Very good service in room, restaurants and bars. And if you enter the entrance all the noise from the streets is gone. A perfect place to enjoy the holidays. The beach is only a few minutes to walk and make best fun early in the morning.
The first hotel we stayed in was the Ananta Legian, it has a lovely atrium on entrance and each and every staff are fantastic, BUT you think that they could/ should have notified us that they would be doing work on the building... I am all for places keeping up to date Well we intended to relax, but we were a few days in and we realised that we had brought an unwelcome guest..!!, THAT awful Melbourne flu that was going around and we thought we had missed it. Anyway that knocked us about for approximately five days. The local store owners that we had been saying hi to daily as we passed wanted to send a Doctor that they all trusted to our Hotel room. ( how caring was that ). They said that we looked shockingly unwell. But we knew what we had so we just drank lots of warm lemon and honey tea and ate as much as we could which was not a lot. We did 2 things we have never down anywhere before . We did a Silversmith course in Ubud which was such a great experience. We were taught by Ketut and he even allows you to look at his jewellery and copy.
My husband and I stayed at The Ananta from 13th October 2017 for eight nights, the customer service in all areas of the hotel was excellent. We had included breakfast which was buffet style - all the basics including eggs cooked the way you like them. The rooms are compact with a safe and tea/coffee making facilities. Not a lot of wardrobe and drawer spaces but the bathroom is of medium size with walk in shower. We stayed on the 3rd floor, lifts are fast and everywhere in this hotel is clean. No balconies but nice poolside and rooftop bar option as well. Airport transfer is $25 AUD equivalent and hotel can arrange.
Fast check in and out at reception. Room is smaller in size but just nice for 2ppl; no more room for extra bed; aircon take about 20 min to cool the room. Massage is quite cheap at USD30. About 500m to Kuta Beach. Breakfast varieties is ok with freshly cook omelette. Location is very good.
This little hotel is very appealing from the entrance, after that it becomes very unappealing. The room is fine and its clean. Aircond works great with very little noise. The pillows are horrendous and bed a little firm. The vibration from the refrigerators in the bar area came through the floor of our room along with the noise. We paid for a pool access room as there are no balconies to enjoy. We tried to enjoy our celebratory Champ's but we're very firmly told no unless we pay $75.aud cockage! We asked for a plastic pool glass which he was giving to others, we asked and the bar person was extremely rude "I've told you no already, go away" We basically said, you get stuffed turned our day bed around facing our door way with our back to them and drank it anyway. The breakfast was worse than boring and extremely unappealing, no ambiance at all. This is apparently a four star hotel. It doesn't even come close. If I wasn't staying with others we would have checked out. There are so many great reasonably priced hotels in Bali and you do get what you pay for, we didn't get what the pretty pictures advertised. I wouldn't stay in this place if you paid me.
this is the type of hotel that you never come back again for, rooms are small plus they treat guests like if you gonna steal something with all the warning letters in the bed as you enter the room where it have very little lighting, breakfast is very normal i rather eat out than have inhouse breakfast.
