Lovely 2 bed villa with spacious bedrooms and open plan kitchen area. Decent breakfast offering included in our stay, comprehensive and large with the kitchen willing to tweak to your liking. Staff were attentive and grounds beautiful. Well kept place, private with wifi and good selection of TWG tea complimentary in the rooms. More on the area itself, Sanur doesn't have a great deal of restaurants that come recommended you would have to get a taxi to other areas. Overall we had a nice stay and could come back.
We love it here! It’s our second time in two years. The villas are really nice and spacious and we enjoy having much more space than a standard hotel room as well as our own pool. The pool size increases the bigger the villa and next time we are planning on upgrading to a two bedroom so we have even more space. It’s very peaceful and only a 5 minutes walk to a couple of bars and restaurants and then you can continue walking along the Main Street in Sanur for more restaurants, shops, couple of bars. We visited Seminyak as had seen all the photos online and heard it’s more upmarket than other areas of Bali. We left after two hours as was two dirty, hectic, noisey and not a patch on Sanur. We are 36 & 46 and enjoy nice food, wine and atmosphere - so Sanur wins hands down for us over Seminyak and certainly Legian and Kuda! The breakfast at Mahagiri is fantastic - so many options to choose from, from Balinese, Indonesian, American, English and there are at least 8 specials to choose from each day such as eggs Benedict, tortilla, BLT, breakfast salads etc etc. Can’t wait to come back!
The staff at Mahagiri Villas truly made a difference. We were picked up at the beach when we returned from Nusa Peninda and the driver brought us around to places we wanted to go in Sanur. The villa was big and we had a two-bedroom villa which was very spacious. The villa meets my expectations considering the various villas I had stayed in Bali. I will definitely consider Mahagiri when I return to Sanur.
This was the last stop our 2 week travels around Bali and we found it to be the most peaceful of all 3. We booked the villa as we were staying on our honeymoon and quite liked the idea of having our own pool, we stayed for 5 days but after a couple did get a bit bored. Sanur is more of quiet town compared to most other parts of Bali and there isn't too much going on around there. The staff at the hotel were lovely and the room was nice (some parts a little tatty), the only thing we found was the location was just a bit too far from anything happening. We had one of the hotel staff drive us to the 'beach club' one day and when we arrived, said beach club was just two sun beds in the middle of the beach and behind us we had heavy building works going on, we originally booked Sanur as it supposedly had some of the best beaches in Bali, not sure how it got this reputation as the beach and sea seemed quite dirty! The food at the hotel was lovely but no one ever goes to the restaurant so not much atmosphere. We ended doing day trips to other parts of Bali in the end. The night market is at the end of the road which is worth a visit but isn't very big. I think this hotel would be bets suited for large families with young children.
We had booked a 3-bedroom villa for our stay and we were very satisfied with it. Amazing mix of urbane feel with nature and ideally located. Plus a pick-up n drop service for nearby locations was very convenient. However, there were very few breakfast options for vegetarians. Even the bread was made with egg. Couldve added more options for vegetarians/ vegans/ egg-allergic people. Also the lighting in the villas is too dim. We couldn’t hang out much in the common area/ dining area of our villa in the evening due to poor lighting.
Travelled with friends who had stayed there before, so was fairly confident that the place was good. The visit was overshadowed by worries of the Mt. Agung volcano explosion, which thankfully never happened during our stay. Any hotel who needs a few lessons on customer service - please visit the Mahagiri. The staff truly give you a genuine welcome and it is a relief to see smiling faces instead of the usual fatigued city hotel employees. Remember, this is a place where you go to lose track of time and that you really do. We had a 3 room villa, each of which were huge and an even bigger living room. Loved the warm private pool and they even put up a temporary fence for the kids. We spent most of our time in the pool or eating in the living room. Lots of places nearby and I mean tons where you can eat out, not too far. Breakfast was also good, I liked their set combos. Tried out the local dishes, their plating is done well. The bathrooms are super clean and loved the outdoor shower. Only complaint I had was that the lock on the bathroom door didnt' work. I will go there again for sure!
We had a great stay in a 3-bedroom pool villa in December 2016. 3 adults, 3 children. Unfortunately, it's not a beachfront location. There is a shuttle but we liked to borrow the hotel's bike for a short ride to go to Sanur.
This was intended as an anniversary trip with my husband. The date of the flight my husband was not able to enter Bali because his passport was less than 6 months validity. Of course we absolutely panicked - tried to cancel the holiday and called this resort. Everyone was so wonderful and very calming. Next I sent a message to the Facebook page. I got in contact with someone very special, Clare. I'm sure I got her to look into and do many things that were not her job. She never once said that. She took all of my stress and set me at ease. She looked after everything from then on. Although I was not able to cancel the holiday for refund (I did not book directly with this resort but went through an internet service) I decided to come on my own - and wow I'm glad I did. All I can say is this is the greatest place I've ever stayed. Private pool, amazing villa, wonderful staff just like Clare. I've just had lobster for dinner! I would recommend this place any and every time. I intend to take my mother here when she comes to visit this year.
Their breakfast options are awesome but please try to Mahagiri style breakfast which give you a taste of local food. Their private section of the beach is awesome too. Free towels and pick up from and to the beach.
We had a 10 day stay in 101, the villas were great size and the staff were all so lovely!! Koming was a great help in the restaurant , he was a very sweet and sincere person. i had 6 massages mainly done by MEI, she is extremely professional and so great at massage , i just had to keep going back!
