Friendly staff. Clean room. Lots of space. Casino within hotel. Sugar Club restaurant excellent. Amazing views from sky tower. Walk to Harbor, shopping, ferry.

Free and fast internet, central location close to the ferry and queens st shops. Parking not cheap

Very smooth experience, clean, convenient to lots of food options and an easy walk to harbour. Had all the features and services for me as a business traveller. Would definitely stay again, no hesitation.

Airline had lost our luggage but the desk clerk here went out of their way to ensure we had anything we needed to settle in and even kept contact with airlines in searching for our luggage. Provided late checkout with no problem while we waited for our luggage (which never came)...we continued on our vacation without it. The superior customer service here turned what could have been a miserable situation on our first stop in New Zealand into as pleasant as possible. Way to Go!

Great experience at Skycity hotel in Auckland. The staff was nice and the room was clean and quiet. Great deal if you can get some discount for the prices, otherwise a bit expensive.

The location was great in the center of Auckland. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel lobby was excellent with many on site dining options. Some construction going on, but easy to ignore. The room itself was lovely and modern. It had a nice setup with 2 queens, plenty of room for 4 people. Bathroom was outstanding with excellent shampoo provided. Would stay again.

It is a good hotel.staff were very courteous and helpful as we arrived early in the morning. They kept our luggage in storage as we went out sightseeing. The location is very central close to the Barbour front airport express bus stop.

The lobby and restaurants looks nice. The hotel rooms are outdated though. Temperature controls in the room were weird. Low, medium and high were the setting with fan controls of low, medium, high and off. The bathroom tiles were yellow and looked worn out. Nice that there was a bathtub though since most hotels don't offer that ammenity. To say this is a 4 star hotel would be stretching it. Would say more of a 3 star. For the cost though for what I paid it was fair.

Nice hotel, was just an was just an overnighter ao didnt use any facilities. Quite a wait for check in

Highly recommended. Great value. Particularly liked the computers right on my floor available for using the internet (for free!)

The staff at the front desk promised a lot, the check out staff was no help. The front desk when I checked in, she told me that parking will be $10 a day. She also gave me two $10 complimentary casino certificates. Next day when I go to the casino and try to exchanged the certificates for the casino chip, the cashier said they don't have $10 chips they only have $25 chip. I told them that I'll give them money to make up the difference. They said NO. I have to have an account with them to do that. So I left the casino. When I checked out the next day the front desk told me that daily parking is $20. I told them that the front desk told me it was $10 when I checked in, she told me that she can't just take my word since it was not documented by the checked in person. I told them about the casino chip that was not honored by the casino. She toke my $20 casino certificates and reduced $20 for the parking. Overall front desk experience, very bad. Would not go back again.

I thought Skycity was a great place to stay in Auckland. It was very central and close to the Viaduct area. The hotel itself is a main attraction of the city as it hosts a great restaurant with great views and is the city's largest casino. The room was very accomadating with a small refrigerator and sofa. The staff were good and overall, I was very happy with me stay.

SKYCITY Auckland is a casino and event centre in the Central Business District of Auckland, New Zealand. Located at the base of the Sky Tower,

Location was great. Casino on site and several restaurants. Requested a room with two beds, but they put us in a room with only one. Went to front desk and explained the issue so they moved us to another room. This room was a smoking room even though we requested non-smoking. Too tired to deal with it at that point so stayed in the smoking room. So overall it is a nice place and the staff was pleasant, but don't expect them to pay attention to the details.

Nothing bad to say about this place. The room was perfect and there is so much to do onsite. Got it for super cheap on here for a winter Sunday night. Would never pay full price for it since it's so expensive.

The central location of Skycity is key to enjoying Auckland o foot. The hotel rooms are a good size but they lack personality. It doesn't help that the view was rather uninspiring. I also strongly suggest you get out of the hotel for dining as the ones in the hotel just aren't that good. While this review may sound negative I am just pointing out the small issues in an otherwise wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room immaculately clean.

Service was poor all around (particularly in the ground floor bar/cafe). While sitting in the lobby, I overheard one of the desk staff talking on the phone to a friend about his relationship problems for what seemed to be a very long time. The staff in the ground floor bar were unattentive (and the place was not even all that busy). The hotel is okay (but I'd give it 3 stars), but the service is not what one would expect from a hotel that must cater to a reasonable number of international guests.
