We arrived late and cannot remember how the hotel was and what it looked like, could not get a meal, so we went across the road to the bowling club to eat. The room was ok, but my wife said she smelt cooking in the hallway, a number of vans were parked in the car park and looked like they were having a party.
Excellent breakfast and spacious rooms. The Meat to the dinner was poor and below standard. The salad and soup was good. The Television in the room is very old and an outdated model. We stayed on the first floor near the entrance and had to keep Windows shut as smokers were stranding just outside the entrance. Cleaning could be better, dirt on the toilet seat on Arrival. Reception kind and helpful.
Quite a way out of Bad Oldesloe Were told they were excellent at portering. Had to take our own bags to room. Keys for rooms, and only 1 between 2 of you. No kettle. Chair covers stained. Old cathode ray tv with terrible quality picture and a clock alarm! Room otherwise was clean. Dinner:- were told to go sit down & order drinks first. No one came, so went to bar to order & were told to go sit down!! After again being told we had to order drinks first, then get our own food from 'buffet', decided just to go get food. Curry soup, with slivers of bread so thin you could pick your teeth with them. Some paltry salad, including dried tomatoes (I mean dried, not a hint of olive oil, you could play frisbees with them). Then what we were told was salmon, but just tasted like white fish, smothered in a tasteless orange sauce, or you could have pork (didn't try). Served with what tasted & looked like tinned potatoes, and not properly cooked frozen shredded cabbage. Pudding was chocolate sauce, fruit sauce and vanilla sauce, with nothing. Don't take contactless or cards at the bar, or coins, only notes. Staff were rude, the chap behind the bar actually shouted and waved his arms at one older lady in our party, when she tried to order a wine and pay in coins. The outer garden area is nothing but a wilderness of neglected weeds and overgrown paths. Dire.
Dirty and poor clearing. Old fashioned TV with very poor picture quality. No glases in the room. Curtins and walls were stained with red and black dirt. The door could be replaced, worned out.
The rooms are to small and terrible. The backyard looks like a dumpster of weed. Restaurant was unfresh which made us to chose the Bowling restaurant across the street where the food was superb.
Our 2 night-stay was partly to be a celebration of our wedding anniversary. We had a been given a voucher for one night with breakfast and a dinner for two. We travelled with my brother and reserved the table for three for the evening. It turned out to be very inconvenient for the hotel: we were treated most rudely when we turned up for the dinner: we were met by a most unpleasant waiter, who claimed that no table had been reserved so he referred us to a table for two in the middle of a party from some charter trip. We ended up having to go into the town to eat for our celebration. We probably got much better food than the buffet for the masses, but the giver of the gift voucher will be disappointed! The hotel seems to be geared to cope with busparties on their journey somewhere else. Let them - we are not choosing this hotel ever again! The morning reception staff helped us and they at least were kind. And: The watertap in the shower was fixed the wrong way round: hot symbol gave cold water! The pipe underneath the washbasin leaked!
Hotel is nicely situated close to the highway and offers free parking. Rooms are on par with german average in terms of size and comfort, but lacks adequate cleaning. The restaurant offers a quite simple but tasty evening buffet and a decent breakfast in the morning. Both restaurant and bar was slightly understaffed during our visit which led to frustrating waiting when ordering, but staff was friendly and service minded and tried to do their best. Overall, the hotel offers acceptable service but the premises are worn and as such we consider it overpriced compared to German average.
A worn hotel in the outskirt of a small town. Close to autobahn. The bathrooms did leave a lot to wish, even the cleaning of the same. Internet was as expected, and breakfast (not included) was good.
Just had one night here as part of a tour. Our room was OK but it had no cup, glass or likewise and the Receptionist thought me strange when I requested one. Self service buffet but our tour group was seated in a side room away from the main restaurant which was nice for eating but a hazard alert when carrying a plate of not food from servery to dining room through a busy bar area. asked the waiter for the usual "small beer" with our meal and it was small in a narrow glass that looked like a tulip vase.
The hotel itself is fine, but dinner is not the best satisfied when it comes to a weekend. Very good service and the rooms are real good.
