This hotel was paradise for my wife and I as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. As seasoned travelers, my wife and I sometimes want to be left alone, but other times want the luxury and service that comes with a larger resort. The Belmond Jimbaran Puri provided us with everything we wanted. The service here is second only to the location of the hotel. The people are extremely friendly and very helpful. They are genuinely engaged in making your stay the best it can be. Upon arrival, a porter took our bags and disappeared while we toured the front area of the hotel. A reception clerk prepared our check in documents while someone else gave us a cold towel and a drink. Then the manager, Charles, came out and personally greeted us. We seriously felt like we were the only guests in the entire hotel that day! We booked a one-bedroom deluxe private pool villa, so our butler came and escorted us to the room in golf cart, which to be perfectly honest, I could have done without - after nearly 24 hours of travel from the US, I would rather have walked to stretch out the legs. But regardless, it was a nice treatment. He toured the room, gave us our key and left us alone. The room was amazing. The grounds had a gazebo, loungers in the sun, AND loungers in the shade, a private pool, and fountains. The room had separate lounging, eating, sleeping, and bathing areas. The bathroom had an indoor and an outdoor shower, as well as a large stone tub. The shower had strong water pressure with a rain-fall head, and a handheld shower. There's also a safe that's easy to program for your money and passports. The room was equipped with plenty of free bottled drinking water, a nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, daily fruit, toiletries, and even insect repellant. The towels were thick and fluffy. The bed was comfortable, but is not a traditional one with springs, so the padding would bunch up in certain areas. Personally, i liked it, but my wife felt it was a little too firm. Her favorite thing to do was to lay on the couch in the lounge area and rest there. Plenty of room to do what you want. The butler offered us afternoon tea each day which came with light snacks and tea of your choice between 3 and 5 pm. Each night the butler would "turn down" the room and would include a light snack and tea for the evening. He would also fix the bed, and close all the shades. We LOVED the service!!!! Every time we left the room, there seemed to be a butler waiting for us outside to see if we needed anything at all. Not obtrusive at all, but friendly and helpful. The beach is the gem here. My wife and I walked the entire length of the beach in Jimbaran bay and Belmond has the BEST stretch, hands down. Better than all the other higher-priced resorts. The sand is fine and clean. The waves are slight, and the people are not crowded. There are NO solicitors or Hawkers to bother you. There are plenty of shaded loungers with bar service and even beach-side massage. We walked to the other areas and other areas have rocky beaches, or lots of garbage, or lots of people, or lots of sellers. Belmond has the best part of the beach! The breakfast, which was included each day, was very good! It is described as continental, but it's a full breakfast! Each day there was a hot food spread with sausage, bacon, baked beans, sauteed vegetables, Balinese specialty like Nasi Goreng (fried rice), and soup. There's also a cold food area with sliced meat like prosciutto, bresaola, cold cuts, etc. There's also cereal, meusli, yogurt. There's juice like orange, pineapple, guava, etc. and milk, and water. There's also a big display of tropical fruit like passionfruit, dragonfruit, papaya, pineapple, etc. I would take some oranges or bananas to much on in the room. There's also plenty of breads like croissants, baguettes, danish, muffins, etc with lots of spreads and jams. They also offer you made-to-order eggs, and pancakes or french toast. They offer coffee, tea, espresso drinks like lattes and cappuchinos. All included! My wife is a very picky eater and breakfast was her favorite meal each day at the Belmond! We ate at the restaurants (nelayan and tunjung) several times. The food is really good, but compared to the beach warungs, very expensive. This is to be expected though. I will say that the salads are good, but too much dressing for my taste, so ask for it on the side and you're good. We went to the spa two times, both for traditional balinese massage. They ask you a lot of questions to make sure your experience is good. my advice is speak up and be honest! Traditional balinese massage is deep, long strokes so be honest when they ask you what level pressure you want. My wife