This was our 3rd trip to Bali and after a couple of days at Ubud in a very nice villa, we transferred to Ananta Legian for the last week. The location is good (for restaurants etc) however it was a 10 minute walk to the beach (along broken and missing footpaths which is normal for Bali) Reception staff were friendly and efficient and our room was ready even though we were a little early for scheduled check-in. First impressions were that this was a relatively modern hotel and the pool and fish-pond were visible from reception. The first thing we both noticed was the heavy layers of algae on the large water feature and in the fish pond. Not a good start! Our room was of average size and quality, modern and clean and overlooked the pool and wet-bar. The bathroom was smallish and disappointing due to the obvious mould in the shower which was not attended to throughout our stay even though the room was cleaned every day. WIFI was pathetic! In this day and age, it is not (in our opinion) acceptable to have to sign in to the WIFI every time you pick up your device (especially if you only used it 2 minutes ago and put it down then picked it back up again.) It was also the most unreliable WIFI we have experienced in a hotel (including many other Asian countries we have visited) for many years and we had to make multiple calls to reception to have the WIFI restarted. The staff at the pool bar were not very friendly and we felt as though we were imposing whenever we asked for a drink (I think we only had two drinks at the pool bar for the whole week which is very unlike us...). Swimming up to the bar one day, we were reprimanded for splashing 'There are electronics behind the bar you know!' The hotel advertised a "happy hour" special for sunset (available at the rooftop bar ONLY - 3 cocktails for the price of 2)) which we took advantage of on only one occasion as it took almost 1/2 hour to get a drink (and one of the drinks on the menu had to be made downstairs and brought up). There were only 2 other couples at the bar at the time so no excuses! Half way through our stay we enquired about late checkout (our flight was not scheduled to leave until 10pm so we wanted to be able to make the most of our last day). Even though the hotel was only at about 10% capacity, it took all day to get confirmation that late checkout was available (at 1/2 of the cost of the normal daily rate). Part of the rooftop area was under re-construction during our stay and one night we were awakened in the very early hours by heavy-duty construction works shaking the building. (We thought the Volcano was erupting). Not good enough - if you want to do renovations/construction work, don't have paying guests! Breakfast - Having travelled a lot in many Asian and other countries we were disappointed in the lack of variety at Breakfast. Every second day only a couple of items were changed and then changed back the next day and during the week it became quite boring. The 'pancakes' were the worst we have ever had (we think they were reheated in the microwave as they were crunchy and tough). We would suggest that the hotel does what other resorts/hotels do when occupancy rates are low - small buffet with basics available and the remainder a-la-carte. Otherwise, the coffee was great and compliments to the serving staff in the breakfast room as they were very pleasant and friendly. Would not stay there again.
One of the hotels that we stayed at when we were at Bali was Ananta Hotel. It was a four stars hotel located in Legian, and the beach was only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. When our car entered the hotel area, the most impressive thing that we first saw was the lobby of the hotel that looks similar to the letter 'A'. From far away it'd look like a delicate lace was put together to cover the entire lobby gate, but on closer look, the carved details actually showcased three of Balinese sacred symbols (Patra Sari), which are Padma (holiness), Cupu Manik (life) and Karang (earth). The lobby was spacious, and the staff welcomed us with refreshing drinks as we went over the check-in details. Our non-smoking Deluxe Pool Access Room was connected to the outdoor pool. At night Hubby and I usually relaxed on the sun chair lounge and had a relaxing chat about our day. The pool bar opens from 10 AM to 8 PM. There's a mini-mart across the road from the hotel if you want to buy more drinks. The hotel also offers 24 hours room service. The breakfast buffet was prepared every day at Amertha Restaurant, and the restaurant opens early at 6:30 AM. We had a delicious breakfast there. There were options for western as well as Indonesian dishes. Around the corner from the restaurant, there was an Internet Corner with 24 access available daily as well as Wi-Fi for all guests. We didn't get to visit the Ambara Rooftop Lounge since it opens from 3 to 9 PM and we were out for most of the days. On our last day, we went to the rooftops to see the cosy set up, and we were informed that by the late October they will change the triangle shape of the lounge to a rectangular one. Our stay at Ananta was terrific. Each staff was amiable and helpful. I remember one guy that dropped off our laundry. He gave us extra water bottles and even gave us some chocolates. The room price at Ananta was very reasonable especially if you're looking for something better than the budget hotel.
Nice hotel, close to the beach and shopping street. Good breakfast, helpfull staff and the pool is great because of the nice pool bar! Maybe not that close to the Seminyak bar street but easy to reach by taxi (Around 20.000 idr but more expensive on the wat back)
Lovely from the moment we arrived. On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks and shown to the room. We decided the catch the end of the happy hour on the rooftop bar (70k during happy hour). The only thing is it's not very well lit up there and there and it's quite sparse of seating etc... but there are renovations undergoing and model pics looked like it would be much better at a later date. The renovations were going on in the day time but didn't cause any disturbance or loud noise. We stayed in block #3 and the rooms were very nice and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Cleanliness was superb and the cleaning staff were lovely. The only thing I would say is try and ask for a poolside room.. just an added bonus really. The pool is good to swim in and relax by with its swim up bar however due to the structure of the building the sun is lost fairly early. But the beach isn't far away. The location is brilliant right by Double Six. Seminyak Square is also walkable. Breakfast is good. The staff here are also very friendly and more than happy to help if you need anything.
