Hotel room is spacious, clean and the hotel staffs are friendly. When I checked in late, only disappointment is TV control run out of battery and it take a while for them to replace it. Breakfast need more variety on asian food.
This was my most disappointing stay in a hotel. Ever. (And according to Starwood, I've spent 300+ nights with them over the last 10 years.) Looking back at how this happened, I'm most perplexed at how so few reviews of this property mention the issues -- namely the smoke from the neighboring restaurants. While on a map, the hotel is between a Four Seasons and an Intercontinental, it is crucially directly behind a string of BBQ Seafood restaurants. From ~1pm onwards, the smoke generated from these restaurants wafts over and settles into the hotel. (Hotel management says it depends on the winds... but if the wind is coming off of the ocean, it's blowing right into the hotel.) By late afternoon, it is uncomfortable to be outside. We made it three days before leaving, and this was the case each day. Having a sundowner at the bar on the roof? (Aptly called "Smoqee.) Not something I would recommend. Despite keeping all doors closed and A/C running, the main room in our suite ALWAYS smelled like smoke. I asked if the hotel had an air purifier (they do not) -- they instead offered me a mosquito vaporizer to get rid of the smell. In the least, the hotel should have air purifiers and extra filters on their HVAC system. The smoke made us sick - headaches, itchy eyes, runny noses, frequent use of rescue inhalers - that all went away when we decamped to a different hotel. The property is also very run-down, and felt neglected. Only half of the walk-way on the 1st floor had been sealed to protect from rain; the ultimate effect just looked shoddy. The pool had missing/chipped tiles and wobbly railings. Pool towels were mismatched and ragged. We ate in the hotel restaurant for two nights; both times, we were the only people there. The ice cream stand, the sports bar, and the coffee stand were never open. Genuinely tried to get ice cream, and no one was there to serve us. While this might have been the "low" season, we were there over Easter weekend, and the hotel told us they were "sold out." It felt more like a ghost town. The rooms are huge and well decorated. The lagoon pool entrances are special. But we won't be back.
Rooms were nicely decorated and huge - it felt almost like a suite. We particularly enjoyed the pool access feature of the room. This is something that we didn't realise that we needed until we experienced it. It was really convenient having a dip throughout the day via our own private balcony. The bathroom was very spacious and beautiful. The bathtub was large and perfect for relaxing after swimming all day. The only downside was the breakfast which was pretty average compared to other resorts of similar size and price range.
We visited Bali during silent day (Balinese new year) weekend and were not allowed to step out of hotel premises for March 17. Le meridian hotel staff and services made sure we didn't get bored inside and we totally loved our stay there. We were upgraded to 'pool access' room because of spg membership and it was a beautiful room! Pool was clean and with optimum temperature. Do not miss the roof top of the hotel. The view from there is beautiful. Really good place for pictures! I ordered a cake just few hours before my husband's bday and the staff was so helpful in accommodating to my last minute request. The cake was delicious! We, being vegetarians, didn't have too many options in the menu but chef agreed to cook few customized items for us. The taste of the food is average and not something we loved and that can be improved, if possible please add more vegetarian options :) All in all it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Lucky enough to have poolside, or lagoon-side, rooms, the younger members of our party got straight in the water and had a fantastic time. To be honest some of the less young of our number got straight in as well, and loved it. In a great location near Jimbaran beach and its fish and seafood restaurants, Le Meridien has great decor, luxurious big rooms, and obliging staff who always smile. Breakfast is a highlight with its multiple options. On our last couple of trips to Bali we have headed straight for Le M to get the stiffness of long flights out of our bones and relaxxxxx........
We had too much noise having pool side suite and they were very accommodating in changing us to a more comfortable room of our liking. We stayed for a week and couldnt ask for a better stay. Many Thanks
My wife and I had a 1 night stay whilst catching up with friends. We booked the pool access room which was sensational, straight from your patio into the water. The room was spacious, a huge very comfortable bed, and an awesome bathroom, it was spotless, beautifully presented. The breakfast was excellent, lots of variety. It is out of the way from the hustle and bustle but there are a heap of local beachfront seafood restaurants right there. I would definitely stay here again. Duncan & Lisa Australia
I'm a professional traveler and I'm well acquainted with the standards accepted in intern.hotels chains, such as Le Meriden and others. I rarely read reviews about them, as I do not expect any surprises! This was my main mistake and here is a detailed warning, that would not spoil your holidays and not undermine your health !!!, which is very real in this hotel !! 1) The hotel is located just 10 meters from a huge number of restaurants (more than 30 restaurants) located on the beach. All these restaurants have their braziers, on which fish and meat are fried. They fry using a coconut shell, begin to fry about 12 by noon, and continue until late evening, with the peak from 16 to 21 hours. Because of this, the whole hotel stands in smoke, like a fire smoke and I'm not exaggerating at all !!!! It's true, you live like on a fire! I have asthma and becouse of this smoke I had to keep the inhaler with me every minute,to take action in the event of an attack! Although, any person will be extremely unpleasant and difficult to be in a strong smoke and breathe carbon dioxide. Especially considering, that you on vacation at the sea in an expensive hotel! As you understand, with this trouble the hotel can't do anything! In my case, the hotel suggested, that I move to another hotel, but its cost was more than twice, that I paid by Le Meridien Jimbaran, and I had to stay there. So, if you do not want to spend your holiday in a gas mask and prayers for the wind would blow in the opposite direction, because this is the only chance to avoid smoke of fire, then choose a different hotel and preferably in another part of the island, not in Jimbaran! 2) air conditioning in the room, apparently, due to the constant presence of the hotel in the zone of intense smoke, smells of smoke. That's, there is a smell of smoke in the room, as if someone is constantly smoking, but unlike the street, it's a chilled and damp smell of smoke. 3) The speed of the Internet connection is very bad! There is practically no Internet! I had to follow for Internet to the nearest Starbucks. 4) There are a lot of ants in the room . On the bed, in the closet, everywhere! We asked for daily treatment from ants, but even this didn't help. when we were settled in a room we saw a plate with sweets, it's compliment from the hotel, and it was full of ants. It was very disgusting! See the photo! 5) For the first time in my life, I saw that in check-inn time, the hotel forced you to sign a paper, that it is forbidden to bring any food, drinks, water, etc. to the hotel, and the hotel imposes a fine of US$ 200 for violating this rule. 6) A small breakfast, a small choice of food and fruit. 7) Because of problems with smoke, the hotel decided to close the roof Sky bar, so enjoying the sunset from the roof would not work either. If not for the above problems, the hotel would be very good. Cute, with a nice pool in the form of a lagoon, with a fitness center, everything is like in his brethren around the world. BUT the problems, that are at the hotel, nullify any positive points. Be vigilant and do not choose this hotel for your holidays! Never!!!
Great view from the room, clean room, big bathroom. Breakfast not much variety as you expect from Le Meridien, but delicious. The hotel didn’t have access to the beach, but it’s very near. I don’t have any complain, except the color is very dark and dull. It’s a little bit creepy when you walk alone at night
After staying in a private villa for three days on the north side of Bali, decided to go for the full service option. I have stayed in LM's all over the world, this one fell a little short. Location was not that good. My morning beach walk left me feeling as I was going to get cancer from all the burning wood and trash. The water looked pretty bad, I was not going in. On the brighter side, my room was amazing, large walk-in shower, large tub. Service was up to, if not exceeding my LM expectation. You call for more water, towels, whatever, very prompt. All staff on property was there to meet your every need.
