Firstly it is a very nice resort with lots of activities to do. I don't have any complaints about the rooms or any aspect of the resort except few which really irked me. Firstly is the behaviour of a old man regarding the pool card, threatening to charge me with $12 if I don't return the card which I mistakenly left in the pool counter. Eventually I did return it. Secondly when I asked for 2 extra plates and some spoons for my food they said they will charge for it. I don't know where in the world a resort can charge for cutlery for food bought from their own restaurant. This is pretty sick. I found the behaviour of the staff a little cold. I stayed at Rama in kuta but didn't feel such. Food is overpriced!! I enjoyed the resort but not the hospitality. I never write reviews much but some of their behaviour were really unimpressive.
We completed our 14th stay at Bali Tropic in September and we refer to it as our second home. The excellent Staff continue to offer great service and always have a pleasant smile and make you feel very welcome. The rooms as usual were perfect and were very clean .Meals continue to offer a lot of options and the menu continues to change daily.I would recommend this Hotel to every one and the All inclusive option is great and gives you a very relaxing Holiday.
We stayed only 1 night and have to be honest and say , room was clean and nice , bed was creaky but comfortable. The food in all restaurants really let the place down , my husband had the ribs which were all fat and my burger had to go back as it was raw ! . The pool bar was filthy and needed updates and a good clean ! . Staff were nice . The main thing which was unpleasant was the amount of mosquitoes everywhere!!!!! I believe this is due to the rubbish tip next door . We had to leave dinner due to being eaten by mozzies . The food and drinks don't include tax with the price so be cautious. We come to Bali every year since 2000 and won't be back here at Bali tropic
The ambiance of this resort is very nice and relaxing, drinks and moist face towels on arrival helped with this. The resort grounds were very attractive and featured a very beautiful temple (see photos). The pool area was also really nice with a sunken pool bar (although the drinks were moderately expensive (around $10 AUD per cocktail, which is probably to be expected at a resort, but still quite expensive for Bali). The only issue with the pool is that most guests would hire their pool towels before breakfast and use it to drape over a sun lounge (pool seat) which would reserve it for them for the entire day even if they never showed up to use it. This meant that usually all the seats used to sunbathe (about 50 of them) were already taken very early, even though there might only be a few people actually at the pool. The staff here didn't enforce any rules regarding this so it made finding a place to sunbathe very difficult every day. The beach area itself was very nice, (but there was the same situation as the pool area where people placed their towels on the sun lounges and reserved them all day), the ocean water wasn't great for swimming as it was in a very shallow bay where there might only be one or two feet of water at most times during the day. Also, a few times as we were trying to relax on the beach, there were very noisy volleyball games which started up with lots of random guys yelling which really destroyed the relaxing atmosphere of the beach area. I was really hoping for a room with a view but we received a ground floor room that only had a view of the back of another room, and unfortunately it was right next to the maintenance area so there was always lots of loud noises and banging due to maintenance people shouting at each other and repairing things. The room also wasn't very big and there was no door between the bedroom and the bathroom which meant that if you were sitting in the bedroom watching TV you could see everything happening in the bathroom. This might be fine for some people, but sometimes it's just nice to have some privacy which this room didn't offer. The TV in the room was small, had a broken speaker and also had a very bad signal. Also the wifi was very slow. There's a small gym at the resort which is free and quite good, but if there's more than 4 people there it feels very crowded. The restaurants are quite good here and reasonable priced. We ate at the Ratna Restaurant which overlooked the main beach area. It was quite reasonable priced, the seafood selection was good and you can use the 20% discount voucher that you receive upon arrival. Also the Soka restaurant was fairly good and also overlooked the beach area but the food was not quite as good as that of the Ratna Restaurant. The buffet breakfasts were very decent with a very wide selection of foods but unfortunately on a few occasions the waiter who seated us "double booked" our table which meant that when we got up from out seats to get our buffet breakfast, we returned to find that he had seated other guests at our table. This happened a few times and was very annoying. Finally, if you feel like going for a walk, go out past the pool towards the beach and head south for a very nice walking tour past some very expensive resorts. (You can also walk to the North but the view isn't as good).
Loved our return visit, the staff are extremely friendly, helpful & remember you by name. The rooms are large, beautifully set out, clean with big bathrooms. We love the Balinese style & feel of this hotel, the room entrances are very ornate with beautifully carved doors. Pros - The large clean rooms, the beach, the beautiful gardens, the all inclusive option, the buffet breakfast, very social pool & pool bar. Cons - Non Really looking forward to our next visit.
We love this hotel! Of 4 trips to Bali, 3 have been at The Bali Tropic. The other was at The Melia and we seriously regretted trying a different hotel. On that particular holiday, we walked from the Melia to the Bali Tropic to say hello to the staff and have lunch. The staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and that you are happy. Problems or faults are sorted promptly. The hotel grounds are immaculate and we love the tradtional Balinese styling of property. We have always stayed in the Deluxe Bungalow rooms. The breakfasts are divine, there is a lot of variety and the new enclosed area in the Soka restaurant was a great idea. We have eaten at all three restaurants, Soka, Cempaka and Ratna and the food has always been great. We're looking forward to our next trip and seeing all our favourite staff members: Rahayu, Budiari, Sadam, Karini, Sinta, Yuli, Parmini, the bar staff: Dode, Widiana, Gana, Mudiantara, Putra, Gus Ade, Andrew (Dodi), Tom (Cruise) and our most favourite, Andi. (ps: there are a couple of names missing). See you all again soon. :)

This hotel is like coming home everytime we get here it's nice to meet up with old friends some who work here and some who are guests. The staff always like to talk to practice their selection of language's . We made a new friend's this year young Della who seems to have boundless energy, also the new young staff trainees. We love this little piece of heaven and we would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone it combines old world charm with a more modern Bali.
My wife and I stayed for 8 nights in April and loved all aspex of the Bali Tropic, We are now returning for another 8 nights in December with the family. Looking forward to catching up with the staff at the pool bar. There is a supermarket across the road along with a money changer and a small market just to the left. We enjoyed our first stay and would recommend the daily breakfast with fresh pancakes and great egg station. See you Bali Tropic in December
We came here as a family of three (baby 18months old) and have to say we had the most incredible stay here. We had the royal room facing the pool and beach (room 1007) and it was fantastic esp with a child. So convenient for when we needed a swim or went to the beach and needed to nip back in to get her changed or showered. This hotel is very child friendly with many ramps and the children’s play area to the friendly staff. Any time we called reception for any matter they were there within minutes of making a call. Our room was central to everything so got to watch many evening shows put on by the hotel. The temple again was on our doorstep so we got to witness the Balinese customs and religion first hand. We had food in the hotels restaurants many times from Breakfast to dinner and never had a complaint the food was amazing. Very conveniently the hotel is opposite a brilliant little supermarket which literally has everything in it. All in all we had the most amazing trip ever and it was definitely worth travelling all the way from Manchester England with a one and a half year old baby. Would recommend bali and this resort to everyone