asked for "soft to normal" and i asked for "normal" and normal is very deep! I loved it, but i think if you're a smaller person, it might be too much. The massage therapists would ask me often how the pressure is, so they are very concerned about making it a good experience. The crash of the waves is very nice as you're right on the beach. Be aware though, that the spa room has three walls and one side is open. so if you're shy, wear your clothing appropriately. I usually go naked, so they give you a pair of disposable underwear, but even then, I felt a little exposed at times and I could hear people walking and talking around the open side. I didn't really care, but again if you're shy, maybe wear more clothing. the location of the belmond is perfect when it comes to eating at the beach warungs. about a 5 minute walk on the beach north there are maybe a dozen warungs to eat at. most of them are seafood only, but some have good satay choices. if you walk south along the beach, maybe about 15 minutes, there are more warungs. When it came time to check out, they asked me if I had a car picking me up and I said yes. When my hired driver (Baliku Travel) didn't show up, the Belmond staff got worried that I would be late for the airport and started calling around to make sure we had a ride. I got a hold of my driver and belmond staff helped me talk to him to figure out what happened. They were really helpful in getting me a ride, and they came to my rescue! Bottom line - this hotel is all about quiet, luxury, and service. The entire time, I felt like i was royalty. it was very relaxing, and the room was amazing. I spent time in my private pool every morning and every night, then went to the beach in the afternoon. Best experience!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Belmond for one night at the end of our two week holiday and we were so sad that we couldn't stay longer! We stayed in the deluxe private pool villa which was stunning - huge pool with fountains, sun loungers and a large sofa/pagoda outside, a large living room, lovely double sink bathroom and outside shower, and absolutely huge canopy bed. Beyond the villa, there is a beautiful pool and a couple of gorgeous bars and restaurants which overlook the beach. The food and drink were great - lots of variety - and exceptionally good service, probably the best we had during our two week stay. Just wish we'd had time to try the spa! Definitely recommend, and particularly if you're looking for something relatively close the airport near the start or end of a holiday....a perfect end to our holiday.
This is a very nice property with very friendly staff. It is a great place to wind down. In our case after 8 days of intense travel a welcome pace before heading back to our daily lives. Looking forward to a return visit next year of a longer stay!
We stayed here for our first 3 nights in Bali. We have no complaints about this hotel as we enjoyed our stay very much. However we could not give 5 stars simply because of some of the other resorts we stayed at (which were much more expensive) but had slightly nicer accommodations and better food. The staff here is very nice. Everyone wants to help you. They booked a private car for us for a day trip to Ubud which was extremely reasonably priced and very nice and again extremely accommodating. The free breakfast buffet is nice. All typical things you would expect. Really nice chocolate croissants typical bacon / sausage and some Indonesian food. As well as fresh fruit and cereal. In addition you can choice 1 egg dish for the kitchen to prepare for you. Breakfast was nice because it was free, but i would have been upset if i actually had to pay for it... It was OK. Otherwise the lunch and dinner we had was OK as well. the beach is beautiful. The pool is really nice. The bar on the beach is nice. Everyone working at this hotel is there to help you. Everyone wants you to have a good time. Happy hour 1/2 priced drinks before sunset is nice too. We stayed at a beach view pool villa. It was nice since we were jet lagged and just wanted to be left alone. We never had to leave our room / private pool. We had some minor maintenance issues, and they were immediately addressed. Again every employee very accommodating and respectful of the guests. Finally the massages at the SPA were the BEST! We booked Balinese massages before we got there, for our first night. They were so reasonably priced, and they were awesome. Worked out all the issues from the 22 hours of travel. I enjoyed it so much that i got another one the next day! i went running through the city in the morning at 6am. The farmers market was on, it was a learning experience. Enjoyed every minute here.
