - the staff didn’t speak English and didn’t really seem like they knew what they were doing except for one or two. At least getting a refund was relatively easy. And just so you know it wasn’t all us - there was another group trying to do the same right after us and to be honest it seemed like the staff were pretty used to it. DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible horrible hotel, terrible experience.
I was feeling ill, so this might influence my review but I'll try and stay objective. FOOD: Room service arrived very fast (suspicious). I looked at their vegetable menu, because I couldn't stand the thought of meat the way I was feeling. We discovered that although some ingredients on the menus dishes are listen they often leave out crucial ones. So, my dish came with shrimps and a sort of sausage. The bruschetta says it has chicken on it and when we asked they said, it doesn't but it has bacon instead (so I didn't order it). All in all the food was very greasy and I didn't eat much. The food wasn't the cheapest. For breakfast I had the vegetarian fried rice which I thought was great but my girlfriend thought was too greasy. The papaya that came with the fruit salad was really bitter. SERVICE: The staff was friendly but when we woke up the next morning our food was still in front of our door and it stunk. For 90€ a room (we got a cheaper deal on booking.com) you usually get room service that picks up the food after you finished eating. When we ordered breakfast they didn't seem to be paying attention to what we were ordering and they ended up bringing juice with sugar although we asked without and we had to order our fruit salad twice until it came. ROOM: Our room had a creative and rustic touch to it but didn't seem in top condition. To stop insects from coming in (I presume), they hung up a net that now has gathered a lot of dirt over time. The bathroom doesn't have a roof so when I was using the toilet or showering I got the occasional walking by of a gardener. The shampoo was good, I liked that. They had a fridge, aircon and the blinds cut out the sun completely which is great if you want to sleep in. Don't know if this is related to room but I woke up with a rash on my side. All in all I expected more for the price. We payed much less for much better stays.
We were a little concerned about staying here due to a couple of recent negative reviews. I am very pleased to say that we were very happy with our stay of 6 nights. We were in a bungalow (305) at the back of the resort. It was very rustic, but clean and functional. The outdoor bathroom was great and the day bed on the veranda was used many times. The staff were very helpful and Christian went above and beyond many times. The in house food was very very good. We really enjoyed everything about our stay here and would stay again.
My stay here was lovely - our room (604) was very cosy, very comfortable bed, very clean, and had a lovely porch where you could sit outside your bedroom. The staff were so friendly! Christian, one of the staff members went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, and he gave us lots of tips on good beaches and nearby restaurants. We had a fantastic 1 hour massage in the spa hut andi couldn't recommend it enough, we felt amazing afterwards! They show a movie in the evening in the communal area at 7pm - so to reviews on here that are complaining about the film keeping them awake I feel are slightly harsh. Couldn't fault our stay. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Bandung/Uluwatu area.
The hotel is wonderfully placed and extremely kind staff especially Christian who made our stay extremely enjoyable. The rooms are clean and tranquil and most importantly clean. Would recommend highly
Myself and my partner read the reviews on here before we booked and thought people may have been being a bit harsh so gave it a go. Please if you read this understand we are not the type of people to moan and complain but this place really is terrible. We arrived late in the evening and when we got to the check in desk we were met with someone that didn't know what they were doing.. check in took us over an hour! We were told the room we booked was not available ( all pre booked with confirmation email ) so we had to go in the lowest standard of room when we booked one of the higher ones ( pool view room ) and we were told the price had gone up by $100 aud even though we had booked and confirmed a price. We were told to speak to the manager the next day but still forced to pay if we wanted to spend the night. The room was ok ( No305 ) it was at the back of the "resort" negatives of the room were that it was very dark but the biggest issue was that with the outside toilet everytime you sat on the toilet people would walk past and be able to look down and see you - I made eye contact with many people whilst on the toilet which was quite the experience!! If you like privacy this is not the place for you! Our room was not serviced the whole three four nights we were there at all, the power went out several times and we had to ask many times for it to be sorted out. The most noticeable issue with the place are the staff members, really rude and not what you would expect from Indonesian people who are normally so warm and have exceptionally hospitality and customer service. We were really disappointed with our stay and would recommend you do not ignore this review and book into this place.
