MARA RIVER SAFARI LODGE at Bali Safari & Marine Park4.0 out of 5.0

It was a beautiful concept of having animals right outside your balcony and right beside the swimming pool. It was fun to see the zebras around and also they provided a small basket of carrots to feed the animals. All the elephants would go right outside our balcony. The Tsavo Lion Resturant is also a beautiful concept -- where Lions are right outside and you are practically eating beside the animals. The LIons sometimes come over to drink water from the tiny waterlet which is very close to the glass walls and its a lovely experience. Overall I like the whole concept of how they have built this place. The staff is very polite and courteous and we had a very pleasant experience. The park safari was also very nice -- the animals were very close during the safari in the van and at some places where the van went inside the water was very nice. Overall its a expensive place but this whole idea and experience would cost that much to maintain. We stayed one night and I personally felt it was good and just perfect.
We stayed at Mara River for one night in the Kifaru family room. The price we paid is including breakfast at Tsavo, elephant ride, Bali Agung show, Marine Waterpark, and entrance to the park and shows. The Kifaru room is really spacious, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We can see the zebras and rhino from our balcony, also can see the swimming pool. A bucket of carrot is also provided to feed the animals, however, we must throw it far away. The kids can't do it. Food in Tsavo is average and pricey. I expect more variety and quality of food for this price. I chose to go for a BBQ buffet dinner, and it was quite disappointing to me since I was expecting a freshly grilled meat from the BBQ, but it wasn't. Marine waterpark is clean and fun. When we got there in the afternoon, there was almost nobody, so that we can enjoy the waterpark on our own. The waterpark made the swimming pool close to our room feels normal. Nothing special about the pool except that we can see zebras closely while swimming. The park itself is enjoyable, kids are enjoying the shows and looking at the wild animals there. There is one restaurant called Uma in the park which offers various food with reasonable price. Unfortunately they are only open for lunch. One of the highlight during our stay is the elephant ride. As Kifaru room guest, we are entitled for elephant ride from (the swimming pool close to) our room to Tsavo restaurant for breakfast. It was quite a ride! The elephants will go inside the 'river' before we arrive at the restaurant. We think stay at Mara River is an experience a family should have once if they go to Bali.
We had booked a night stay at the hotel and although it is expensive compared to the normal Bali rates, you are paying for an experience We could see zebras and ostrich along with rhino from our balconies where we could feed them with carrots. The pool had a similar view The breakfast in the morning was at Tsavo Lion restaurant with a glass separating you from the King of the Jungle I recommend to stay here for a day with checking in the afternoon and doing a Night safari while catching up on the other shows during your check out date
My wife and I and 2 other couples spent 1 night and we loved every aspect. Drink on arrival BBQ dinner and then night safari. The bed was comfortable and the view amazing. The infinity pool with swim up bar then watching the animals graze was a highlight
Having been to the safari park a couple of times I thought we would do the night safari & stay overnight at the hotel on the property. Amazing rooms overlooking the safari reserve, semi outdoor bathroom, large bed with mosquito net. Beautiful pool that also overlooks the reserve. Night safari was a great experience. Would recommend to anyone especially if travelling with young children
3D2N package in Twiga room covered most of the activities. Park was clean, friendly helping staff, clear facilities signage. Only downside is restaurant serves same dishes everyday. Must try night safari, day tour.
We stayed in one of the rooms for 1 night, in comparison to other hotels in Bali this was expensive but you have to remember you are paying for an experience not a hotel. This is much more than just accommodation. The view is spectacular and it was so neat to sleep with the curtains open and 'Im sure there was one ostrich that looked in our window on watch all night. The elephants were brought passed the room on numerous occasions and you could see zebra, water buck and ostrich, there was also a Rhino but he was down the other end although we did get glimpse in the morning. The setting of being in a safari park was amazing and worth the price. The room itself was well equipped maybe getting a little run down but loved the way the room was set up so you could lie in bed and see the animals and had a real safari theme. The only thing that did let this hotel down (and it is an issue throughout bali and apparently one should cover the drains or poor vinegar in them) was the terrible smell from the drains/toilet in bathroom, this was so bad that the door had to stay shut and was terrible when you needed to use bathroom, I had to do makeup out in unit as couldn't stay in there to put make up on. In hindsight we should have said something but didn't like to complain. Other than that highly recommend
Sleep in the middle of the African Jungle ,feel the sensation, children love this hotel Boasting a lovely view of Mount Agung in the distance, the property is embraced by pristine nature and rare tranquility
3 days 2 nights with family and we had a blast. Twiga room which is on the second level has got the best view. You can literally toss a carrot (included in the room) and feed the animals. Quality of the rooms are good, fantastic view and entrance to the zoo is included as well. I would recommend this to anybody and we will be back when the marine park is opened.
We stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The rooms are a bit old and outdated, but at this hotel, it's all about the experience. Waking up with ostrich/zebra/wildebeest view is awesome! The pool is nice too, offering the same view as the rooms. The BBQ included with the night safari was okay, but the lunch at UMA was of extremely poor quality and the service was far below standard. The Front Office team, on the other hand, was very helpful and they seemed to know exactly what they were talking about. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the amazing experience.
