This was our second trip to Bali and first to Nusa Dua area. We stayed 5 nights at Amarterra and got a good package deal including breakfast, 2 dinners and a massage. Rai at check in was wonderful and very welcoming when we arrived and helped us greatly when we were not happy with the first villa we were allocated (maintenance work in next villa casuing noise) he showed me two other villas on other side and we chose Lily 2. The villa was as expected, spacious with a nice large private pool. Very clean inside and out and we appreciated the complimentary mini bar drinks and snacks. I loved the outdoor living area but the mosquitoes were awful. We couldnt stay outside too long and this reduced our enjoyment of the villa. We were there November and i would not go back at that time of year (wet season) due to mosquitos. I had over 50 bites on me when i go home 6 days later even though i used repellant. I have heard that all of nusa dua has this problem due to amount of open waters in the compound. We stayed a week in Ubud prior and insects were not as bad. Amarterra fog the resort regularly but i didnt find this helped. The breakfasts were great, a la carte and you could order as much as you want. Food was beautiful and fresh and great service. We chose to dine in the restaurant for breakfast but you could also take it in your villa. The resort is not close to the beach and its a 5-10 min walk, down an unappealing road. I enjoy the beach so this was a bit of a negative for me. But once you get there is a lovely clean beach with ample sand. Again service at beach was great in the Amarterra allocated lounges area and we were offered water and umbrellas. We had a balinese massage at the Amarterra spa and it was very good. We had two dinners at the restaurant and the food was excellent. A bit pricey but if you have an Accor cards its 50% disc. We also enjoyed the nightly happy hour drinks( great cocktails) at the restaurant, again with exceptional staff service and we loved the complimentry nibbles/snacks provided. If you wish to dine out i highly recommend Mr Bobs rsstaurant. The ribs are fantastic! Nice cocktails too. In all we enjoyed our stay, but were not keen on Nusa Dua as a whole and although the viila was lovely there were just too many mosquitoes there and we felt a bit confined to the aircon bedroom in evenings. I feel Amarterra is also overpriced for what you get considering there are so many villas in Bali. But you can get a good deal as an Accor member. The staff and customer service is excellent. We personally wouldnt return to this hotel, but give it 4 out of 5 anyway as if you can afford the room rate and like Nusa Dua (and mosquitoes), its overall good place.
We recently spent 6 nights at Amarterra villas for our honeymoon and what a place! From check in to checkout we were treated so well. The Staff are exceptional and always greeting with a smile, no matter what time of the day it is. The villa is probably one of the best villas I have stayed in. Clean, modern and very spacious. The private pool is huge and the outside sitting area is even bigger! I opted in for the private poolside dinner which was a surprise for my wife and everything was set up so beautifully well. The 5 course meal was very tasty, serving one of the best lamb chops I have ever had. The free bikes they have available are a great way to go exploring in Nusa Dua. Thank you everyone at Amarterra Villas for making our stay special.
We stayed in this resort for 6 nights with 2 teenagers. Loved every minute of our stay. The resort is located perfectly. It is 5 minutes walk to the beach, where they have their own sun lounges with towel service and cold water service and Bali collection outdoor mall that gives you options for something to do in he evenings or in the afternoon. It has massage places shops and restaurants. The hotel will provide a private free shuttle to both places. Our villa needed few things to be fixed and the minute we let the manager know, everything was done immediately. The grounds are in perfect condition. The restaurant on premises serves excellent food. What makes this resort stand out is their staff. We’ve been in many resorts around the world but Staff in Amarterra Villas are in the league of their own. One word of advice- let them know right away if something is not to your satisfaction. It will be dealt with in an instant. They are open to feedback and will do everything to make your stay 5 star.
This location came to us through Luxury Escapes and did not disappoint. The villas were excellent with wonderful outdoor area and pool. The staff were sensational and could not do enough for us. The restaurant was very good with a wide variety on the menu and service and food quality was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
We spent a couple of days and were happy to be there. The hotel has outstanding villas with private pool and common areas. The location of the villa is very close to Nusa Dua beach. There are many squirrels in the area. The rooms are modern and clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom area is enormous, clean and well kept. The staff is always willing to assist. However, they forgot about our romantic dinner booked in advance.
We stayed for one day. But the experience is amazing. We stayed in a 1 room villa and it’s gorgeous. With its Balinese design. A big pool. (Big pool for a villa) the service as well is amazing. We ordered room service most of the time. And the service and food is great. Would always come in the right time when I prefer a specific time of the day. Would be nice if they had a buffet. It’s location is really nice, in a quiet place in Nusa Dua. And just a walking distance to Bali collection and the Beach. Overall stay memorable.
