We stayed here for 5 days. The location is amazing as others have said. The building seems very new. Hot tub is great and almost always empty even during school vacation week. We would definitely stay here again. Grab your skis from the ski locker, walk out the door and get on either the 6 person chair or gondola. When you ski in, walk 20 feet to the front door of the building. If your kids are in ski school, they all meet right outside the door. 25 restaurants you can walk to. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed in one bedroom condo here four nights for spring break skiing. Condo was very spacious and had high end appliances. It was also located on the backside "valley view" which meant it was very quiet and it was on the top floor so it had vaulted ceilings which added to the spacious feel. I also understand we had the only one bedroom with two baths which was great as well. Appreciated the in unit washer and dryer, humidifier, ski boot dryer and also the ski locker. Wifi was also very strong (saw earlier reviews that this was a problem, it was not for our stay). This is the ultimate location if you are skiing with kids who will be in ski school. It was my son's first time skiing and we could not have asked for a better arrangement as this place is literally steps from everything e.g. the Elk Camp Gondola, all ski school classes meet right in front of Hayden, quick ride on the skittles up to the Snowmass Mall, easy walk to bus depot to get into Aspen, easy walk to Clark's if you need food/supplies. It's also great that the rest of the building that Hayden Lodge is in is the "TreeHouse," basically the ski school so you aren't looking at being upstairs from a bunch of noisy bars/restaurants. We are now spoiled by this location for certain, great stay!
Location, location, location! The building sits right at the center of Base Village, steps to the 6-pack lift and Gondola as well as the kid's camp and restaurants. The Skittles gondola is also steps away to get up to mid-mountain for dinner and shopping. A friendly staff member picked us up at the airport and helped us with our bags to our room. However, for trips back to the airport, they only shuttle hourly, meaning we ended up at the airport way too early with our flight time. They initially assigned us the ADA handicapped room, which was terrible. It looks nothing like the pictures on Snowmass Hospitality's website. Very cramped bathroom that looked like something from a hospital ward with worse lighting. Because it's ADA compliant, it had a wall mounted sink with no counter to put your stuff. They did move us to another room, which was far better. It may have been an upgraded 1BR because it was much bigger and nicer than the initial room and it had an extra bathroom and walk-in closet. The building does not have many amenities, just a small lobby, ski storage and a small hot tub shoehorned in beside the locker room (which nobody used but us by the looks of it). Management maintains it very well and you always see people cleaning. The place was spotless. The rooms are very nice but don't compare them to what you would find at Beaver Creek or Deer Valley...not even close. They showed us a couple units in Capital Peak before moving us. Hayden is considered the premier unit but Capital Peak is also very nice. Building A is closest, Building B is acceptable and actually a bit closer to the Gondola, however, Building C is definitely too far away. That said, if I could get a unit at Capital Peak Building A a lot cheaper than Hayden, I would probably go that direction. Lastly, our "valley view" room actually overlooked a somewhat junky 70's walkup condo behind us. Not a deal killer though. The downside to the slopeview room is the fact that the apres ski places below blare music from 3 to dark on nice days. For the right price, I would definitely stay here again.
The reason I gave this place 5 stars is because of it's location, it simply cannot be beat at the base of the 6 person high speed chair, or walk about 100 feet to the gondola. It started off a little rocky when we were given a 1 bdrm handicapped room with one very nasty gas station like bathroom and one of those washer/dryer all in one units. We immediately went down to the office and requested a non-handicapped room but were told there were no other rooms. We suggested they find us a 2 bdrm then instead which they did, in an adjoining building for no additional charge. We were happy with this but upon returning with our groceries they miraculously found a 1 bdrm after all. The unit had 2 (normal) bathrooms with (normal) washer/dryer. We were facing back so there was no noise on the weekend from the bar in the village. We used the hot tub after skiing all day, every day, and never found other people there. These units are individually owned so the beds and furnishings will differ from unit to unit. Our unit had a horrible mattress and no extra duvets. The daily housekeeping was nice to have and they did a good job. If you prefer to try a restaurant in the upper village, simply walk out the front door and hop on the "skittle" gondola up the hill to the upper village and back down again. They had a car pick us up from the Aspen airport and deliver us again at the end of our trip. We had issues with the wifi during our stay, it never seemed to work. The office informed that this has been an issue for months. We will return to Snowmass and we will stay again at The Hayden Lodge because of its location.
