Refurbished room was good,WiFi was excellent, was on the 4th floor with ocean views from the side only.Very noisy till late night due to the music blaring from Hard Rock Hotel next door. Breakfast was ordinary. Location and Service was very good
Ideal location overlooking Kuta Beach. Fantastic view from roof top pool at sunset. All staff very friendly. Waiters in the restaurant attentive and quick to serve. Mojitos at sunset were good - but bar had a limited range. Wine was not available at the time - using Ramadan as an excuse. However this did not affect the stocks of other alcoholic drinks! Suggest that manager does better stock control.
So yeah, let’s start with the positive sides. The pool, yes the infinity pool is a tremendous joy! And everything is walking distance. It is crammed in between malls, stores, restaurants, Starbucks, and the beach. And the conference/meeting room is great as well. Aaaaand now, the negative ones. Currently this place is under construction. Duh, it was loud, constant and banging/hammering. Oh, and most staff don’t have a strong English grasp. Would’ve been 4-bubble if not because of that construction getting on visitors’ nerves. Just sayin’.
This is a great hotel for the value and location. I had a newly furnished room, the bed, patio and shower were amazing. Don't forget the free breakfast, well worth it. It is next door to the Hard Rock hotel but half the price and closer to the beach. You can also rent surf boards directly on premises and get lessons. I will stay there next time I'm in Bali.
Stayed 21st - 23rd May. Arrived late around 3-4pm on 21st. waited for 15min for the check in. Renovation work going on - noisy Spoiler 1 - (Bed) - big brown stain (at least 80 cm x 80cm) found on the bedsheet near the pillow area. surprise that the staff did not bother to change or flip when they change bedsheets. To my dismay, the stain is from the bed topper and bed protector, which i requested them to change. Spoiler 2 (Room) - musky smell from the toilet. Boiled hot water to wash away the foul smell.. did not work. sprayed essential oil in the room, did not work either. Last resort is to request for room change at night cos the hotel/ room too dusty and smelly. Spoiler 3 - The staff were not well trained, did not understand my issues after i explained to them. instead they offer a change of room (old design before renovation, furniture is old and toilet is not cleaned. in the end, they offer another renovated room with 2 single beds with no other options. Spoiler 4 - Given room 327 but the aircon has a clattering sound all night. Bad experience and unpleasant stay at Mercure Kuta. Very disappointed and will not come back Would suggest to provide staff training cos reception staff tried to argue back even when you provide feedback.
Hotel was under renovation during my stay. But they did their best to not disturb the guests. My room was upgraded overlooking the garden. Room was clean and breakfast was as nice as any other 3 stars hotel. The best of this hotel was the location. Across the street was the famous Kuta Beach itself, and walking distance to Poppies Lane shopping street and Beachwalk Shopping Mall. Staffs were all friendly and helpful and would love to stay here again in near future.
This hotel have a really nice staff. Nice pool with infinity pool, you can see the ocean and sunset here, good place. The room just standart with four stars facilities, nothing special. Starbucks is located beside this hotel. You have to walk around here, enjoy the kuta. Nice place.
The best thing i've liked from this Hotel is the location, right in front of the famous Kuta Beach. Less than 5min to Beachwalk mall, a lot of Reaturants an Foodcourt on the right side of the hotel. Pool facing to Beach .. Choose Deluxe ocean view room, you've got a room with balcony facing right to the Beach. They had koi fish pond at the loby area. The Restaurant in front of the Pool also facing to the Beach. Check in time at 2pm but they gave me before 2pm because i've brought my 2y old kid with me. Thank you.. One of my fav hotel at Bali with cute colour of amenities
Stayed here, and it was a nightmare. The room had no luggage rack, no dustbin and certainly didn't even have a table to put things. Tea things and an electric kettle rested on a round low side table of 18" in diameter! Requested for a dustbin and the hotel refused saying that it is hotel policy not to provide a dustbin or a luggage rack. so are we supposed dump rubbish on the floor. I suppose that would make the hotel happy. the shower area wasn't clean there were stains and suspicious looking grime on the sides. there was hardly any space to place toiletries at the wash basin. it was disgusting. To add to the INCONVENIENCE the hotel is undergoing renovation works. there was a notice to the room guests that renovation works will start at 10.00 am and stop at 6 pm. But hammering went on into the wee hours of the night till I complained to the front desk. Then the next night the hotel had something even worse. there were loud banging and knocking that was going on even into 6 am. Till I complained again to the front desk. But they didn't quite stop. the noise was so loud I spent a sleepless night. It was the worst experience ever. if that wasn't enough there was the sound of some machine being run, could have been vacuum, which went on around 4 am. the staff aren't friendly and were rather rude. when I asked for a dustbin for the room the manager on duty (male) was extremely unfriendly and ranted on 'hotel policy'. This hotel seem to have too many bad policies and no consideration for convenience. I would never walk into this hotel again.
We just checked in today and the experience was terrible. We have made a very simple request since a month ago and paid full in advance: to have two rooms with connecting door, and the management failed to meet this request. Instead of trying to find a solution, the staff at the receptions didn’t take the complain seriously and tried to put the blame on the travel agent, which is very shameful for a 4-star(?) hotel. Upon our complain, the staff seemed to refuse admitting their mistake of giving the requested room to other guest and kept telling made up reasons. Firstly they said the rooms were only available at superior (not deluxe as booked), then later they said the superior rooms with connecting room were being renovated and no longer avalaible. After that they claimed that we requested for two rooms with queen beds and therefore they ignore the connecting door request, which actually we never did so. Finally, they said that they have informed the agent of the unavailability of the requested rooms and that the agent failed to pass the information to us, which raised another question mark on their profesionalism in handling guest’s request. We were, at the end, had no option but to accept the connecting room later after the current guest check out later, which will be on April 30th, or only for the last night of our 3-night stay. The response of the staff was deeply disappointing and had ruined what otherwise was going to be a perfect family holiday. After so many stays in other hotels, this is the first time we are treated this way, with no offer for any compensation whatsoever. The management clearly needs to rethink of the way they trained their staff. If no response given after this review, this will be our first and last stay at this hotel. For guests planning to book this hotel through travel agent or third party applications, please think again and be very mindful when placing your booking. Sincerely, Guest at Room 417
