We stayed for 7 Nights in May 2019. Here are my Highlights Booking: Be sure to try to book directly. We used a 3rd party and you get the lowest room rate unfortunately. Our rate did not even include breakfast like many others do! Rooms: I was pleasantly surprised at the room. We had a mountain view room. Twin Beds pushed to make a King but that didn't bother us. The beds and pillows were actually more comfortable than the Double Tree hotel we had just came from. There is a small refrigerator which was nice. The shower design on the other hand is flawed. It is one of those half door shower designs and water literally gets all over the ground if you are not careful. Air Conditioning: I had read other reviews about the air conditioning and I must say they are unfortunately true.Our room only got cool never cold. My only saving grace was that the nights were cool so we could open the balcony doors, It seemed to be that way throughout the hotel. The lobby was always warm. While the doors were propped open, it did not help much. On Site Restaurants: Breakfast: If not included in your room is 15 euro for the buffet. Only went once the choices were your average breakfast options. Dinner: We went to the dinner buffet the first night and I was pleasantly surprised. 20 euro per person was reasonable for the amount of choice you were provided. Nothing was 5 star but I found enough choices to suffice my needs. The tzatziki was definitely authentic! Housekeeping: Definitely unreliable. They didn't always fill everything. I ran out of lotion one day and it wasn't refilled until 3 days later. Also the teas and coffees were rarely refilled. I always had to grab some from the buffet to bring back to the room. One day we didn't get a bathmat. Taxi: Download an app to your phone called BEAT. It is a taxi app. Since it is a remote location, it hard to sometimes get one, but when you do it is half the price of a taxi they get your from the front desk. Things around the area: There is a small market called M&M market across the street and a souvenir shop. Nice to get some snacks and beverages from. We got breakfast items from here since our room rate did not include it This was also where we found the best prices on Greek olive oil! There are a few restaurants in the next town over. It is walkable but you have to go through some sketchy roads so I wouldnt go alone. About 15 min walk. There was a bakery, coffee shop (excellent gelato), beach bar which had excellent burgers :) , and a seafood restaurant. For around 5-10 Euro we did taxi up to the town of Artemida. Had lunch directly on the beach at one of the restaurants. Also spent the afternoon at the beach since it was nice sandy beach and clear water SPA- The treatments are wonderful. Had a wonderul salt scrub and massage.The spa area itself could use an upgrade. The Thalasso pool was neat but also needed work. Many of the jets did not work, lights out. Showers were old and dingy . I would never pay the daily fee to use the pools. Tours. The resort does not do any tours itself. I was able to find a website called AthensShuttlebus.com . They will come and pick you up directly from the resort which was nice. We did a 6 hour tour of Athens in a private van for 180 Euro total. This was where we got most of our souvenir shopping done! Front Desk: It is always busy. There is no queue or line markers, and people just walk up and start talking to the attendants. Be prepared to be aggressive or you will never get your chance. Pool Area: The pool itself is wonderful, salt water pool. Very clean. There is soft drinks and gelato provided at no additional cost (self serve). Activities are done by a french company called Club Lookea. They seem nice but they only interact with the French people with the club. Be prepared to be ignored if you are not part of the club. I would have joined in a few activities but again all in French. The activities crew knew English but made no attempt to even try to communicate if they knew you werent here on a Club Lookea booking. They provide music at the pool which may be loud for some but I enjoyed it. If you want quiet, go to the beach area. Nice, private chairs overlooking the water. Pool Towels: They are provided though the spa. Go to the front desk and get a towel card to give to the spa attendant. They will give you a towel, When you return them to the spa you get the card back. If you do not return the card when you check out, 15 euro will be added to your bill for the towels so don't forget to turn it in. Elevators/Lifts: These were definitely put in later than the hotel is built. They are tiny and only fit 2-3 people max so be prepared but better than climbing 7 flights of stairs from the pool The hotel definitely has potential and I think is on the right track now that it is owned by Wyndham. Overall I would give it 3 star but improving. I was overall pleased with my stay.
Came to this hotel on a business trip. The staff are friendly enough and the lobby area is lovely. The room I was allocated was more than big enough for one person, it actually had three beds in it. The view from my private balcony was fantastic, looking our over the complex and the bay. Breakfast time was very busy, but the food was fine. The areas around the "bungalows" could so with a pressure wash to clean around the edges and the corners. The whole place is close to needing a lick of paint and a general freshen up. All in all a nice place.
Hotel very easy to reach from the airport, just in front of the sea, great view, very nice welcome and furnitures. The service was honestly under average level for such a big hotel: very poor room service, towels not changed, soap and travel kit not replenished, no way to eat arriving late (11.00pm). Smell in the corridor, the water did not go down in the sink nor in the shower, the dinner in the pool was really mediocre. A bit better the breakfast and the lunch.
This is a good hotel with a close proximity to the airport. We were flying the next day from ATH, hence this hotel was ideal. Arrived in the evening, and went for dinner in the Al Carte rather than the buffet. It was disappointing that most items on the menu were not available. However what was ordered was of good quality. Breakfast options were limited and ok, The hotel location is beautiful and has a spectacular scenic view. The swimming pool and beach was good. However our family had a baby and 2 elderly members for which these facilities were non accessible as they were a lot of stairs to get to them.