We had an amazing experience at Hayden Lodge from the moment we were greeted by our driver at the airport. The accommodations were beautiful, conveniently located, and exceeded our expectations. The staff at Snowmass Hospitality was very friendly and went out of their way to make our trip a great experience. We rented a 2 bedroom condo and were upgraded to a 3 bedroom penthouse upon our arrival due to a problem with our original unit. It was very spacious, bright, and well appointed. I can't say enough nice things about our stay. The location can't be beat if you have kids in ski school as the school is right below Hayden Lodge. Our unit was very quiet, and ski storage was conveniently located. I would highly recommend Snowmass Hospitality and Hayden Lodge. We will definitely be back!
Spent a short spring break week with my family of 4 at Hayden Lodge. We had a two bedroom unit on the second floor facing away from the ski lifts. The unit was clean and comfortable. All amenities worked flawlessly. The daily maid service was prompt, thorough and courteous. Help from the front desk (when needed) was always available. You cannot beat the location, near all of the village shops and restaurants. Walk out the door, walk 20 yards and get on the Village Express lift to the top of the mountain, or on the small gondola (5 minute ride) up to the mall. Coming off the mountain at the end of the day, simply stow your gear in the first floor private ski lockers .... next to the private hot tub .... and you are ready for the evening. We can't wait to return and will certainly be back to the Hayden Lodge.
both condos are run by the same group and last night we were in a condo in capitol lodge but it was above a bar which played very loud music until after midnight. I was not happy and today the staff transferred us to Hayden Lodge, next door but in an area which is more quiet. Both Condos are nice, but ask for a room away from the bars and clubs. The staff today were very helpful in shifting us and did offer to do this last night.
When we first viewed out condo we were astounded at how roomy, clean and beautiful this condo was. We stayed in a 1 bedroom and it had more than enough room for a family of 4 with room for a king bed, pullout bed, crib and 2 bathrooms. The staff at check in were exceptionally helpful and the weather in September was beautiful. We drove up to the club one day and swam at the pool, so that is a nice touch for the kiddos. Keep in mind though that the base village is exceptionally quiet in the off season with absolutely no shops or restaurants open. There are more dining options up on the mall up the way, but we struggled to find dining options in Snowmass that were up to snuff. A better option is a big lunch in Aspen and stocking the beautiful kitchen in the room with snacks. Also, keep in mind that it is quite the hike from the garage to the rooms. Not too bad day-to-day, but hard when you have a lot of gear and luggage; make sure to get a cart at check-in. Aspen is an easy drive and there are many more options for food and shopping there.
Hayden Lodge at the new Snowmass Base Village was wonderful. You are located steps from the Village Mall & Village Market. Our Room was clean, comfortable, & well appointed. Access to the Snowmass Club made this property an especially good value.
This is a great location, especially if you have small children or want to go to ski school. The meeting place for lessons is right out the front door and the ski lift is too! We stayed in a 3 bedroom/3 bath which was perfect for 2 couples and our college student daughter. The condo was well stocked with any type of kitchen utensil we needed and more than enough flatware and dinnerware. The staff was very helpful with whatever questions we had. The transportation center is just a short walk away and there are buses that will take you a majority of places including Aspen and the shopping center to go to the grocery store. Right outside the Hayden Lodge are the little gondolas that take you right up to the Snowmass Mall to shop or dine. We have been to Snowmass numerous times and this is the best location by far.
