My hotel is in the city. It an old hotel but with simple and good amenities. It is a walking to various shops. Easy to get taxi and not far from the local market with offer a lot of local food and products and fruits.
It’s almost it It’s overall ok, relatively good place , but it needs some renovation and management attention. All that cars left at the entrance so one can not reach it with heavy lagage All that breakfasts and dinners included, where 20 minutes before end no attention is given to clients, all that no attention to guests , entering hotel and blocked entrance moving door so that it’s easy for hotel and uncomfortable for customers... all that things are about managements, and it is not good, sorry
The King Hotel in Astana is a great choice to stay. Only one comment which is the bed is really hard and uncomfortable. So I asked for an extra blanket and then folded it and it worked well. The Hotel is well located near Republic Avenue. Room in spacious, security is 24 hours and breakfast selection is good too. Bus stops are around the corners off the hotel. Rooms are common areas are very well heated which is important in Astana winter. Would like to thank the staff in the receptio for a great room and answering my inquires and support. Will stay again in the Hotel.
I can't believe this hotel was only opened in 2009. It is already very dated and looks like it was built in the 1970's or 80's.The rooms are large, comfortable and well heated. An extra pillow or two would have been nice. Bathrooms are large and clean and the hot water is real hot! Reception staff are very helpful and friendly although English levels among other staff are pretty low. There is precious little around this hotel. The wifi works fine though, so you are connected to the outside world. Lighting was an issue in my room: Glaring or double glaring are the only lighting settings with no bedside lamps. However, this is not true of all rooms as my friend's was fine. There is nothing in the mini-bar, and you are rationed to two teabags a day unless you ask for more. Breakfast was alright. Nothing special. The range of hot foods is minimal. However it is with dinner that they excel at mediocrity, nay rubbishness, if vegetarian. I was staying here for six nights, and as I am veggie, had nothing to choose from other than plain rice or pasta and salad. They put everything out at 7pm and clear what's left away at 9pm so you have to be fast to get what little is on offer. Most of the desserts are dry and inedible. If you are expecting a well equipped gym, think again....oh and also expect to pay 3 Euros per visit (which cannot be added to the bill), for the pleasure of lifting a few crusty weights and using the one cardio machine that works in old store-room. There are much better hotels in Astana, but for a couple of nights, this place will be fine. There are two supermarkets nearby that stock Korean pot noodles if you are hungry ;)
If you are looking for somewhere very different to travel to go to Moscow for a few days and then hop over to Astana Kazakhstan. I had no idea what it was going to be like but it’s amazing fantastic really. It was -3 and the snow was horizontal because of the strong winds, the hotel was so warm coats had to be pealed off once inside. The reception staff were efficient and friendly and the breakfast and room service food was excellent . If you want luxury you won’t find it here, I don’t want luxury so it was good for my family visit . The Hotel is on the right bank everything you want to see is a Taxi ride away in the left bank. Taxis are so reasonable on $5 Aud, my friend is disabled and every driver gave assistance getting in and getting out of the Taxi. I would stay here again because of the reasonable cost and the closeness to everything. The Bell Boys were helpful the security staff were quite austere there were no smiles happening here. The rooms could do with a make over and it was a bit funny I had to keep ringing the front desk for toilet paper.
Slightly above average hotel located in what is called the old town but at some distance from the really main tourist sites/ buildings. The rooms are large, my ensuite was massive and it is well enough furnished. Breakfast is adequate without being special and the bar/ lounge area is pleasant . Wine , as usual was an expensive item . Overall , a pleasant enough hotel and there are ample restaurants and shops literally from the front door onwards
The hotel is located in the old side, but in 20-25 min walk distance to the waterfront and 15 min to the bazar. Staff is helpful and polite. Price is quite reasonable if you share room with a friend or stay as a couple. It includes half-board. Those, who want to eat outside, you can leave only breakfast and it will let you pay less for the room. But there is some trick. If you made reservation online with payment upon arrival, dinner refusal would not affect the room price. So, for this I would recommend to make reservation by phone and discuss price in advance. Also in case of dinner refusal, the cost of the dinner at the hotel for one person is 3000 tenge (appr. $8-9) per day. Hotel's Restaurant Sadaf is spacious. Delicious food and sufficient variety. About room and amenties: I stayed in Comport double room and it was well equiped. There are 3 bathtowels, bathrobe, toothpaste and brush, soap, shampoo, dush gel, iron, hair dryer, tea set, tv, and best hotel slippers İ have ever seen. Room was clean, but a bit outdated. Small cons: 1. During the whole time (6 nights) the tea cups have never been washed or changed. 2. Low water preassure in the bathroom. I think it is not good for a 4 star hotel. But despite these facts İ still recommend King Astana Hotel.
Great location within short walking distance of restaurants and the waterfront, breakfast and dinner included in some rates. Room was reasonably clean, a bit outdated, but the location cannot be rivaled if you want to be in the old city. Public transportation links to the new city are easily accessible.
I visited Astana during EXPO 2017. Staying at King hotel, which worked out fine when the free transfer bus to the EXPO finally came. The hotel has a great breakfast. Nice to walk around in Town. The hotel is located in the older parts of Astana, so I got some nice exercise when Walking to the newer more spectacular parts of Town.
Cannot fault this hotel. The rooms were really big, with bottled water each day and kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. We also had dressing gown, slippers, iron, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. The room was quiet and warm, everywhere was spotless. Breakfast room is huge so you are not cramped. There is a huge selection for breakfast and the porridge and semolina was the best we have ever had. There were other breakfast cereals, different types of bread, rolls, butter, cheese, hams, jams, fruit, honey, biscuits and cakes as well as salad stuff like tomatoes, cucumber, fruit juices, teas and coffee and the price for the deluxe double room was amazing. The price also included an evening meal with again lots of choice. We only had the evening meal once as really wanted to go out and try other restaurants. We liked the location of this hotel and so glad we stayed here. there is a good restaurant next door which is Russian and if you come out of the hotel turn right and take your first right again you will find lots more restaurants between 8 minutes up to 20 minutes walk away depending on where you want to eat. I disagree with other reviewers regarding location, we went all over Astana and preferred this location. It was nice and quiet and staff members were kind and friendly
