Location was great, staff were great, breakfast good. The rooms were a huge let down. The bathroom is what let's the rooms down most. Firstly they weren't clean, particularly the very old mouldy blind. Secondly, the bathroom is very poorly designed in which you cannot sit on the toilet and fit your legs in and I'm only 5ft4. The aircon was also very loud due to the unit being old and seemed to have either an off or freezing mode with little else between. Overall, the rooms are very outdated and at the moment in no way deserving of a 4 star rating. There are much better hotels across Kuta if you're looking for something more upmarket. Best way to sight see it to hire a taxi from the hotel for the day. Wayan is a wonderfully kind and intelligent taxi driver who will take you to the best places and not try to take you places where he will get commission!

I had a good stay for 2 nights here. The structures and design made it comfortable. The downside is the balcony. Its too small but great for couples. But if you are going for short trip, definitely check the place. The pool side is overlooking the beach. Great for sunset view. The restaurant is spacious. Loving the breakfast they're preparing. Many choices to choose from.

When our flight was delayed by 16 hours half of the passengers were sent to the Hilton and the rest of us to the Mercure Kuta. I know it was late but we had to ask for another room as the first had tiny single beds and the aircon was not functioning. The second one was already icy cold and you couldn’t adjust the thermostat. The staff refused to bring up any milk (uht) or the other bottle of water that was supposed to be in the room. The rooms are old and the curtains had worn transparent bits that you could see when the sun was up. The bed was good and breakfast was fine. The day staff had it all over the night duty people - guess that’s why they’re on the evening shift. The hotel is on a foul main road that is full of traffic all the time. It’s not an attractive part of town. Avoid.

This was our first stay in Kuta and really happy with our choice. The staff were fantastic, the reception/lobby was open and cool. Our room was one of the older ones but could not fault it considering the age. Some of the resort was in the process of being renovated. One of our party had a renovate room and it looks great. The rooms now have international power points or power boards, The infinity pool is beautiful with pool side service and a great view of the street, beach and sunsets. Location is fantastic, Beachwalk Shopping centre just up the road with a few restaurants and backs on to Poppies lane, McDonalds, Guardian Pharmacy, Circle K and Pizza Hut really close Hard Rock next door. I recommend Mercure Kuta for everything it has to offer.

Was staying in this hotel in the last week of Dec 2017. As I was a Accor Plat member, I was upgraded to a suite on the top floor. Took a Uber ride from the airport to the hotel which cost around IDR37k, much cheaper than the IDR150k that the normal cab drivers are charging. Breakfast was at the restaurant on the top floor. Restaurant is not air-conditioned. Spread of food was more local than international. Nothing to complain, nothing to remember. The suite on the top floor is an standalone room which you have to walk through some steps and door ledge to get to. Good for privacy but will have to be careful when going in and out of the room at night. Outside the suite, you can access the swimming pool which is also at the top floor. You can also to the front and enjoy the sea view. There are a number of beach chairs for you to laze around. Recommendation is to do so after 5pm evening when the sun is not in your eyes. Can read a book while sipping away. The suite is quite spacious so it was ideal for my family with 2 young kids - 5 and 2. From the top floor, you can also see the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel which is next door. Air-conditioning was not cold during the first 2 days, but it was promptly rectified the next day when we reported the fault. The concierge staff was the best. Very friendly and helpful. When my girls wanted to feed the kois in the ground floor pond in the middle of hotel, the concierge staff was kind enough to provide the fish feed to my girls. Every day. It is something that my girls look forward to every morning after breakfast. Too bad there was no Christmas restaurant and we went to Sheraton for our Christmas dinner. This hotel is a 10mins walk from Beachwalk shopping centre. And Starbucks and Pizza Hut are beside the entrance to this hotel.

First of all i tried to book hotel pick up from the airport. I emailed reservations a few days in advance before we left Perth WA. No reply so i emailed again & again. I said to my wife, is this a sign how our accommadation will be ? I was right !!! We ended up getting a taxi from the airport. First day we were there i put some drinks in the fridge. Next day they were still warm. They had to bring us a new fridge in the end. The air - cond was so noisy so they came to fix that. Was quieter but dripping water now so they had to come back again. They asked us if we wanted to change rooms, bearing in mind I paid for the best room available { junior suite }. After a couple of days the air - Cond settled down. Breakfast was ordinary, not much choice, especially after 10 nights there. We normally like to take advantage of the spa while being on holiday. Enter at your own risk!!! They had 2 rooms overlooking Kuta beach. The air - conds did not work in either. The rooms & furniture were old & dirty. We went up the road to Kuta Seaview Cottages & had our spas there. Highly recommend these. Getting back to the room trouble. We asked to see the manager, that never happened. On check out he suddenly appeared & wanted to talk but I had a plane to catch & no time to waste. So do not waste your time staying there. There is a lot better accommodation out there !!!

Stayed at the Mercure for a couple of nights before heading to Gili T. Hotel and location are great, but customer service wasn’t great. We found that a bit stressful, however, it’s cheap so you get what you pay for. Pros and cons as follows: Pros: - infinity pool is really pretty & a lovely view - comfortable beds and pillows - air conditioned rooms - cheap accomodation - central location - nice and clean - cute carp pond in reception - not many people seem to stay here so it’s not too busy - free wifi - good shower pressure Cons - terrible service with questionable practices around pricing & accounts - staff have a very poor grasp of English - construction is ongoing so prepare for heaps of noise and banging! (This isn’t advertised so don’t be surprised like us) - refurbished rooms smelt like damp - showers arent hot and water smells like pond water - restaurant food isn’t very nice. We tried the dinner and it was awful - if something is wrong with your room, expect a 1-2 hour delay. Our safe didn’t work and they wanted us to wait 2 hours for it to be fixed. At night after a long flight. - they wouldn’t help us organise transfers which was super unusual.

Located in the centre of Kuta Beach, the hotel is in a great spot for beach. we stayed 4D3N here for holidays ! The room was very clean and comfortable, i love the bathroom ! What we love the most from this Hotel are so many ! Especially, the sunset view from the rooftop swimming pool, breakfast buffet and yeah the Bed-room ! You won't regret if u choose this hotel !

Beautiful hotel, super super friendly and helpful staff, great location in Kuta. I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms up the back and it was a really nice, comfortable and quiet room. Rooftop pool sensational. I saw a few reviews bagging out the breakfast, but I thought the breakfast was varied and delicious - the balinese food was delicious if you're not scared and have a go, and there was plenty of western style breakfast food as well. The restaurant also has a great view from the window tables.

We had a wonderful stay, and were in a newly renovated room. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. I enjoyed swimming the pool, and the staff were so friendly. I would stay there again!