Stayed here for 2 nights in Standard Ocean view rooms. First up we drove here in our hire car and we didn’t find it easily - not well sign posted and our GPS battled. This property is located about 1/2 an hour from the airport - I did think it was closer. Check in was efficient and the staff were friendly. Hotel had the smallest lift I’ve ever seen so we had to go in 2 trips as we couldn’t fit suitcases and 3 adults in one go !! Room was a good size with a comfy King bed and balcony. TV offered loads of different channels - I could only find 2 English channels. This is a big hotel with many different room types. The standard rooms are located in the main hotel building which is quite far from the pool. Lovely big swimming pool with loads of sun beds but am sure they’d all be taken in summer. Beautiful big swimming pool. The music being played by the pool (through a loudspeaker) was very loud, but the guests seemed to enjoy that. There’s not a whole lot to do in the area but we did find a couple of local tavernas to have a meal. Breakfast was ok - not the best.
We arrived in the hotel around 11 in the night for a two-night stay (Saturday and Sunday). We booked this hotel because we want to relax from all the hard work, so we knew already that they had a nice spa and all that we needed to have to enjoy our free time! We stay in a twin bungalow just next to the pool, very close to a pool bar, a small shop, and 3 minutes walk from the main hotel, the reception, the spa and the buffet! I have to say that the room that we stayed had a bad smell, I think that it was because maybe it didn't used from somebody for a long time, although was clean enough and the smell went after a day. The bungalow was located in an older accommodation that was in yellow color, so I think that they need a reconstruction. We used the Spa , the sauna and the hamam area! Was good enough and we relaxed but still the spa areas need more improvement as well the indoor pool! Staff was polite and the Lady in the Spa very friendly. The dinner in the buffet was a little bit poor, plenty choices in the cold plates but not so many in the hot dishes. The bread was cold and the ice cream station was a little bit dirty with no many choices of ice cream. Utensils wasn't so easy to find. The staff in the buffet wasn't enough and they were running here and there. I think they need some more staff.
My wife and I stayed here for what was supposed to be our last night in Athens. As fate would have it our flight was cancelled so we had to stay an extra day/night. The staff was so accommodating! Despite being a bit stressed that we may miss our daughter’s wedding, we were able to relax by the pool and enjoy the spa services. The spa is gorgeous and the people there were lovely. Frosina was the best hostess, Elpida and Kati’s were incredible massage therapist and provided a most needed deep tissue massage for my wife and I. The hotel is a bit difficult to navigate but is beautiful. The pool was very relaxing and though the water was cold, the beach area is quite nice. The food was delicious. The lifts are incredibly small, as were the bathrooms. The shuttle driver, John, was awesome! He is so friendly and helped make my wife feel better by offering his reassurance. A couple of tips- use the hotel shuttle to and from the airport; Make use of the spa facilities at Aegeo spas; when going to the pool grab towels from reception first as there are no towels at poolside; and know that there is no ATM in the hotel so make sure you have whatever euros you need before arriving. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Athens!
This hotel/resort is beautiful and the staff is so incredibly nice! The view is spectacular looking out over the beach. The pool is beautiful, the rooms are clean, and the food quite good. It is a bit hard to navigate the resort but the staff is more than willing to help! Before going to the pool make sure you stop at reception for towels- they are not available at the pool and it is quite a hike back up to reception! The lift is incredibly small as is the bathroom! My husband is 6’4 and quite broad and he didn’t fit very well in the shower!!! The spa is quite nice. The gym is a good size- not a lot of equipment- a few treadmills, bikes, and air machines. It seems they have quite a few activities for kids but since our kids are all older I can’t say for sure! Our flight was cancelled so we ended up needing an additional night and they were so accommodating! There is shuttle service to and from the airport and I recommend using it. The taxis in Athens (& Santorini) rarely take cards and rarely use their meters so if taking a taxi make sure you Uber! Uber here are the taxis!
We didn’t expect the resort would be that amazing, from the service and all the features. The crew are amazingly helpful and polite. The place was really accessible to the transportation which helps us to go anywhere. We had a wonderful holiday. We will definitely comeback.
My experience at Dolce Attica Riviera was unfortunately very poor. Stayed at the hotel for two nights and while the overall stay (room, breakfast, facilities) were ok, the staff service was very poor. I checked in at 1:30am tired from a late flight and took almost 20 min (!) to check in cause the front office was new. That would had been fine, but the night before check out I asked to do an early-check out and book a taxi as i had to leave at 5am. They told me everything was settled and paid through the agency, but when leaving the day after, the front office manager, Fanis, told me it was pending. Thats fine too but my worst disappointment is that i had asked for a taxi that took credit cards. The taxi didnt have credit card system so I asked Fanis if he could charge it to my room. He said, with a smirk, he could not as he would need his manager’s permission. I am surprised that someone managing guests doesnt have the authority to make these types of decisions in a situation where a colleague messed up the night before and at 5 in the morning!! He literally told me to wait for the next shuttle (30min) later. I ended up having to detour with the taxi to find an ATM that charged me a commission. To top it up, Fanis forgot to gave me the hotel invoice. Please, train your staff adequately and how to react and response in these situations. I fail to believe it is a burden to the hotel to charge a taxi cost to the room on an exceptional basis and that you do no effort to support your guests early in the morning when you are tired and in a rush. Wont come back.