Nicely laid out resort in extensive grounds and on a very clean golden sand beach. Well tended gardens. Clean and well designed fresh water pool by the bar. 2 great restaurants and a friendly bar. Our garden chalet well decorated, scrupulously clean and comfy furnishings. (We saw inside a villa with private pool - even more luxurious!) Friendly staff and well priced food and drinks (local cuisine and international cusine). Top quality buffet breakfast. For us a 3 day stay that we wished was much longer!
The service was impeccable and exceeded our expectations from the moment we were greeted arriving at Belmond. Every staff that had an interaction with us remembers us by first name and remembers conversations we've had with them prior. Very personalised service. Most importantly every key staff there LISTENS, which is so rare in service these days. We had indicated some preferences on our Agoda booking and Belmond addressed it when we were checked in. I haven't seen many hotels do that and especially when we weren't 'members' to begin with, but was treated like we were VIPs. I've had pretty bad mosquito bites during the first night (its just me, im a mozzie magnet, nothing wrong with the villa, my partner had 0 bites). We requested for extra electric repellents and returned to a room with not 1 but 4 more repellents plugged into every socket they could find! I slept very well that night. Breakfast was impressionable as one of the staff Ladra attended to our table closely and peppered the beautiful morning with interesting conversations about local fruits and coffee. Every staff, from the cleaners to the grounds staff, restaurant, conceige, front desk injects warmth into your day with their greetings and smiles. We loved the resort grounds, with the very decent size/depth pool, plenty of beach lounge chairs, and it being next door to two of the best restaurants in Jimbaran ( Kayumanis & Cuca), but the service at Belmond will always be the reason for a return trip. Thank you Belmond for making our stay memorable!
This was the perfect place to start our honeymoon! An easy ride from the airport, but felt like a world away, we settled right in to the beautiful beachfront hotel with ease! The staff were lovely and treated us to some fun little perks like beachside cocktails, some small handwoven gifts, and a very nice room upgrade. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast was the absolute best hotel breakfast either of us has ever had! Prices for beachside cafe were steep, but I guess that's to be expected at such a high-end hotel. One thing we really loved about this spot was the location. Well away from the hustle and bustle of some other parts of the area, we were able to stroll quiet streets, visit a local market, and watch day-to-day life happening all around us just outside of the hotel gates. The only issue we had was after a torrential storm, the pipes in our bathroom started to back up a bit. No surprise after such a major, hours-long downpour, however, the casual attitude to apparent sewage that ended up in our tub was a little surprising. Ultimately, no big deal. Amazing hotel and it would be a dream to visit again!
Our reception was impactful and the personal treatment and introduction into the details of the resort was overwhelming. Our cottage was excellent with a beach view. Relaxing on the beach is excellent and the service is friendly and adequate. There are two restaurants. Both a la carte, but in the main restaurant you can choose from a buffet. The quality of the food in general is OK. I've mostly enjoyed the breakfast dish, because of the possibilty of Balinese authentic food. Our return flight was in the afternoon and we were offered a nice house to have a quick shower and refresh our cloths.
Very relaxed, great breakfast, nice staff and great location. The food is good rather than great at the neylan resto - but great for lunch and wonderful to have feet in the sand while dining, The bar on the beach is also lovely. My husband had a bad nasi goring at the Indonesian resto (spellcheck just changed it to incorrect spelling!!), so that was a bit odd. Rooms are good, we liked ours a lot although you can tell its old and the wooden shutters are a bit odd - esp as the door obstructs the wardrobe(?) weird. also weird there are no towel hangers in the bathroom and no clothes horse or line in the courtyard so nowhere to dry wet clothes or swimwear in a beach resort? odd
This resort ticked most boxes - boutique, quiet, excellent swimming, good food and wine. It also happens to be the best spot in Bali for sunsets. Just pull up a chair, order a cocktail and enjoy the show! Belmond is not cheap but delivers on quality and small issues were dealt with quickly and without fuss by management. Our only disappointment was the massage which didn't measure up to similar experiences elsewhere. Great for couples.