After having stayed at several of the large, sprawling 5 star hotels in Nusa Dua that are a magnate for busloads of tour groups where we felt like the only Europeans on the property, we instead, opted for a more serene and private experience, which is what Amarterra offers. The spacious and luxurious villas with thatched roofs, laid out in the traditional Balinese style, with outdoor living and dining pavilions and large private swimming pools (not just for dipping) ensconce you in your own private world where you can deeply relax, let your hair own and unwind. The enclosed bedroom has an excellent,( tho a bit firm), super king bed. And the marbled bathroom areas are luxurious and elegantly traditional with every amenity you could wish for. As this is a small boutique property dedicated to discreet luxury and privacy there is only one restaurant, which has an excellent multi-national menu to suit most people's taste. But what makes this place so extraordinary is the staff--friendly to a person where their smiles reach their eyes. They pride themselves on knowing your name and remembering what you have ordered previously for breakfast, so as soon as you wander into the restaurant pavilion, they are softly enquiring if you would like your coconut cappuccino and gluten free bread with breakfast. They will freshly press your juice and everything is made to order. (unlike the massive, loud buffets in the other 5 star hotels with people jostling for food). I travel 44 weeks in a year and honestly this is the most outstanding staff I have yet experienced in the 48 countries I work in. Warm, friendly service where nothing is too much and they will go out of their way to ensure you feel your every need is catered for. Throughout the resort people will stop to greet you without an ounce of phoney sycophancy. A very personal but un-intrusive style of service which strikes exactly the right balance of friendliness without being overly familiar. Meals tend to be a quiet affair where there are only a few other tables dining there. Even their traditional Balinese evening with dancers is a quiet affair done authentically and tastefully around the pool area. The only thing lacking is that it is not beach front and we are beach people. So it meant either an 8 minute walk to the beach out the back door or taking a shuttle, which the front desk provided promptly. You really can't fault the place if privacy is what you are after. The only challenging bit I encountered is I have a severe allergy to mildew/mould/damp. And in the wet season Bali is continuously humid and living with mould either in the air conditioning or in the thatched roofs is almost unavoidable . But the staff were beyond patient with me until we found a villa where the AC and thatched roof in the bedroom were completely mould free. If you have an extremely allergy to mould, I would suggest checking any property you plan to stay at in Bali ahead of time, its at all possible. As this is a a problem nearly everywhere unless a place is brand new.
My husband and I had a reserved a villa with pool and weren’t sure what to expect, but Amarterra was lovely! We had a huge, beautifully designed outdoor area with a kitchen including snacks, a pavilion with beds and a long pool with carved fountains spouting water from one of the walls. The pool was about 4 1/2 feet all over, deep enough to swim laps or to just stand comfortably. There was plenty of shade, which we enjoyed when we had their large, varied breakfast one morning. The indoor area was nice as well, with an indoor bath and 2 outdoor showers, although all the fixtures could use upgrades. The staff was amazingly accommodating. There was always someone ready to drive us to the close by beach or the shopping/restaurant plaza. On our final day, we asked for a late checkout and were allowed to keep the villa until 6:00 PM! We will remember this hotel fondly.
We stayed for 5 days and had the most relaxing stay. Fantastic private villas. The best service we have encountered in a long time. Mouth watering cuisine. Close walking distance to the beach. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were made to feel pretty special.
The best trip of my life! Amarterra villas made sure everything to be smooth on this trip of my lifetime. The villa is very beautiful. The private pool is amazing. The main room is a bit small, but overall the entire villa is very exotic. The outdoor shower is soo awesome. I would like to highlight the tiny details of the villa which actually impressed me a lot. So there r total 3 TVs in the villa. 1 at the main room, 1 outside and one at the bathtub. So cool right? The villa has everything you want. Tea/ Coffee maker, wine glasses. Bowls plates spoons everything. Tissue boxes are kept in the outside seating area. Theres even mosquito coils provided in the outside seating area and sprays given for inside. Umbrellas are in the room as well. So basically they have taken care of minor requirements of yours. Its really super awesome. The spa experience is also very great. There are bicycles kept in the hotel. You can just grab one n go for a ride, it was really fun. The beach is around 10mins walk away. Go there on the cycles. Breakfast was super nice. Food is delicious as well, they took care of my vegetarian needs. Staffs were very friendly n looking forward to help all the time The only downside i felt is Bali being so hot, the Ac inside the villa was not very powerful. When we checked in it was soo soo hot, it would have been nice if the room was cold already before we checked in! Also they mention in the inclusion about the free mini bar everyday but mind you that free mini bar is without the alcohol. It is the spirits n colas n 1 packet of chips. The bali collection place is just 5 mins walk from the villa. Restraunts, supermarkets etc. mangostein fruit served once for breakfast was amazing. Overall truly awesome experience
