Recent guest reviews

Room was clean, staff was friendly, and breakfast was good. We were pleasantly surprised because we read some of the other reviews, but we had no problems. Great location for ACL festival! Nothing fancy & reasonably priced.

We found a cricket on our bed, careless and dirty place, we had to request an extra towel both days.

Dirty, Scary, Smelly and just a worn down old smokers hotel needs a complete remodel of tear down.

The hotel interior finishes appear to have been recently renovated but the contractor completing the work was extremely sloppy and it wasn't a comprehensive rehab. What I really didn't like was lying on the bed watching TV and looking over at the adjacent pillow to see a 1-inch long cricket on the pillow. After swatting it off to the floor, noted several live and dead insects on the floor. Multiple dead crickets were also observed in the lobby and common areas. I also overheard another guest talking to his buddy that he had multiple crickets in his room as well. The hotel needs a better insect control plan. Floor tile in the bathroom appeared to be relatively new but didn't seem to have been sealed as the grout was already filthy. The tubs obviously also leaked as multiple smears of caulk were present around the perimeter of the tub.

Check-in was OK. Upon arriving at the room we found that many items were missing; 1 set of towels and wash cloths ( very thin), waste basket, TV remote, ice bucket. The clerk responded but the housekeeper certainly did not do her job

Not at all what the pictures on the website show. Hallways had the pungent smell of cigarettes. Bugs in room. The rail on the balcony was loose on our 3rd story room-incredibly dangerous for my kids. Very disappointed with the overall condition of hotel. Staff was very nice though. Spend the extra money elsewhere!

Hotel staff was very kind but despite it being a smoke free hotell you could still smell thick cigarette smoke in the halls. The tv screen was messed up. It was a cheap hotel with good staff.

Actual room looked nothing like photos. Everything in the room was old including the pillows and the mattress. The pillows were flat like pancakes and the mattress was okay, but felt very worn. Little things here and there that weren't essential, but reflected poor management.

Good Central location. Grounds haven't been taken care of in a while but room was OK. Neighborhood made me a little nervous but everything turned out OK. If you just need a place to sleep and a central location it will work.

Very nice staff. Breakfast fine. Room needed upgrade. Waterstains around toilet and dated everything.

I wasn't expecting much, but this hotel is the worst I've stayed in. Mice and roach traps throughout the room, paper thin walls, general uncleanliness and super old building. At least the beds seemed clean. Would recommend paying a few bucks more for a much nicer place.

A friend and I stayed here for an out of town wedding. We had a room with 2 queen beds. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were clean. The carpet looked like it could use a good vacuuming in the corners though, and the (non-smoking) room smelled of stale smoke. The hot breakfast tasted good, although the buffet counter wasn't laid out in a logical way and it was clumsy to navigate around everyone. Overall it was ok, and the price was much lower than the hotels in the area, but the parking lot felt unsafe on the back side of the hotel.

Walls r paper thin. Just sucked. Water in toilet was running. All night

No airport shuttle as most of the Austin hotels do not have a shuttle this hotel was at least close to the bus line. The airport bus and city bus was easy to use, fast, and inexpensive. Morning breakfast was average. The room was clean and comfortable and there is a gas station next door. Overall not a bad hotel, but a bit expensive for the quality.

Loved it would def come back another time. Great for buss or pleasure Good location

We stayed there recently for ACL. They had a decent rate for ACL and now we know why. We arrived near midnight the first night. We killed a cockroach and we itched through the night due to the bed sheets. The next morning I asked for new sheets. After lunch I came back to the room and started having an allergic reaction (rashes) all over my face and body. I'm allergic to dead insects/bugs/dust mites. We asked to change rooms and they gave us the room next door. Our stay next door was better. If we could afford another hotel we would have left but due to ACL everyone was booked. Both rooms were run down and missing paint spots on the walls. It looks like they tried to save money and hired someone cheap to fix everything. Rooms were cleaned (not cleaned good either) late every evening. They forgot to give us toilet paper and we called downstairs. No one came and we had to call again. Do not stay here! At $120/per night at this dump was not worth it!

Good room for the price much better than the old north side location

The staff wasn't helpful the hotel was disgusting and had roaches. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

hotel needs work, room had overpowering smell of air freshener.

Nice staff, breakfasts are good, convenient location, just need to fix the place up a bit.
