My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. It was amazing! The food was fantastic, the villa lovely and the surroundings utterly idyllic. However, the best part by far was the service. Nothing was too much for them and everything was done with a smile. It felt so homely and welcoming that I was genuinely sad to leave. After spending a few nights in Nusa Dua it was a total mistake to only stay at Komaneka for only 3 nights. I would recommend this place to everyone and hope to return one day!
We spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon here and we were gutted to leave! From the getgo we were made to feel extremely welcome, being given a tour of the complex before being shown to our villa. The villa itself was amazing, spacious, well appointed with a huge bed, huge bathroom and a stunning view of the forest below and our own private pool on the balcony. All the food at the hotel was amazing! Breakfast spreads were plentiful with a different menu everyday with about 4 choices of mains, and the lunches and evening meal menus were superb also. We ate in the hotel every day and it didn't disappoint. Particular food highlights were the crispy duck, and also the "romantic barbecue" meal which we were lucky enough to enjoy on our own (apart from dedicated waiter and chef on hand!) on the top floor of the restaurant under the stars. All food options on the menu are available to eat in the room at 20-30 mins notice at no additional charge depending on your board basis (we had half board which was well worth it). We had a 1hr massage each which was great and would definitely have again, so we can recommend the spa also. The best part about this place is the staff and the level of service. They really cannot do enough for you and you don't get the impression that your a burden to them like you do in other countries where ambivalent staff also expect good tips! Nothing like that here, service with a smile all the way. We had meals and cocktails delivered to the room, no problem; meals brought to us by the pool, no problem; cocktails brought to us in the main pool, no problem! The only negatives I can think of were the expensive spirits / liqueurs (110,000 IDR off memory for a very small scotch), though this probably to do with import duties and taxes etc, but if you plan ahead, you should pick up a bottle at the airport and this won't be a problem. Though the prices of the beer make up for it (about £2 for a minibar beer) Additionally on our final full day, we had to ask twice for the room to be serviced, but it was no great problem and it was sorted very apologetically in the end with no harm caused. We stayed here for 3 nights before moving onto Nusa Dua for 5 nights, in hindsight we wish we'd have done 3 nights in ND first, then spent 5 nights in Ubud at the Komaneka Tangayyuda (I think there's 4 Komanekas in Ubud) as it's so homely and welcoming and a lot less pretentious than ND with a nicer clientele. We will definitely look this place up in the future if we're to visit Bali again, I can't think of anywhere else in Ubud that I'd rather stay. Superb food, great accommodation, and wonderful service all at non pretentious prices. Thank you for a wonderful start to our honeymoon!
Everything is perfect. The room is very clean and nice. Staffs are very good and very friendly. They can suggest some sight-seeing spot which is very helpful. The location is very good as well as all the services provided.
My wife and I stayed in Komaneka for two nights as the first of three stops in Bali on our honeymoon. The hotel kindly arranged airport transfers for us (approx 1hr20m drive along Bali's interesting roads!!) and when we arrived at the hotel the staff were there to greet us with a cold towel, tea & gave us a short tour of the site which is beautiful. Our villa was fantastic! Spacious with three separate compartments - bedroom, dressing room with his & hers sinks and then bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers! The room was immaculate and comfortable. The private pool and deck were great, amazing views though the communal pool does get better sun & is equally as nice. The staff at Komaneka were beyond friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make your visit perfect - thank you to them all. We had a massage and the 'red light dinner' - would recommend both. The RLD was like something from a movie, the staff covered our pool in rose petals and candles and set dinner for two on the balcony. All in all we had a great stay and Komaneka was the perfect way to start our experience in Bali!
Great location, amazing view. After having a horrible fast boat trip from Gili to Bali, when we came to hotel, we thought that we had died and had come to heaven :) Service was amazing. Staff were very helpful and kind. Strongly recommended :)
Stayed there for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon in Bali in the valley pool villa, just beautiful. From the villa to the staff, everything was impeccable, wish we had stayed longer. The views are just breathtaking and the villas and faultless, from the massive bathroom with amazing tub to the day bed on the balcony. Nicest staff I have met, they can't help you enough, remembering your names throughout the stay and greeting you every time you leave or come back to the hotel. Couldn't recommend enough :)
Amazing hotel! We stayed here for 4 nights and did not want to leave. The service is incredible and all the staff are so friendly. My partner and I are both vegan and they had a personalised menu just for us! Special mention to Rudy at the restaurant. He looked after us from the very first night until we left. He organised for our breakfast to be ready at 6am even when the restaurant wasn't opened yet as it was too early. After breakfast we would come back to a clean room and a made bed! Thank you so much Komaneka. We will be back.
The best infinity pool I have ever seen with an amazing jungle view. Hotel is in a great location for many of the activites in the Ubud area. The food and drinks are of a good standard and fairly priced. The service by the staff is of a very high standard. The rooms are of a very high standard and very luxurious. Although the outside pool in our valley villa was nothing more than a water feature as it was covered by the upstairs rooms balcony so it was too cold to get into. Also the private pool of the villa above us woke us up in the morning as it was very noisy. Not the most well thought out design for the private villas although this might just apply to our room which was a groundfloor valley view by the main restaurant. Overall highly recommended but we felt a bit let down with the lack of view, the noise from the pool above us and the fact that our pool was covered by a balcony so got no heat from the sun.
Went a few years back for our honeymoon and it was heavenly. We choose this particular one as we wanted to be in Ubud- which is perfect for honeymoon/ quiet retreat / yoga retreat with little cultural villages dotted around the area to stroll. However if you want the more party hip scene than go south- having said that it's about 30-40 min car ride to say seminyak and we journeys a couple of times down for dinner so it's not that bad. Im sure now there's many more option for restaurants etc in Ubud. Love the room, the pool, outside tub and hospitality. Love how the staff is not intrusive- in fact we hardly see them hanging around but when we do need them they just appear..pretty much out of nowhere. What I'm trying to say is that it felt that we have our privacy within the grounds during the day without seeing staff in uniform with cleaning carts etc. However when we come back to the room, things got cleaned, deck outside tidied, and when I left our scarf at the pool a worker bought them back within mins to our room--we didn't even know they were around the pool! A bit freaky but what I do appreciate it when you don't visibly see them hang around it makes the atmosphere totally different - compare to a 6 star hotel in Maldives where as soon as we came out of the room we were created by a cleaning cart and crew hanging out of in front of door. We also remind it to friends for their honeymoon and they also had a wonderful time. All in all love it and can't wait to return again.
We came to Komaneka for 5 days of our honeymoon and it was by far our favourite place! To make this review easier to read I'm going to list pros and cons. Pros: -welcoming and friendly staff, not just when you arrive but every time you leave and come back each day you are always met with a warm welcome. - gorgeous, well maintained pools. - lovely food and service at the hotel restaurant. - beautiful villa with great amenities. - useful shuttle into the centre of Ubud. Cons: -none, I honestly don't have any as I loved this place far too much! Just need an excuse to go back now. Thank you to all of the staff for making our honeymoon so wonderful.
