The operative words here are quiet, beach front, large suites, and a seemingly endless supply of older Canadians! My wife and I stayed for five days and four nights. We had a suite that consisted of two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a balcony. Not bad for just the two of us. The accommodations were a bit on the old side, and there was nothing truly luxurious, however everything was clean, maid service was efficient and thorough, and the grounds were maintained very well by the staff. Absolutely no complaints at all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One note of caution about the restaurant. Resist ordering too much. Portions (lunch and dinner, not so much at breakfast) are generous. Stacey and I found ourselves with all too much food on the table after we ordered what we thought would be an average sized dinner. It was not. The portions were huge and the food just kept coming. For two people, one salad and one dish will be plenty. Trust me! This was a very enjoyable vacation in quiet Bucerías. When Stacey and I return we will endeavor to stay at Vista Vallarta.
Can't wait to go back to Vista in March. This will be our third stay there. The property is a great place to have a quiet vacation, enjoy drinks at the beautiful pool and palapa and swim in the ocean. The rooms are spacious and all have views of the ocean. See you soon!
This was my 2nd stay with 8 years or so in between. The hotel hasn't changed much and we very much enjoyed our stay. There were 5 of us this trip, 3 adults and 2 children (11 and 4). Our suite was 207 on the 2nd floor with views of the pool and ocean beyond from our balcony. The spacious suite was perfect for our group. We enjoyed all the bathrooms, the large kitchen, living room and spacious balcony. The suite was clean and Eva, our housekeeper was great. We had an issue with our water (it was boiling hot, even in our toilets) for the 1st day, but it was fixed as soon as we communicated the problem to them. The pool and grounds are immaculate and lush. The staff takes a lot of pride in the property and you can definitely tell. The beach in front of the hotel was also clean and awesome to swim and walk to town from. The restaurant was good. We only ate lunch but enjoyed quesadillas, club sandwiches and nachos a few times. The staff at the bar were friendly and easy to order from. The front desk staff were knowledgable and helpful as well. The clientele at the hotel consisted of mostly retirees from the US and Canada. They come down every year for an extended period of time and kind of take over the place. While they were friendly enough, they did take over the beach palapas, pool loungers and even the bar most days. The walk to town is about a mile. We walked to town via the beach every morning and via the street every night for dinner. I definitely recommend this property and will stay here again in the future.
We have been coming to Bucerias for years. One of our standard places to stop in at is the poolside bar/restaurant at Vista Vallarta. It’s not fancy, just good. Happy hour 2 for 1 drinks from noon till six helps. One of our very favourite snacks is the Bacon Quesadilla This is at the very Northern tip of town but absolutely worth the walk. We come more than once in every trip
Stayed here only one night after it was recommended by friends. We had a very nice visit here. We ended up getting here early, prepared to hit the beach awaiting our room, but to our surprise, we were given a room. We quickly dumped our stuff off and headed to the beach. What a beautiful pool, and beach area. Only about 8 cabanas on the beach, but very nicely groomed area. Beach was very quiet. Very few vendors as too far for them to walk. Pool was not heated, but quite large and a nice swim up pool bar. Rooms are somewhat dated, but kept very clean. Huge master suite with en suite bathroom. Second room with two twin beds and another bathroom. Definitely a place to consider staying for a longer period of time. Points to consider. Very quiet place with persons staying for longer periods of time. Wifi good for the most part except mornings and late evenings when people are home. It is about a 30 minute walk to the Bucerias market. Not too much close to the hotel. Across the highway is an Oxxo, which saved me in the beer department, as the hotel charges 50 pesos a beer at the pool which is ridiculous. All in all, a great place to stay, and when we are down holidaying in that neck of the woods again we will definitely be back!
A wonderful find on a quiet beach with spacious suites. Suites include living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms. There is a large balcony that overlooks the ocean. Air conditioning and ceiling fans are in most rooms. Kitchen has full sized fridge, four burner gas stove top, microwave, blender, coffee maker, dishes and good quality cookware. Filtered water is available at a low cost. The facility is very clean, the staff are very helpful. English is available, however communication is much easier and fun in Spanish. The grounds are well maintained. There is a large pool with access to the bar under the palapa. Numerous beach chairs are placed along the pool, under shade facing the ocean and along the beach. The restaurant and shop area of Bucerias is about a 20 minute walk away. A bus (which we did not try) passes by the hotel with access to the restaurant and shop area.
Our suite was far more than expected - 2 beds/3 baths, full kitchen, living room, private good size balcony and spotlessly clean! The finishes are traditional Mexican (which we love). The staff and service was outstanding, the restaurant was really good and 2 for 1 Happy Hour daily from noon until 7pm. We stayed for two weeks and loved every minute. The walk into Bucerias on the beach takes about 20 minutes and is a beautiful walk. 30 mins drive to the quaint town of Sayulita and 20 mins to Nuevo Vallarta.
We originally planned to stay 2 days but it was so enjoyable that we stayed 5 days. The beachfront location is what you picture a vacation spot looks like, the staff is more than helpful and the upkeep is exemplary. The rooms are large with a kitchen and most open onto the beach. Unlike our day trip to Sayulita or downtown Bucerias beaches where there are vendors every minute, the beach at Vista Vallarta is empty and restful. Plus the pool is large with a swim-up bar that serves 2 for 1 drinks from noon until 6PM. The only drawback is it about a 20-30 minute walk to Bucerias but if you like exercise it is a pretty walk or a taxi is cheap.
Our 'suite' was way more than a suite with 2 and a half baths, two bedrooms, living room and kitchen and a huge veranda with table and chairs; plus we really did have an ocean view, even though it wasn't promoted as such. The staff was friendly and very efficient, the pool clean and refreshing and the ocean/beach area, laid back and peaceful. We were approached by more relaxed Mexican's selling coconuts with straws and fresh mangos dipped in chili and lime than by the typical stream of pushy vendors (although I did buy an inexpensive mother of pearl ankle bracelet). The restaurant was adequate and convienent ( keep in mind though the hours were limited) instead, we took the short 10-15 minute walk into town each day. Vista Vallarta in Bucerias is lovely and we will definitely be back!
I guess after reading all these reviews I was expecting more; however, the whole experience could have been better... at a different property. You get what you pay for. Getting there: About a 35 minute drive in a rental, probably about hour and 15 mins on bus. Location: Away from touristy places which is fine for a family trip not looking to go out and party. The property: A little dated but fine, right on the beach. Old school key for your room and safe. The beach: Not kid friendly, water is NOt cristal clear, wave current constatly active. Kinda dissapointing. The staff: Carlos the evening clerk looked like he hated working there, the restaurant waitress was very serious too didnt smile much and the bar lady (older lady) look like she could really use a drink. The cleaning ladies on the other hand were wonderful, didnt mind tipping them well for that reason. Specially Susana. The restaurant: let's say I am 99% sure I got food poison from the burger I got there the last day, it looked disgusting but we were so hungry that we figured it'd be okay. The fries were dipped in a thick layer of grease. I highly regret ordering food from this place. We went into the wrong building the first day by accident and a worker followed us when we realized we were in the wrong building he was right behind us asking if we were lost, it was very creepy. He was actually following us. I would def pick a different place if we were to go back to Puerto Vallarta.
