Nice property away from city but close enough Beautiful surrounding This is what happened on my last visit When I went to get my car in the morning, i found a note on the windshield See picture Whoa is all I have to say... I Will come back and tell this story a lot Loyal customer
The room was clean and nicely arranged. The staff was friendly, attentive and well trained throughout the property. Food and drink at the restaurant was also good. There are areas that need attention. The bathroom lacked sufficient towel hooks/bars to store towels for two people off the floor. The restaurant and pool bar were understaffed for the number of guests who were staying at the hotel during our visit. Wait staff was harried and service was very slow. Despite that, the wait staff remained friendly and were apologetic. We stayed in mid-May and it is probable the summer help was not yet hired and/or trained.
Full disclosure we redeemed Marriott points to stay here. had we paid for the hotel I feel like we would have been very disappointed. The check in was very good and the front desk folks are very friendly and helpful. the rooms were quite spacious and modern and great view of the 14th hole on the links course at Grand National. the a/c didn't go as low as I'd have liked. the smoke detector indicator light is more like a strobe light and VERY annoying at night when you're trying to sleep. the pool area was great and they have lots of free activities like cornhole, ladder golf, pool table, poker table even. lounge areas with several TVs. lots of TVs and seating outside. the service at the pool bar area and the restaurant itself was pathetic. there were SO MANY servers working outside but they all just hung out at the bar and we had to go up to the bar every time to get drinks and refills. the "baked brie" was puny and did not look much like the description at all. the chicken tenders were so overcooked it hurt just to eat them and the chicken was dry as chalk. ordering a hamburger to specific doneness was a crap shoot. the breakfast service was just about as bad. in their defense there seemed to be only 2 of them waiting on tables for a place that didn't seem to have any empty tables. knowing what we know now we would have brought several more snacks and just been better prepared for the bad service and food overall in the food areas. service everywhere else was exactly what I've come to expect from Marriott properties. i would certainly recommend this property for just about ANY occasion.
The best thing about this hotel is the pool and bar area. Huge property! I love the comfortable beds and beautiful grounds. The addition of the spa and new wing would be wonderful. The omelette lady at the breakfast is always so nice. The front desk staff tend to super slow.
We have been to this property a couple of times before and were - again - pleasantly surprised - last time it was the remodeling of the rooms and this time - the new Spa - it is looking great - an extra asset for the hotel - enjoyed a treatment there!! The rooms in the hotel are beautiful - spacious and nicely furnished - very relaxing stay ! We enjoyed the live evening entertainment - just the right kind of music - gentle country songs - great ! The breakfast Buffet was really good - a nice touch to have the Easter-baskets on the tables - quality of the food excellent - the servers very professional and friendly! We will be back - booked already!!
Beautiful hotel with great updated decor. We enjoyed the buffet for graduation on Sunday evening! They had the entire hotel decorated for the celebration! Beds are comfy and hotel is clean with friendly staff.
We decided to play golf at the Robert Trent Jones Grand National course and had modest expectations. The Marriott is simply terrific. The front desk was exceptional and the outdoor pool and bar are top rate. We will definitely go back. A nice hidden gem.
Came with husband for his business trip. I expected more than what I saw. Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice hotel but I saw what you would usually see at an average hotel. Dead bugs in a window seal in the hallway, the sheets were scratchy, and the furniture on our balcony had not been washed down from all the pollen we are having. Now if you are coming here to lay by the pools this is your place, especially if you have kids. The kids pool area looked fun and could entertain for hours and the part of the pool with the pool chairs in the water was great. They also had an adult only pool. There is a bar outside and it looks like you could order food and eat out there as well. I did not. They did not seem to advertise their spa (that just opened) very well. Not much info given out or specials passed along to guest. I was going to go but didn’t. All in all it’s a nice place and I guess if you play golf it would be even better.
My daughter and I had a quick trip overnight. Beautiful property, spacious rooms, and warm and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Larger tv than we had seen in a while. The room could accommodate 4 adults easily. We got a great deal on the price of the room. Will definitely stay here again.
What an wonderful hotel. Staff was very courteous and accommodating. The room was magnificent, loved the separate tub and shower. Balcony was a total surprise. The pool here is second to none. I would put the pool up against any resort pool, anywhere! Also, my family really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. They had some of anything you wanted to eat.
