We had a wonderful stay at Applewood. The breakfast was delicious, the Nespresso machines in the room along with home baked cookies was extra special. Nice neighborhood too.
When searching, this was one of the first places to come up. The ratings are high for good reason. The proximity to downtown is great and it’s located near a walking trail and outdoor facilities. The breakfasts were unique and very good, and the staff is friendly. We were in town for a special weekend, and the option of the Cortland Cottage is great for having the best of both worlds.

Located in Historic Montford, The Applewood Manor is a leisurely stroll from sights such as University of North Carolina at Asheville and Botanical Gardens at Asheville. Each of the 6 rooms at this 4-star bed & breakfast includes a private yard, an espresso maker, and a flat-screen TV.
29-inch flat-screen TVs come with digital channels, and guests can stay connected with free WiFi. Pillowtop beds sport premium bedding and down comforters, and bathrooms offer hair dryers and designer toiletries. Private yards and espresso makers are also standard. Change of towels is available on request.
Guests of The Applewood Manor enjoy free WiFi in public areas, coffee in a common area, and a terrace. Helpful staff can provide tour or ticket assistance, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Additional amenities include a garden, a fireplace in the lobby, and a picnic area.