I don't usually complain this much about hotels but... Our stay here couldn't have been worst. We had to switch rooms because our bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned in what seemed to be months. We found a cockroach in one of our drawers. The staff was nice enough to bump us up to a more expensive room with no extra charge and a pool view. It seemed a whole lot better until we found an entire colony of ants on our stuff. On top of that, the resort has roosters on its property don't expect to get ANY sleep from 2AM to 6AM. They also play a movie around 8PM so if your room is near the screen, just like ours was, forget about going to bed early after a long day at the beach. The walls aren't soundproof whatsoever, so if you have kids running around the resort and screaming, that can be bothersome as well. The lack of proper sleep and comfort ruined our stay in Uluwatu. We had trouble appreciating the beautiful views because we were so tired and irritable. So once again, AVOID this resort.
Entrance to the resort is a beautifully decorated Thai restaurant, food is nice and breakfast is served here too. Villas are fantastic, it's like your own private Balinese village. Room had everything we needed with it's own private outside bathroom, including; fresh towels, toiletries, very nice bed with mosquito net, AC and a fan, mini fridge, dressing table, outside balcony and sitting area. No in-room phone, but staff were extremely helpful and it's a short walk to reception - Christian was especially welcoming and went that extra mile to help us whenever we needed something. Loved the pool, towels provided here too. Not much near by or within walking distance - except for the golf club, but the hotel offer a personal private taxi service to tourist attractions and beaches. We used this on our trip to Uluwatu Temple. (TIP: if going here make sure you have a return taxi booked as getting hold of one after the dance show can be difficult - we learnt the hard way! Ask the hotel to pick you up!) Overall, loved our stay here. Would stay again. Even though close to main road, and a bit out of town - extremely peaceful and a hidden Bali paradise.
" My dream "hotel at first made a very nice impression . Can't deny that the hotel area is very pleasant, the garden and design of the place in general is nice and super good looking , houses are good as well for the price they asked, as long as the hotel restaurant wasn't bad , not perfect but had some ok decent food . Since we are not very picky people we didn't mind the fact that they don't clean everyday along with some little details like weird brown liquid falling down from the ceiling time at a time it's whatever . Honestly after the second day it was very clear that the staff of the hotel is very much neglecting their responsibilities , don't want to sound too rude but workers were straight up lazy . you could ask for breakfast in the room and come back to your bungalow at night and find that pile of dirty dishes from the morning. Ok we asked to clean they picked it up , whatever . On the fourth day of our stay there we had to ask the cleaning lady to clean the room . Once again we came back in the evening and found our room in the same condition as it was before. The lady didn't even clean the trash can in the bathroom no bed sheets were changed , horrible . We arrived to this hotel with a couple whom we met a couple of days before , it turned out that our plans of spending the last week in Bali were the same . We hung out with them sometimes having lunch dinner or whatever in the hotel. Whatever you consume in the hotel they put it on your name to make a long story short , This couple left two days earlier than us very early in the morning . Then the stuff told us that "our friends " forgot to pay the bill . Now , once again the hotel stuff is lazy , they barely do things round even ordering some food they forget to bring , so they didn't remind these people about the bill , in the morning they were waiting at the reception no one was there at the desk , the desk had no light nobody, no signs of life and they left. The next day hotel stuff attack us saying we have to pay for people we met 5 days ago . Despite the fact that we knew these people for 5 days and we live in different countries , We gave the contact we had to the hotel so they could try to contact them themselves. Because it's clearly not our problem that they can't do their job properly . The highlight of this mess was when we payed all the bills with tips and stuff one day before checking out , we were leaving the hotel at 5:50 am to catch a plane at 7:40 am. A night shift man didn't let us go out he was screaming we have to pay the bill which was not ours he was threatening to call the police (with whom we would gladly discuss with, if not for the fact of being late for a morning plane ), the man went mad screaming that I'm the sister of those people that we are family , calling us thieves . he tried to take away my passport , I was literally fighting for my passport back , the guy didn't care that we have different names he was claiming that I am the family of those people . We had to wake up the whole group of waiters and hotel workers so they could explain to the man that the names are different . Then he started putting his hands on my boyfriend ( he was so lucky my boyfriend could control himself and acted like a civilized man , while being attacked and pushed ) we were near late for the check in. Disgusted by these people , disgusted by this hotel . Be careful guys , some people smiling at your face with the brightest smile can disrespect you and fight you literally for some sick false conclusions they've dropped . Great stay "my dream "! We will never forget such a disrespect , shame on you.
